The best thing about your channel is the level of self reflection, your humor and your ability to laugh at yourself. Yes, bunging up the screws or at least take nice looking screws. Yes, that hole for the hook of the porthole isn't the prettiest. Yes the ceiling doesn't look perfect. But it's your boat and I think it matches you in the best way possible., you're rebuilding an entire interior, with limited founds and time. What's the alternative? Perfectionism, running out of money and never get it finished. Sad projects like that all over the place. You get it done and if you want to do something better you certainly have the skills to do so! Well done!
This is very true! Got to get it done and it only gets done by getting on with it. There will be a lot of finishing off videos at some point and things will start to make sense. Brass screws and brass cups! It’ll look like rivets…
The ceiling looks fantastic. Amazing how you figured a way to do it all one handed. You certainly have a lot of skills. Canice, you must be feeling pretty good that your vision of what to do with the pews has really changed the entire look of Linda. Love that first bit of music. Very soulful, old south vibe. Hope all is well. 🤗😊 Kathy
It is an unbelievable result. I didn’t buy the panels with the ceiling in mind. I just thought I’d have somewhere useful to put them. I couldn’t believe I had just the right quantity….
One of the things I like about your renovation/restoration is you are doing it single handed. Thus need a whole range of other problems to solve such as using the ratchet strap to hold things in place as you don’t have a second set of hands. Also the look of the boat is coming along nicely. Great job. ❤
Canice you were missed last week. I enjoy waking up on Sunday mornings and viewing your vlogs with a flask of freshly brewed coffee. You are becoming an outstanding artisan or then again maybe you already were. The metamorphosis of Linda has been and continues to be a pleasure to follow. Thank you for letting us share your journey.
The Capt is sooooo negative. I love the idea and its pretty cool to have that wood there. Way cool. Sooooo much character. Neat drone dwell there at the end. I worry when I don't have the controls at my hand ALL the time LOL Thanks Canice!
I think the Captain was probably more chuffed than he would ever admit. Speaking of restorations, the Captain could use a little of that himself! The ceiling is looking wonderful. Some sanding and oiling and it will be quite amazing.
Hello Canice, I hope you’re having a great day and feeling all fine and dandy. Thank you for sharing another video of your “process” with me. I’m enjoying the journey. The ceiling looks really beautiful. You’re so clever, you really are. 🙂 Please take care, be happy and if your paths ever cross, please could you pass along my best wishes to “Tiller Queen” Beth, and the ever fabulous Bertie. BIG hugs 🙂🐿🌈❤️ [sydney australia]
Your transmutation of Linda‘s ceiling reinforces your status as the Wizard of the Waterways, Alchemist of London’s Canals, and The Shipwright Sorcerer extraordinaire! Bravo, ol’ chap, bravo! I must say your videography spellbound me with each episode. However, this episode might have just rescued my life irreversibly. You see, since 1968, I’ve been putting my wides next to my narrows. Now, I can go out into public again without the shame of looking weird. Thank you for another magnificent work of videography. I loved the opening montage with blues music and the later rock ‘n’ roll piece as you worked your magic on the ceiling. All my best, and, of course, all my gratitude for these magnificent Vlogs. Michael P.S. The last time I worked on a pun on the word “pew,” it went completely ignored. So, I shan’t do that again. P.P.S. I’m actually relieved. I don’t have to spend an hour on coming up with a pun. P.P.P.S. That was the first time I ever used the word “shan’t.” which warms the literary cockles of my heart. 😂
Hahahaha! Never mix your wides with your narrows! I missed a pew pun! I am very late to the comments this week . Thank you Michael for your epic comments! You made me laugh!
That is so great. I love this channel. And it looks like all the hard work over the past few years will visibly pay off in the coming weeks. I'm delighted for this likeable owner and craftsman, who is a great role model for me. 🥰
Hi Harald! Thank you for the kind words. It’s starting to come together nicely. With the weather getting warmer it should be easier to get things done…
Good morning Canice. ‘Bravo, Bravo’ your progress is astounding considering your busy life! And your ceiling looks fabulous. Looking forward to seeing if you move next week, although seven days of suspense is too long! 😫 Take care Joe and Georgie 🌹⚓️
Great work Canice, now for the power of the elbow and rejuvenating oils; it’ll look GREAt! It must keep you warmer and I guess the move from narrow boat to your splendid new home is becoming a reality? Cheers from Australia
It does feel like it becoming a reality! I’ve been in contact with Beth. She’s doing fine. She took a break for winter and she’s getting back to it soon.
Okay, now I can go to bed. LOVE the pew-panel overhead. Disagree with Sea Captain: Panels could use a bit of touch-up to enhance the character they've acquired in long and interesting lives, like Linda herself. PS, Like the portholes and panels, that hanging lantern was made for Linda, but evidently got lost for a time.
The captain has no taste. Your are transforming Lady Linda in an 19th century floating Manor House. I’m not sure where you’ll fit the smoking room, the pool table and the sleeping quarters of the butler but you’ll find something 😀 Keep on the good work. It’s really impressive.
A good job of recycling there Canice. Not sure what your plans are for the ceiling wondering if you could bury the screws a bit deeper and plug with the left over wood.
What I plan to do is take them all down one by one and sand and oil/varnish. Then replace the stainless screws with brass screws and brass cups. I have a vision of rivets in my mind.
Love it! A boat that looks like a boat… I’m not a fan of the interior of boats/narrow/wide looking like the inside of a 1980s caravan… much prefer the ‘Master and Commander’ aesthetic 👍 fab job!
I was sitting in the Cutty Sark and I thought to myself “I like this”. I should go back and film it, to show you what inspired me…. My view is that Linda was built in 1910 and wouldn’t it be nice to reflect that…..😀
Well done Canice with the ceiling. Can't be easy doing it solo and filming to boot! Take a bow! Joe
Thanks Joe! It’s a lot of work, however it’s a record of the work and that’s what it’s all about!

Canice, you're the busiest pirate restorer I know of--keep up the good work. And here's to many more adventures!
It does feel like it’s non stop, but I love it!
“Pirate restorer” is a great line!😂😂😂

I love ratchet straps! They are so useful in so many ways….😀
Hi Canice, I love the ceiling. The sea captain confuses himself, it has character!
He may be completely mad!😂😂😂😂

Yes, sorry about that! Sometimes life gets in the way! Good news we go on a nice relaxing cruise in the next video!
She's looking grand Canice. I think you should make the sea captain walk the plank😂 maybe not he is entertaining! The music to video is spot on.
He came with the boat and he won’t leave!😂😂😂
A cliffhanger! 😯😁
That's one very cool looking ceiling. Top skills, Canice (in spite of what that ol' Captain says).
I’m surprising myself… everyday I’m learning more.

Great Canice is back. Good job, looks great.
Thanks Frank. Now I just need to be quicker in responding to comments!😂
Good morning Canice.

You’ve come along way and it looks much better 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
I’m just amazed again that I had the right amount of boards! 😀
Using the pews was a great idea. Looks great!
I got so lucky, I had just the right amount!
Great video Canice 😊😊
Thanks Kevin, two weeks late….🙄
That ceiling is coming along nicely, 👌 i like it.
Reminds me of my set designs. Brilliant and creative.
Great work Canice, now for the power of the elbow and rejuvenating oils; it’ll look GREAt! It must keep you warmer and I guess the move from narrow boat to your splendid new home is becoming a reality? Cheers from Australia

It's going to look great, canice. My fumbs are filfy and they're up. 👍
Filthy thumbs!😂😂
Stunning. It's going to be stunning.
Eventually!😂😂😂

Looking lovely Canice 😊
No. You are! 😂
Looking excellently ship shape and don't be taking no notice of that scoundrel of a pirate.... !
He’s always there reminding me of my shortcomings!😂😂😂
Great job Canice!
Thank you Robert.
looks super. I love it. I think you need a small gargoyle on your boat now to keep the Captain company
Aren’t I the small gargoyle?😂😂😂
@@canicebannon lol, gargoyles have a bad rep but they were there to keep evil spirits away if you believe in that stuff
Nice work, thank you.
Thank you Andrew!😀
Splendid!

Keep on the good work. It’s really impressive.
That would be amazing, a pool table on a boat!😂😂😂😂
Sorry billiards table…🤣
That should make the boat a little warmer now, looking good m8
The difference is huge. It nice to feel the tangible difference.
nice work mate
Thank you!
It looks superb. That pile of wood is getting smaller and smaller.
It’s starting to get manageable!😂😂
I like it, but can I say I just like it, your hair is growing thank God
Most of it!😂😂😂

You are certainly the king of multi tool skills… now go and get yourself an impact driver for your screwing… you’ll be amazed 👍
My dad just bought one. I’m going to have a look.
Wow 🤩 👍🏻
Thank you!
That sea captain is mean! Though he might have a point…
Hahahaha! You think! 😂😂😂
Hi Candice, did you got the diesel leakage sorted?
It was an oil leak and I did, in the end! You’ve probably seen that video since…. I’m so behind on comments.🙄🤣
@@canicebannon yes I have seen it, good job👍.
I really love how you keep the boat (skutsje) in style
