    Clever. That's general appreciation of cleverness from one who's not so clever with anything either a) mechanical or b) practical. Anyone needs something vaguely arty? I'm the go to!

      My talent is patience. Patience wading through forums on the internet from 2013. That’s the great part of having old stuff, the information is still the same no matter how long ago it was dispensed!

    Permatex cures all, dude.But seriously, you did another fine job cobbling the oil filter back together without my help. So, it's off to ever grander adventures--like wood cutting. Oh my, what a thrill! Smooth sailing, Canice..

      Happy Easter Pat!
      I nearly crashed the drone into the water as I was flying along . It turns out the drone doesn’t recognise water too well as an obstacle to avoid!…. They did mention this in the manual! 😂

      @@canicebannon You have more guts than I do but you have to fly over water cause .. well.. BOAT! I have done a very limited run over the Rio Grande but not close to the water. For that exact reason. What manual.. We don't need manuals!!! LOL.. Super glad you didn't get wet recovering it!! Love the footage big time. I got to fly my racer this weekend and I took off and looped around and landed right where i took off from twice.. Scary how that worked.. Normally pretty impossible. All the best from us over here to you over there!! 🤗

    • @canicebannon
      @canicebannon  7 місяців тому

      I was told of a DAF 575 I could have if I wanted it. I’d just have to get it out of its boat and get it from the Netherlands to the UK and then swap with mine. Easier said than done.
      The boat in question used to use it to power its bow thruster…😂

    Thank goodness you heard the oil leak. What a mess that would have been ! Drone footage yeah!!! Did you get a 3rd boat or is that Michael’s? Great video editing. I liked the batten placement segment. My mom made it to 107 yesterday (3/29). Great party 🎈🎉🥳🎂 I would have invited you but there was no place to moor Linda. 😢 Have a good week Canice!

      Happy Birthday to your Mother! What a fantastic age!
      Yes that’s Michael’s boat! He follows me around and we help each other out. Unfortunately he doesn’t like the camera all that much. It’s a privacy thing for him.

    Typical issues to prevent a planned day, if not the oil filter then its the rain.

    Nice oil filter fix. Have you thought of a wind turbine for your mast, or an alternator for the engine, to charge your batteries.

    • @canicebannon
      @canicebannon  7 місяців тому

      I have. But the Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries are a game changer. The solar panels I have are more than enough, as long as I’m not in a canyon. I may get a wind turbine eventually, but I’m told that the small ones are not that great at generating enough power. I’d need to look into it further…

    • @chrisfryer3118
      @chrisfryer3118 7 місяців тому

      @canicebannon I'm off grid too. I run 2kw of solar with 10kw lithium iron phosphate batteries. I agree that they are fantastic, they replaced 20kw of lead acid. And they do a much better job. I'm on a 24v system and had a turbine. It produced good power but would scare me shitless in a storm. Eventually a storm broke it (bent the scaffold pole it was mounted on), and I haven't gone back to them. Still have the turbine (needs bearings replaced).
