I like how the original video says “consistently exceeding player expectations” and yet this is their last chance before we get to say the game is dead!
Makes me think of “you are exceeding our expectations, which was our expectation of you. So you are not meeting expectations and will not be receiving your raise.”
If you want to see how a game like XIV would evolve if forced to at gunpoint, look no further than your precious world of warcraft. You get what you deserve.
And what is wrong with World of Warcraft exactly?
DF and the roadmaps they have been doing have been great, idk why people seem to only look at shadowlands lol.
More like look at what happened to FF14 v1.0
@@markm9548 For one thing the amount of sickeningly annoying dailies you need to grind through at a molasses pace
Story is forgettable. I played it for 10 years straight before I switched to FFXIV.
Great video, can't wait to see the next 'last chance' video you make on this game!
I guess that's really up to others though, because I didn't make a last chance video on the game, I reacted to a video.
His cycle of returning and quitting is absolutely normal, standard for many MMO's and in no way problematic. He is simply reaching for content.
Are you talking about me, or the legendary drops?
I would love more mid-core things / 4 man things. It's easy to get and keep a gang of 4 for long term hard things....a group of 8 always falls apart and I too have never finished a savage tier. I love that 14 is good for breaks and things, but I would like more for the in-between times. I am really excited for dawntrail because it opens up all kinds of options. Kudos on the weight loss so far you can do it! See ya in game soon enough
New world didn't work out, huh?
Still loving new world :) and it’s coming to consoles just like I predicted.
@@gingerprimemmo Good stay there. Don't need ya on 14.
This guy is so noisy about leaving the game lol
@@pyro7401 XIV players get really pissy when their game receives criticism :)
@@tenroy6 XIV players get really pissy when their game receives criticism :)
Not sure about all else... but, very right! That layout, the flooring, etc... looks very similar to how I want my virtual characters to have their personal housing. If I am talking about personal housing, this is very clean, looks good, etc. I really like it! Guild housing needs a lot more, but for personal???
Great video, I do not think FFXIV is having any sort of issues with volumes of content per patches. My biggest gripe with the community is the loud majority of the community that keeps complaining over everything, and most of the time ruining things that they complained over, for example the relic grind, they didn't do a zone like bozja and eureka because people were complaining that they were horrible so SQEX did what they wanted, don't do one for Endwalker. Now they're complaining about it, but they are the same people that wanted this. Jobs homogenizing is whole another issue, and I really hope they actually fix it up in 8.0 like Yoshi P said. These two issues is the only thing I am concerned about, everything else, its pretty healthy and I absolutely have no problem with them. SQEX need to be reminded that they cannot make everyone happy, and try to actually critically think about how this would affect the community, BEYOND the loud majority. Cheers
Whoa! Much weight loss bro! Max dad mode engaged! 👏
Thanks dude! Making progress
Your steadfast refusal to recognize that you no longer enjoy a game and that's it time to move on will never cease to amaze.
No different than walking into a jazz bar and complaining, loudly, that this bar was better when it was a rock'n'roll bar, when they played REAL music.
There's an audience for something and you aren't a part of it. Accept it and move on.
Your comment makes absolutely zero sense. Congrats 😂
These are not FF14 problems, but MMO problems.
Very few MMOs have had horizontal progression (FF11 and LOTRO).
Most MMOs follow same formula, grind to get gear, raid.. then new patch.. repeat.
2 more expansions and its new ff mmo, all gucci
First
First is last.
How many "last" chances is XIV going to have?
As many as terraria's 'final' patches, lol
As many as wow's last chances. Even slands didn't kill wow
The issue with ffxiv is that it is too standardized.
You get a set number of dungeons, trials and raids every expansion, nothing is a surprise.
After playing for 10 years, i find 80% of tuw ganes content boring. How much replayability does a level 70 ex trial have when you have been doi g it for 6+ years.
For new players, the gane is fantastic. There is content everywhere. For a veteran, tou gwt a few hours of story every 8 months and about week of new content to smash through, even playing an hour or so a day.
There needs to be more long lasting content for the veteran players, not everyone wants to play other games and shouldnt have to.
No MMO will ever be able to keep up with people who play it for a hundreds of hours per month. That is simple reality. If you play any game an exorbitant amount of time you will quickly run out of things to do.
@@ganymeade275 and no game will ever keep an active player base when you play less than 5 hours a week and still run out of things to do.
Nobody is asking for 100 hours of content a week, they are asking for content that is designed to be replayed and rewarding.
If I can log into a new patch, clear the story, dungeon, trial, ex trial all relevant content associated with it, in under 2 hours, that is a failure of 8 months of development time.
The only content amongst that that is even remotely relatable is the ex trial for a mount, but as everyone keeps saying, 'omg ex is too hard stop catering to hardcore players' when in reality ex trials are as hard as normal mode, you just need to actually do the mechanics instead of eating every aoe.
@ganymeade275 no one will ever understand that. People think these games should always be adding new things almost every day. I come in waves for it so I don't get burnt out. I do the same with Warframe, CS2 etc and the creator even says to do this don't burn yourself out.
For me personally:
1. Gearing is so predictable and boring.
You do daily roulettes and dungeon spam. Get your tomestone gear. If you raid you raid and if you don’t you don’t.
2. Eventually a patch comes out and you start your artifact weapon grind. That used to be the funnest part for me probably until they changed it and made it lame.
3. Game needs a good shake up. Something to bring back the excitement otherwise it’s kind of boring outside of MSQ.
On your 2nd point I think it's funny because the community is what really ruined the relic grind. The amount of complaints about eureka and bozja and not wanting to have to do that extra content to get a relic. We then get a relic that only requires us to do roulette pretty much and then you have more complaints because it's boring and we don't have a eureka and bozja.
I do feel bad to a certain extent for the devs since it's a situation where your not going to make everyone happy, the biggest personal complaint I had was the last relic weapon having the same color and design across all the jobs which was the biggest disappointment.
@@ShimoKuma Endwalkers final relic designs are the same.
@@collenjets123 I know… I said that at the end that the design and colors were the same.
The FFXIV formula is stale after playing for 10 years, hopefully they take some risks with the new expansion
yeah no shit. what normal person plays 1 game for over 10 years. most relationships get a little stale after a couple of years.
What normal person assumes i or anyone plays 1 game, you’re comparing a human relationship to a hobby, you good bro?
@@mukstar lmfao oh boy. I see no signs of intelligence in this one. If one game = youre only hobby you are a bit sad. Its one thing to consider video games a hobby but if 1 single game is your only hobby sheesh. Doing anything for years on end causes burn out goofball. Ive seen a pattern with 14 players, everyone who joined around covid has lil to no issues with the current game, no lifers are suffering from burnout
@@SinisterPlauges Most of them. When a game is good most people tend to come back to it. Or never leave it in the first place. There's nothing wrong with that.
@@brandonfrancis1941 there is something wrong with that. Ive seen the pattern lol. So many streamers especially mmo streamers have realized its healthy to play other games and not obsess over one. Playing a game 10 years straight and me going back to play KH2 every couple of years are 2 different things
