thing is..new mmos are not social anymore..as a old mmo player..back in a days..when you log in and say hi to guild chat..allmost everyone say hi back,most of the guild things was talked in chat..noone love to logg and see like 30 ppl online in guild and for like 1 hr noone speak a word..i know even with pc players that happens alot since most of ppl using discord..but with console players..guild chat will be very very dead

console players also have discord to go into and chat. since its actually an app on the console now. mmos are still very much social, ppl just don't like to type as much anymore so they join VC
I'm just happy that they were honest with us this time round. Now we can at least forget about NW until Oct and enjoy some other titles in-between. I'll definitely be giving it another go in Oct and hope that the expansion goes on sale between now and then. I might even consider rerolling on a fresh start server to get that new MMO experience.

Hey, I got the same issue to purchase tokens last time. Try to twist steam overlay parameters ! (do'nt really remember what I did but it has something to do with the steam overlay)

I am primarily a PvP player. I am not as excited about the Free For All area as I would have been changes to races, 3v3, and new OPR maps or changes to war.
That being said I am most excited for the updates to make playing better (bug fixes, etc). However, the past patches shows there is generally not a net positive for fixes. Granted this update is free, so I’ll still check it out.
Not having played the game yet, I think I will start looking for sales to pick up the base game and expansion... but I'll probably wait until October to actually play it. With them saying that there will be further controller optimizations, I think that will be the ideal time for me to get into the game as an exclusive controller player.
No content till October, not even a season? If I leave, I leave, a lot of people i know left before "Angry Earth" and have not come back as they feel like they "can't catch up" or that it's too hard to catch up. I don't think the PTR will be enough to keep me till October but who knows. I also think that unless I see concrete stuff they are fixing for when October comes it probably won't be enough to keep me playing when there are so many new games coming out to try.
Other than dungeons, it's not hard to catch up at all. There's not that much content, and that's the main problem. The hard part is finding enough people to get the dungeons done. At launch, leveling was A LOT longer, but it's pretty trivial now.
There's a ton better options out there. Do the right thing and leave. With 2900+ hours under my belt I can say you won't regret it.
I also have 1000+ hours plus on NW, and they lost me on angry earth i remember clearly with Apophis fight solo, narrative they build this badass story with imo and u rescuing him, then fighting a great evil and then when u went to that trial u realize with 5 to 6 hits u kill apo and that's it u re the hero... No challenge no epic fight, then they announce a revamp to the same city first light and i had to pay for that, and really that was unacceptable, as this update is too. OPR could be the only reason to play endgame and mutated for the challenge to get to t10, but OPR is the best content they have and is so heartbreaking that they arent doing anything about it. There could a Smite three or two lane style of game OPR, that would be massive too. I cant justify devs of this game really... I would really love to come back to NW cause it was a thing, it could be a very special thing, but it is not there.
The reworked the MSQ how many times now? This is the first thing they should have had ready on launch.
They promised a Roadmap in June, which was already delayed from May, saying they "take their commitment serious" and now they're saying they're releasing the Roadmap after the update in October. They lied to their entire community with a straight face. So If you're still believing anything they promise after this, you're just massively delusional. They will never change.
This game needs to go on Discount, I want to play but not for $40 plus expansion cost.

Just park the game, wait until the october release, get on fresh start, play along and have fun with the new console players. Thats it. I know a lot of you are mad, but this was the right decision. They need to focus on this console launch and neglect PC players a bit. Cuz without the new console players, the game would die. It would. Period. And if the console launch will be a disaster, then it will happen. But if they succeed with it, then you will play New World for many-many years after this. Simple as that. No content till October? Boohoo. Who cares. I will give them a last chance, start fresh and play with the console peeps. The cross-world (+ cross platform) machmaking will be cool. The game will be in a better state. All they need to do at this point is to have a great console launch, revive the game and come up with a omegakiller 2025 roadmap. Until then, go play something else or leave your dark room a bit, your body will thank you.
Oh and dont forget, the game even in its current state has content for a new player easily for hundreds of hours. Which means they will have time to put out their 2025 updates without chasing away the new players. Fingers crossed.

@@FeelMyBicepp Cuz its my life and I do whatever I want? I enjoyed Rise of the Angry Earth, but parked the game a month after. I play New World on and off, cuz I like it, its a chill game for me. Usually I play for 1-3 months then park it, since launch. So I will wait until the console launch now, and probably do the same. Why? Cuz I'm a casual player, living a life too. All these mad people are delusional, just like your stupid question. If you and the others are so mad and angry at the game/devs, why dont you just leave? Nobody will care if you do. Nobody cares about you.

Theres no content in October. OPR is only of the only replayable content in the game and we still dont get a map which would take an intern 2 weeks to make with existing assets?

I’ve played 1k+ hours in new world and am mainly a solo player. I love the idea of solo play but I just don’t trust the dev team anymore. WoW is coming out with solo focus options, I’ll be playing that instead

Not getting anything u til October does suck ! But if I’m being honest then saying we will “experience a lot of performance changes” noticing they are going down the route of release. Trying to squash next to all of the bugs is exiting. This is by far the closest it’s ever been to a release… I hope there is something positive that comes from this.
The kicker is, they are only doing this for console, because the game will end immediately if console players have to put up with what PC players have experienced for the last three years. I don't believe them, personally. They've made thousands of promises and delivered on like 10% of them over three years.
Wed need a massive Expansion and a reason to want to come back to a fresh start event. Im not sure its possible at this point which sucks some of the best times ive had gaming were early on in NW
What is coming for existing players in Oct is only the pvp island, which people will get bored in 2 weeks. They making us farm all thr dame gear 725, that it. Maybe I get back next year.

Will console players be able to join the existing servers? Or will they be fresh start only? Really shitty if I have to do this grind all over again just to play on a server that has other players on it.
Console players can join existing servers but already established characters will not be able to tranfer over to fresh start.

I know we don’t really have faith in AGS making this work, but when you look at FF14 at launch vs today…HUGE difference and now it’s easily top 3 MMOs player base, content etc. Flip a coin I guess. It’s either gunna be real bad, or it could change the game forever.
to me as soon as amazon leadership choose to start finally making lotr mmo; amazon leadership should have immediately opened up another studio for new world. it seems like they waited too long to do so. I could be wrong but to me that is a huge issue or should have hired more people by doubling the studio employees for doing two games at once.

Isn't it hilarious they didn't even realize it was a troll all along. If they were going to implement swimming they need to have areas that utilize it. WoW has caves, GW2 has entirely different skills underwater. They didn't even do something original with it. Just the most basic implementation, can't expect much from AGS.

I played New World on my PC always liked it but wanted to just kick back on my couch and play it on my PS. Now I can. So I'm cool with it.

for months it's been wait for june, now june comes and there's nothing happening for months, basically nothing substantial will be added to the game for a full 12 months immediately following a paid DLC... kinda pathetic tbh
Ff literally asked their player base if we make a melee DPS is that cool and if so what should it be like? Everyone yelled dual wield/Kirito sao fantasy and they said ok thats what we will make. Listening is hard.
let's be frank they made a beta version of new world with bugs sold it to pc players and now after they have fixed all of the main gameplay and end game problems there releasing it on console. I feel like new world is finally coming out of beta and we are getting a full game at launch. who new they would milk the pc players to more or less be testers for a console release but hear we are.

Wish they had just admitted to us last year that all their effort was going to console. It would have sucked but at least it would have been honest and we wouldn’t have gotten a bunch of false promises, and broken content.

I have a question: PS5 console gameplay is like tab-targeting especially for the ranged weapons. AGS has mentioned that console players can join any existing PC servers to play with PC players even at open world, OPR, everywhere. Thus, how thy are going to balance between PC and console players for ranged weapons mostly because one is for truly action aim to shoot normal and skills while console ranged weapons will just tab-targeting you like aimbot. Musket is ruined by aimbot where AGS does not ban illegal aimbot users instead they ruined musket so much, even now... musket is now a closed range weapon instead of long range as the bullet falls down and no zoom and slower than arrows lol with no so good perks and active and passive skills comparing to bow weapon etc etc.
For the new PVP zone thy introduce, some people already cries about musket but I can say that musket is not so great in medium range and long range to hit targets to give lots of damage so even 5-10 musket cannot win against full premade group to counter them nicely. Most important part is that PRE-MADE groups and ZERG Dominating Territory owning guilds to gang everyone to get all contents again, so how thy are going to solve these??? At the end, nothing has changed unfortunately :(((

Haha the troll us or the dont have any connection with us or reality for games situation. If they are satisfied with 300 average player on every server . (With botsss) . Same so called similar contents in INSTANCED Zones with limited people (which players will play with their friends only again or SOLO themself) for +2.5 years at every no big incoming patch... We want open world pvp and pve content, and making small and medium sized companies meaningful and let %98 of players to experience the fortress siege, and fix the musket to make it a ranged weapon instead of a closed range weapon... There are tons of problems thy need to fix and thy need to increase server capacity more for more players. Make a single EU server!!! I will never pay for server transfer anymore, no point, EU has 2.5k active players most of the time as a total of 3 servers lol... New and returning players cannot fight against old players and RMT players, and thy cannot gear up because noone to find to do grind artifacts, elite mobs etc or chest runs or portals etc, the game is so dead in EU region...
We want naval combat, more sandbox elements, farming, trade runs, building your own house or guild outpost or any new ideas but the problem is that THY DON'T ADD ANYTHING NEW...
I really have no sympathy here. Why are we surprised this game is a disaster? It's been this way since the original pivot in 2018 from full pvp to a halfassed experience we got today.

Is New World worth playing? HARD NO. Worst devs of all MMOs I've experienced so far and I've played many...
thy develop the new LOTR mmorpg too :D and when that LOTR mmorpg comes, probably it will be the shut down of the New World, NW has only 4-5 years max to survive similar to Archeage as NW is the new Archeage that follows the same steps of Archeage from every perspective, along with huge RMT and other subjects.
