    ABOUT ME + SLEEPY SANTOSHA
Hi! My name is Rachel. I am the creator of Sleepy Santosha. I am a certified yoga instructor who specializes in yoga for chronic illness. Although I hold two teaching certifications, the classes I teach are largely inspired by my own firsthand experiences with chronic illness and my personal yoga practice.
Because I know what it is like to live with chronic illness, I am able to create yoga classes that intuitively support the needs of someone who is experiencing chronic pain, fatigue, brain fog, etc. and many of my classes can be practiced in bed. If the practice in this video didn't suit your needs, be sure to check out the other yoga classes on my channel. I try to provide a variety of intensity levels.

Loved this video, it was so nice to see a little bit of your daily life. I understand how you feel about not wanting your followers to assume that all your days look like this one. Some days are better than others and you always help us to understand that. Enjoyed seeing the sauna and I hope that it can become a more regular part of your self care routine.

Thanks Becky! I filmed this Vlog about a month ago and I have kept up with the sauna. It’s been really helpful!

Thank you for sharing your sauna experience. I take epsom salt baths at home and have wanted to try the sauna but have been nervous due to my POTS. Now I'm interested in investigating further! Hope to see more vlogs like this soon 🌼

The fact that it’s dry heat really makes it more tolerable! I’ve been enjoying it. Epsom salt baths are also a really good option if you can tolerate them!

Thank you for sharing your life! ❤ I'm pretty good right now, the only less good thing is that I'm having a burn-out at the moment. I have the feeling that my life got a lot better when I finaly got the right orthopaedic shoes and exercises for my EDS and POTS.

I really enjoyed that video. I loved what you said about not everyday having to look the same as I am right now laying in my bed trying to recover from the symptoms of Covid

My service dog is at training so my schedule's been pretty free. I've been getting regular massages once a month and I go to the chiropractor as needed. In both really help my chronic pain..

Thank you so much for this video!
I don't know much about Lyme. It's such a mysterious subject, yet I have flare up after flare up. Is there a holistic website I can learn about it?

I would recommend looking up Dr Rawls. He has a great website with lots of resources and supplements.

Our modern world doesn't recognize the importance of rest. I think Americans, especially, disregards the importance of rest. And it is so funny how just simply doing nothing drives a lot of crazy. And as it has been pointed out to me....savasana/corpse pose is difficult.

You are so right! I swear Savasana is the hardest pose for most of my students.

Basically the same thing Planet Fitness has, always helped me, Beauty Bed- has infared light and is vibrating, kindof helps my blood flow- from POTS, but never diagnosed with Lyme disease, although, at age 19- I remember seeing a bulls eye on my calf, getting antibiotics- but they said that it was a brown recluse bite (student center- not a real doctor), don’t know, it got bad, healed and no necrosis, now I find out how many got tick bites and lyme disease- resulting in POTS, but often have the bullseye…. wow- I wonder… yet, no doubts I was symptomatic before this bad bite, and symptoms of HEDS- well prior. Going to go do the beauty bed today, wonder if it is helpful for all the above :) Recently was put on a vasoconstrictor med, all g with beta blocker- sooo needed that vasoconstrictor and feels like I am sitting in the sun- that tingly- sat in the sun feeling, from meds… I always struggled with hot weather, as a child getting heat strokes, cousins being ok, siblings ok- once cross country trip, next walking around Dollywood- everyone else did fine… maybe we need the rays, because we naturally avoid spending time in the sun?

These are all really interesting observations! It seems we have to be our own detective when it comes to our health.
Also wanted to mention…The far infrared sauna does not provide any UV rays so I’d still recommend getting some sunshine for vitamin D or taking a supplement 😎
