Great video! Living in the tropics which means high humidity waxed canvas in a no no! Had a Defy Bag in waxed canvas and around monsoon season the wax felt sticky and started to get fungus. Though during summer/dry season the material felt nice to the touch.
The NutSac (in black awesome) for EDC and business you reviewed previously has caught my attention. Seems like it compares favourably with a little more organization and maybe more weather resistance too. All these choices but I have decided to go waxed canvas. Thanks for the great review.
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the videos have been helpful! The nutsac is a solid alternative to this and I have also really been liking waxed canvas bags as of late:)
Great video as always. I own the Bolt you mentioned and they look very similar. Bolt has 2 external water bottle pockets which are large but sit flat. Also more functional front pockets IMO. Very comfortable. However, It would have been a tough choice if this bag was available at the time.
I love this I just got a CPL 24 and to be honest organization-wise it's not much different and the build quality on this looks amazing plus the internal Molly is the right direction so you can clip knives and other gear plus the 21 l is literally the perfect sweet spot between their 16 l that's never in stock and the CPL 24 which I just got I think I'm going to probably return my ever goods which I do love.
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! I am usually a fan of black bags, but the dark oak on this one has been perfect and doesn’t show lint and pet hair as much as my black gr1
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! I think I still prefer the look of this one but the dyneema gives me some additional piece of mind on rainy days. The dyneema also helps the bag stand up better on its own
Hi mate, good product video. Am thinking about getting this bag. I however am 5'3" and quite slim in build. I'm wondering if the bag would be quite tall for someone my size and the straps too wide for someone reasonably skinny. What do you reckon?
Thank you for watching! It’s tough to say for sure but in general the 21l still feels like it could work ok in my opinion. As for the straps I think that may come down more to how much you think you’ll be carrying the majority of the time. The wide straps will be great for heavier loads, but if you don’t carry that much they may feel like overkill. Might also be worth exploring the laptop versions of the bullet ruck like the 16l dual compartment
I have the GR1 21L & 26L, and the only thing I want to add to the GRs that I have is the quick access pocket. I don’t know what to do. SCARS they quit modifying the quick access pocket to the old GRs. Also, I am living in UAE so even if they are still offering that services it’s not worth it because of the shipping cost. I wish if I can find a professional bag repairing shop locally that I can trust to do this modification. What do you think? Advice please.
Thank you for watching! As much as I love the quick access pocket I would be afraid to add it after the fact especially if it’s not scars (I have an older gr1 that doesn’t have it and prefer leaving it that way to avoid affecting the durability of that area
Thank you for watching and tough choice, particularly between this and the bolt backpack. I am a bit of a sucker for goruck and the clamshell layout (it can also hold a bit more) but for most people I think the bolt might be a better option as it has more organization, water bottle pockets, luggage passthrough and more breathable straps and back panel
@@dannypacks thanks for the response. I just happened to order this bag (goruck) earlier today. I almost bit on the Bolt as it's actually retiring from production in a few days but the aesthetic of Goruck plus additional space (21L vs Bolt 17L) won me over. It's a shame the Bolt will be no more though. Would have loved to have saved money to get it it.
Oooh, it bothers me that the bag doesn't have feet on the bottom to prevent the leather from sitting straight on the ground when you set it down. That's pretty much obligatory to me when you have a straight leather surface like that, especially considering the price range. Other than that, this looks like a pretty great bag. I like that it comes in a few different colors (I'd love a wine color, but the navy is cute, too), and the harness system would make this bag a pretty great college backpack - textbooks add very compact weight, so I'm always glad to see smaller backpacks that still have a very solid harness system.

Thank you for watching and I agree I would be a little concerned about having this in a high humidity or super rainy climate

Thank you for watching and that’s great you’ve been enjoying the bolt! Definitely a tough choice between the two!:)
Awesome video! I’ve been torn on this bag for weeks, this is exactly what I needed to see, just made the purchase 😄 thank you brotha great work!
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Hope you enjoy the bag as much as I have, definitely one of my favorites!:)

Thank you for watching! As much as I love my cpl24 there is just something about the size and layout on this one that has me reach for it more often
Man, that dark oak has me thinking.. i want to go with black but damn it that dark oak is fire. But black goes with everything ahhh!!!
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! I am usually a fan of black bags, but the dark oak on this one has been perfect and doesn’t show lint and pet hair as much as my black gr1
@@dannypacks have you had a chance to see the x pac gorucks yet? Do you think you'd still prefer your heritage over those?
Recently I acquired a good as new GR1 Heritage Olive 21L for $290. I think it is a steal for the price.
Thank you for watching and I agree that is a great deal!:)
Do you now prefer this or the dyneema?
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! I think I still prefer the look of this one but the dyneema gives me some additional piece of mind on rainy days. The dyneema also helps the bag stand up better on its own
Just got my gr1 black heritage 21l. Theres no way im sending this back hahha. What a beautiful bag.
Thank you for watching and I agree, definitely one of my favorites! :)

@@dannypacks agreed. I am thinking now about the GR2 26L as an EDC. But there are not enough reviews to decide. What do you think?
@@anas7hamed I am a big fan of the GR2 26 for edc, even without the quick access top pocket its really solid and a good size imo
Laptop pocket, did you check with macbook pro 16"?
Between this backpack, the Waterfield Bolt and the Filson Journeyman, which would you choose?
Thank you for watching and tough choice, particularly between this and the bolt backpack. Have you noticed any markings on the MacBook from the waxed canvas?
Thank you for watching! I haven’t noticed any yet, but will be keeping an eye out and leave updates in the description if I see anything

What color was this bag
Thank you for watching! This is the dark oak color:)
Can you add chapters to quickly jump to sections of the video?
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! I think I have them added now and will work on including that in future videos :)
Ditto. I bought it in all black.
Thank you for watching and that’s awesome, the black version looked super nice as well!:)
$400 god damn
