The Macan looks so much like an egg, I'm afraid Jack's dominating virility might accidentally fertilize it.
And that, kids, is how they make sedans
😂😂😂
Porsche in the front, Toyota crown in the back...idk what bin these manufacturers keep sharing from.
@@marcusvisionI mean, it's a VW, not a Porsche. Even if it wasn't totally made from VW parts, Porsches have 2 doors.
It's a car
Didn't know that Patagonia makes suits now
hahaha
I like to believe between video shoots Mark is gathering all their old Patagonia clothes and creating suits out them for Jack to wear.
@@coreyk288 Little known fact is that Northern Illinois is the sweatshop capitol of the United States.
Dam took my line haha
Notice the matching loafers😅
Jack dominating the Porsche press staff with a POWERFUL hog centered stance. “Take a little more out of the crotch, I need it tighter” - Jack to his tailor, probably
lol
incredible height mog
lmfao
You sure you're on the right channel? I mean if that's what you're focusing on...
@@weirdshibainu I’ve been here since Mark was doing overviews of the Gen 1 Veloster infotainment, pal. I taught Jack his A1 meta bouillon stance.
It's interesting to see how much more engaged these engineers seem to be with you guys vs other media outlets. You all are clearly well educated and informed before even engaging with the engineers, so your caliber of questions seem to really perk them up and get them happily engaged. Other click bait journalists definitely don't present information at the caliber that SG does and it shows. Thank you all for the incredibly informative and high quality videos!
They have a background in engineering and both are track monsters...
always interesting to nerd out with channels like SG and out of spec reviews
I'm an engineer. Speaking with you commoners can be quite taxing.
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
@@aditjindal Out of spec reviews is not even in the same universe as savagegeese as far as production quality is concerned. Not to mention the jokes, oh so many cringy jokes.
yeah gigantic difference vs some of the corpos at other companies
Also, what an absolute mogul lvl power stance by Jack to start this video off.
Lmfao…. 😂
his stance was so powerful it crashed youtube for me and I had to re-open the video
And man those pants have been pressed. Most likely with 10 ton press.
@@Unsalted375you know Jack asked for extra starch on those bad boys
Fashion Police Pro Tip: Jacket buttoned if standing. Unbuttoned when sitting.
This is such a terrific interview. The professionalism is Peak. The information is Peak. Jack's suit is Peak.
Jack absolutely dominating Rob's T-levels with the Alpha stance
Jack with the Power suit
Their shoes match. Cute.
Sad attempt to be the alpha. Unprofessional
Jack was concerned our Porsche friend was gonna go for the two-legged takedown followed up with some ground & pound….

savagegeese’s high status in the car reviews UA-cam world is evident by who they can get on camera. Good stuff here.
I'm continuously impressed with how informed and fluent these guys are with EV systems. This quality of interview is unrivaled.
Finally a SG EV video that is more than "Jack, this is first generation, it's a compliance car, it's an appliance..."
@@jeffdaley8597Jack’s an engineer so it’s his job to know the ins and outs.
The qualities of the car are zero though).
OK maybe interior.
Really? Maye its just me but I found something missing in the translation. I suspect its a first language thing.
German Mark is supremely knowledgeable.
Professionally done and presented. SG has once again set a high bar for automotive video journalism.
Porsche makes such beautiful interiors. Perfect steering wheels, elegant door cards, clean dash/center stack/cluster. Idk why every other car company is terrified of horizontal lines and concentric circles, but I’m so glad Porsche remembers how to use them. Elegant simplicity is aesthetically pleasing, all day every day.
Interiors are really all car makers have now to distinguish themselves and not even much of that with the similar screens.
It’s too bad the interior wasn’t attractively designed. Porsche kind of took a page from BMW, where cars like the new M2 are considerably uglier than the previous model.
Huh? If you say so.
Kudos to Porsche for giving this kind of access. It shows confidence in the product and lets an interested audience appreciate the engineering more.
Jack's such a flirt.
😘
tick tock
Sometimes I forget how well you all interview those engineers. That last question 😂. Great video as always.
That last question yielded a sales talk answer.
Maybe Jack did a Voight-Kampff test there. 😅
This was such a fantastic watch. Porsche really took their time planning and engineering it
I love how this dude keeps referring to "the customer" instead of the driver. Porsche understands the assignment lol. Great video as always.
You’re paying 6 figures for a car you’d hope they call you a customer
They ditched the mechanical tachometer on the next 911 and the Macan and Cayenne.
Well it's a Macan, not a 911.
You probably have more than one person inside it.
@@essel23fly just weird to me that they wouldn't say "driver" but they know what Porsche buyers like more than me
Marketing speak.
This is literally one of the best interviews I've seen in quite awhile, bravo Jack and the SG team.
Who are you talking to??
did savage get the exclusive 1st look on this?? not enough ppl are talking about this!! they’re the only channel that released after the Porsche Singapore event!!! fuck yeah !!! love to see it
Only Jack Singapore could
Seems like most did but are staggering uploads? autogefuhl, Out of Spec Reviews (guy who loves to hear himself talk) released videos as well.
That's a great looking car. i like how they were conservative yet futuristic with styling unlike BMW iX and the EQS.
I agree. And I think that this new Macan will stand out as a real driver’s car, with lots of grins from behind the steering wheel. This is much different than the latest BMW products, whose hideous external appearance brings ridicule whenever they are viewed. This new Macan is a vehicle that I would look back at it after each drive. Whereas with the BMW I would be looking around to see if anyone saw that I just drove that ugly thing.
congrats for getting such an early time slot for the presentation. This shows the well deserved appreciation for your work!
Killer interview Jack, I especially liked the “what’s the big differentiator” question. The EV era has barely started and the formula is already rote, hopefully these manufacturers find ways to keep these products interesting.
Good luck with differentiation when you remove the engines from the equation. This leaves chassis and design.
@@rlsedition And software. Which plays an even bigger part than before.
@@xzst Yes, just what I want in a vehicle - a moving iPad.
You act like ICE crossovers are hugely differentiated. The regular Macan has the same formula as like 6 other crossovers, yet feels different. I don't see why that would change with electrification. Even regular EVs feel different from each other
@@future62 No, most SUVs tend to look alike, be they ICE or EV. I'd say the Macan and Alfa Stelvio are a bit unique, being more like lifted hatchbacks than square SUVs. What we do know is that the EV versions will be heavier than the ICE models, to their detriment.
I can’t over the fact they still add the word turbo to their EV variants. It’s like they almost miss the ICE or something.
Turbo has become nothing more than a marketing term.
whats interesting is that few people bring up how a base 911 is turbocharged now, but then the Turbo still is its own trim
When I see turbo, I think less reliable after 4 years or 50k miles. Same with EV.
@@bassandtrebleclef As a matter of fact, that's the average number of years the buyer owns this level of car.
Its not so surprising. Most people have difficult time retraining their brains during the transition of word meaning. There was a time when bad meant bad, but now it can also mean good or bad. While I'm at it, if I tell you "your singing was terrific," is that a compliment or an insult?
Just consider we still refer to energy output rating in terms of horsepower. Which has nothing to do with actual horses.
BTW, when you're talking about your ICE vehicle's primary means of propulsion, do you say engine or motor? One more thing: is this 🔦 a flashlight or a torch?
This channel has come such a long way from the early days, congratulations to everybody involved!
Solid interview, no BS. Best car vid channel on YT.
Jack’s stance says I just came to this gig after nailing a job interview at MOPAR, drops mic, walks out LIKE A BOSS!
According to the configurator, oak green metallic is available as a color choice. Dope
wow, Jack asking the real questions and the answers making me want one of these!
Well done, Jack. I enjoy the deep dive videos.
You can tell Jack is in heaven as he's a Porsche guy. I get it, I am love them too. I won't be in the market for a new car for quite a while (and likely couldn't afford whatever this will cost), but it's still nice to see the engineering that goes into these things.
Congratulations! This is THE way to review vehicles. Probably the first UA-cam channel after Jay Leno's, to interview experts of the business and not just opinions!
We've had a Cayenne e- hybrid and now an Audi e-tron, I can't wait for this car.
As always, savagegeese’s videos are so far more informative than the rest, especially for those of us who want detailed engineering information. Great questions that were asked. Impressive Porsche from a functioning point of view. Less than enamored however with its looks. Thanks much Jack.
Jack this was an amazing interview. You really know your stuff.
Amazing editing as always too
I came for the Jack Singapore /Porsche Design belt and shoe collab.
Wow, great interview, Jack! You covered all of the important aspects of the new Macan, and went into great depth with the Porsche engineer, without filling the video with fluff. I really look forward to the future road test review.
So so so glad you guys got this for the embargo
One of the best videos of Mark and Jack. Congratulations for the production.
Incredible video yet again from the savagegeese team. The go-to to understand the engineering behind cars and to get beautiful b-roll along the way.
Actually, I think it looks stunning. Very smooth, clean lines, different from what most others are doing.
It’s an egg, good grief.
12:26 German sense of humor: “it’s a flat six!” Great video!
Really classed it up for this one. Stellar video quality as well.
Woah! This is a visually pleasing episode!
I am so glad that the charge ports migrated from the front fenders to the rear fenders. They also kept one per side which makes so much sense. This thing looks very good. I love that there won't be a "Coupe" version. Just make a single coupe like roofline and call it a day. Great work Porsche. Excited for the Taycan updates incoming.
Wow this content is amazing. Love this channel.
Porsche is rarely someone’s favorite brand but they are usually in the top 5 for most people. That’s an even better feat. They are badass
Looking forward to this one releasing. Even without considering driving dynamics, it has nice balanced length and battery size, top of the line charging speed, and beautiful shapes as always from Porsche. Only thing I'm not looking forward to is the cost, but this car does bring new stuff to the EV market.
I want to drive one for the weekend so much after seeing this video. Get a real taste of where they’re at with EV
I love internal combustion. ❤
Me too... But you can't ignore the crazy power and direct power ev motors.. once the weight and charging is figured out, ICE will be just collectable.
@@skippynj1979 Oh, just weight and charging? Is that all? What are you gonna do, defy the laws of physics and WILL the chemical reactions to be quicker? What about the 5,000 degree fires, the non existent range in cold weather, reduced range in hot, power grid limitations, lack of overall infrastructure, etc? No, sorry bub, EV's will be extinct in twenty years (for the second time) and I'll still be enjoying my classic 911 hotrod thank you very much.
@@overbuiltlimited😅 why does everyone have to take the extreme positions on EV? Either EV is the only future or EV is a fail. The truth is probably in the middle, 30-50% will be EV for the people it makes sense to economically.
@@mofayer @mofayer It would be one thing if greenies were happy to let the market play out. Always fun to find VW AG on high end cars.
As long as you’re not the buyer! Haha

Great interview and so much more insightful than the vanilla coverage of other outlets.
So many videos, what a great start of 2024!
That suit is very slimming. It's a good look, Jack.
Really slick video. Well done.
Very disappointed that Jack did not do enough representation for his Piano Black company. His belt buckle should have asserted dominance with a slab of piano black so massive and glossy that it would make the WWE and the S Class bow down in reverence.
Great interviewing by Jack. This has been the most informative video on an Ev for me.
Thanks for your incisive interview I really don’t miss the hyperbolic Snark present in so many of these things
Unfortunately, Taycan's reliability woes are keeping me away from another Porsche electric vehicle. I hope they've figured things out!
Same here, haven't heard any issues of the two gear electric motor but have heard multiple instances where the motors would just fail. I know someone who had their rear motors replaced 2 times during their lease. Across the forums it seems like it's a prevalent issue with Audi Etron and Etron GTs which shares a similar platform to the Taycan.
Get a 'real' Porsche
Yeah, the IMS bearing in the e-motors blows up and destroys the engine.
Love the continued Porsche coverage ❤
Best Macan reveal video out there
3:05 - as a former MK7 Golf R owner, I definitely got Golf (VAG) vibes seeing the rear hatch hardware, seats, etc. Amazing how that design language doesn't change much.
So excited to see a technical launch video, boys!
From an exterior design perspective - this is a beautiful looking machine!! 😍
Excellent presentation. Looking forward to the more hands on review.
I’ve owned Macans since late 2014. Just got a GTS last year. For my needs they are the perfect combo of size, quality and performance. I also have owned and currently own several other cars including other Porsches. I personally like engine noise so this car is not for me. I also frequently take long road trips and have no patience for changing on the go. However, I’m sure this will be a good seller for Porsche. Folks that like the qualities of EV driving will likely find an excellent, though predictably expensive, vehicle here.
Uhhhhhh, you’re right, it is expensive, it’s a Porsche.
Nice bragging man! 👍
@@oldschooltoonz Nope, just like The Guns of Will Sonnett. If you are old you will understand.
I like Jack's detailed, educated, and blunt questioning/interrogation
Great interview! You managed to make a Porsche engineer nervous with some of your questions.😆
I think he was surprised to see somebody who was very knowledgeable and that came up with very pertinent questions. I also appreciate Jack being very clear and detailed which help a non native English speaker understand him fully.
A great interview indeed and one that the Porsche representative will remember too.
I always loved the Macan. These look cool, too.
Great thing to see You guys do a format more formal. Lot of anxiety on Jack though :)
Stepping up your game guys, well done! I love the music too 🕺
excellent - thanks!
Very entertaining video and the car looks nice as well! Impressive externally even
Isnt it cute when everyone is trying to copy and keep up with Tesla tech from 2013, and they market it as if they came to their own conclusion that EVs in this architecture is the way ❤
Amazing that you guys got to do an in-depth interview with one of the engineers and Carwow can only put out a video telling the audience what they know about it; that speaks volumes to the amount of trust you've built and how comfortable the manufacturers are with knowing that you aren't going to misrepresent them (WHILE being honest to the viewers, and as you've both stated before, being honest with the viewers while maintaining a good relationship with the manufacturer is a _very_ difficult thing to do).
Great work, Jack.
Thanks!
Really nice ride. Great job Jack. Range is pretty good too going to the top of my cant afford it suv list.
I like that they placed the "Charging Ports" on the rear quarter panel.
As an owner of a 2023 Macan S, I’m intrigued to see how this compares. In terms of styling, I much prefer the ICE, but I have no doubt this will be excellent to drive. Porsche always gets that right.
great questions
Well done
Now THIS is an ESUV I'd love to drive! 😍
Excellent interview. Porsche EV's really make a strong case for the segment.
Sheeeesh Jack with the clean suit
Thats some hardball questions Jack! Gorrilla grip on them!
Peak video boys!
Your back seat model is gorgeous ❤
NOBODY does what you guys do … keep it up fellas!!
Yall are UA-cam Giants among others.

I didn’t think I could not care about the Macan more than I already did but an EV version certainly managed to do that for me. 😂😂
The car is fairly forgettable in normal guise, but as a porsche can still get ridiculously expensive. If you have the money why not get a the hot hatch, but its a crazy choice of car at spec
Interesting, and very impressive.
Looking sharp Johnny Porsche 😎😎
I know the answer is just "Because we have to change the least things from the gas version" but I'd love to know if these companies have plans to do more with hub motors, especially now that we are seeing lighter and lighter powerful motors with things like axial flux motors coming into the lime light so there are less worries or tradeoffs with unsprung weight. It feels like a really great chance to for once significantly lower the weight of these vehicles while making the interiors more spacious, so that is one of the bigger EV changes Im waiting to happen.
I feel as if this whole thing of having body mounted motors is really just a thing while we are in this transition phase. No doubt the future EV sportscars that will feel the best will switch to this to add lightness.
The immediate compromise of hub motors is them being exposed to the elements. Not just moisture and dust but rocks, curbs. Wheels and suspension live in the extremes of the drive, and having your powertrain there is risky.
It won't matter how light they get. Slapping on another 45-100 pounds per wheel wrecks the driving dynamics. Now, having them inboard and that light is incredible and I'm all here for making these things lighter.
@@air-headedaviator1805 I hear you, but its been done, and it turns out that this isnt actually that much of an issue. See the Rimac Nevera for instance or the Aptera.
There isnt really all that risk, especially as brushless motors really are far more rugged than people realize, and we've had sealed bearings for decades.
@@TheBCninjaI mean, it does matter how light they get doesnt it. At some point, with the smaller brakes you can put on EVs because of regen, you simply literally would hit the same weight regardless.
Furthermore, look at cars like the Rimac Nevera or Aptera and tell me those have bad dynamics.
@@BeefIngot he is talking about hub driven units. The cars you are bringing up are not.
Great interview. And the car is a homerun (current Macan owner).
looks great. Probably and EV I would lease.
