Another mudskippers species that I’m gonna get is called the Graceful Mudskipper. These guys are basically like the Indians but a little more peaceful so not as territorial. Great video Zenzo!
Yey for live stream!! I love your videos no matter how you shoot them....your tanks are always visually appealing and pristine!!have a super great day!!
I’m late to this party but your videos I’ve seen since I’ve subscribed have encourage me to believe I can properly keep pets like this. You make this obtainable.
Awesome mudskipper setup this is an excellent video you covered all aspects very informational...I didn't know there were different types..I can't wait to get started on my mudskipper setup... thanks bro 👍🏿
Its fun to see u as well.. tanks in the background.. focus on both.. fish.. etc.. its fun.. feeding fish.. or just watching fish.. watching u present ur fish room.. all is good..
LOL..too tight of a tee shirt, who said that? My favorite is the african mud skippers. they are adorable. You are doing fine, don't change anything. Have a great Sunday.
I you want to try to set up another brackish tank, you should try some smaller brackish fish like the indian glass fish or some fiddler or red claw crabs
I am doing a lot of research in hopes of having one one day. I have a 75 gallon tank can I put the small skippers in the bigger tank. How many should be together? Thank you kindly
How will we learn if you don't talk? You have a lot of good material to share and I want to learn about what you are doing. You don't talk too much, so keep going man!
I’ll give it a like and have been a sub. I like your style because you bring to the table knowledge and experience. I really appreciate the mud skipper info as I have one African mud skipper in a 55 gallon. Thank you
A dream tank of mine would be a 55 long brackish paludarium with three African mudskippers and a shotoudeni puffer. I have experience keeping cichlids in brackish tanks so I really think I can pull it off once I have the space to do it. This was some great info on mudskipper care.
Do you have a video on how you set up your 75gal African mudskipper tank? Ive been wanting to do a paladarium im just not 100% sure on how to build it. Awesome tanks by the way!!!
Great video those lil mudskippers are so flipping cute hahahaha. I would love to see the giant mudskippers in a setup now. Thanks for sharing happy fish keeping
Hello - cool video and awesome to see the mudskippers - I wonder is there any way you could have a mudwater tank so as they could make their U-shaped muddy tunnel nest and they could be bred in captivity!?
would require a complex setup of tidal changes 4-5 feet of mud alone and also probably a way to sustain free floating algae and microfauna for the fry so unlikely
Hi. That's the way to del with criticism. Take it and use it constructively. Suddenly I noticed how much you know about our hobby. Regards from Denmark
Do you know of anyone keeping mudskippers exclusively in freshwater for years? I have heard that over time the mudskippers start dying off if kept solely in fresh? It would be a lot nicer keeping them in freshwater because then you could have a wide array of other fish and plants with them. The problem with being limited to puffers is that the puffers will eat snails and if you are growing mangroves in a brackish tank you need a lot of light which produces algae problems...especially since mudskippers produce a lot of waste.
🤔yup-yup they new viewer are the person(s), that say stuff about your videos MR. Zenzo, and sometimes they're inconsiderate about the Love of the Hobby that we have, yet they just require some insight on they specific species in which they like to see on many other video's (FYI, I was one of them), now I'm an Aquarium Hobbyist 😎😎😎😁😁
ShadowMare Z you know what? That doesn’t even scratch the surface for how crazy they really are, if you can believe that. They’re living examples of convergent evolution reproducing fish that led to all terrestrial (vertebrate) life. Their genus Periophthalmus means “farsighted” in Greek, and they represent the only genus of fish that can blink! Why is that? Well it’s because they have eyes unlike any other fish, eyes that are not set in the face, but rather set atop the face and capable of rotating. These incredible eyes gives the mudskippers the ability to be hyper-aggressive predators as keen eyesight is nearly universal to carnivores. These eyes do have their drawbacks, though. Mudskipper eyes function much better in air than in water. Okay, so why is all this talk about mudskipper eyes important? Well, recent evidence has come to light that our ancestral fish that first left the seas were able to move to land not because of their adaptations in their fins, but because of their eyes. Their eyes enable them to hunt effectively on the top of the water, and eventually led to eyes suited to air. So the mudskipper is literally a living representation of one of the groups of fish that gave rise to frogs, snakes, squirrels, hyenas, dinosaurs, birds, you, and me. They’re so unassuming, but what they represent runs in the blood of every (vertebrate) animal that has ever lived on land. In my opinion, for whatever that’s worth, they are the coolest animals on the planet.
Yes, you are a very handsome man and definitely worth a look. But in comparison to the mudskippers? Well I’m sorry to tell that you are way less good looking, less interesting (behavior) and your eyes are too flat. 😆 Thanks a lot for these shots!

Awesome info, definitely helpful
Right on! You’d love the African variety. They’d look good in your fishroom, as you have a lot of big fish and big tanks!
Gosh i could watch these guys for hours 💚
Where can i buy mudskippers?
Please show how to build a tank for mudskipper. My tank sucks so my mudskippers are not happy
I’ll give it a like and have been a sub. I like your style because you bring to the table knowledge and experience. I really appreciate the mud skipper info as I have one African mud skipper in a 55 gallon. Thank you
Very cool! I've kept African ciclids but these guys look like fun.
Why haven't you given them a place to burrow..? Don't they naturally dig tunnels and reside in them?
Where to buy them? Thank you
Hard to find for sure. Ask you local fish stores to try and order them.

tetraodon schoutedeni is a freshwater fish, not brackish!
So for those of you that may be questioning the opening like me, the fish is not an amphibian, but it is amphibious able to traverse land.
Hey zenzo, great video, and do you think you will put crabs in one or both of your mudskipper tanks?
That would be so cool! I would just worry about the aggression in the tank
Do you have a video on how you set up your 75gal African mudskipper tank? Ive been wanting to do a paladarium im just not 100% sure on how to build it. Awesome tanks by the way!!!
Thanks! Start here, and then watch my video about “Mudskipper Island”: ua-cam.com/video/XQzTYvURNkU/v-deo.html
Great video those lil mudskippers are so flipping cute hahahaha. I would love to see the giant mudskippers in a setup now. Thanks for sharing happy fish keeping
Nice video , very informative content. Love the Mudskipper tanks.. have you seen or heard about successful breeding?
I’ve only heard about it once. They had to replicate the tides and they need mud to burrow in.
Great video as always brother!!! Beautiful little guys...quite amazing
Nice information

Run your channel *your* way - you've got over 28k subscribers so you're obviously doing something right! 😁
Thank you! Excellent point!
What time will the livestream be?
Probably around 1 or 2pm PST
Thanks!
are Indian and asain mudskippers the same
There are many species of mudskippers. Because India is part of Asia, it’s possible that they are the same.
In my too tight of a t shirt lol 😂 great video as always man 👍👍
Lol!!
How big of a tank would you recommend for one Indian mudskipper?
A single Indian mudskipper can be in a 10 gallon.

Not that I’m aware of. I agree with the balance of light, algae and nutrients. I’ve been good so far over the past several months.
ahhh, my favorite tanks on youtube
Very good vid.
At least you can keep them alive. I swear I can never keep them alive.

The mudskipper really is a crazy animal to watch, it's a fish that walks...
