I've loved Elvis since I first remember my mom playing his records when I was about 4 or 5. I particularly love this song and message. It is hard to do this sometimes when you get in a bad mood and become selfish and think you are the only one in the world with problems and stresses, but when you sit down and listen to the lyrics and have an ounce of empathy in your soul, you will know it is the truth.
I like your comments about not knowing what people are going through when you judge them. There is a short story I will paraphrase from a self-help book I read years ago. There was a man on a train and had 3 small kids with him. His kids were being a little rowdy and loud on the train and going up and down the aisles. Their father seemed to be in a daze and did not try to tell them to sit down and behave. There was a man sitting over in the next seat and kept watching this and became more angry and frustrated by the minute. Finally he couldn't take it anymore and said: "Mr. can you please do something about your children!" The father then snapped out of his daze and looked at the man and said: "Oh, I'm sorry. My mind has been distracted by some bad news. We just came from the hospital where their mother was sick and just found out she passed away." The man looked shocked and guilt ridden that he could sound so unkind during such a tragic moment with the man just finding out that his wife had passed away. This is a perfect example of why you should not prejudge and assume the worse without knowing what someone else is going through.

Imagine walking a mile in Elvis's shoes! All his fame and fortune brought him much despair! He couldn't live up to the image! He was human! Rest easy now Elvis! We understand and love you for the great person you were!

All popular singers, actors or actresses live in a secluded world, they can"t walk. or enjoy life as we can without getting mobbed by fans or the paparazzi, its no wonder they turn to drugs or alcohol to cope 😢

Great insight into Elvis's music. He lived the life he sang and it seemed that he had everything and he almost did. He was a kind and generous man but he had his demons. He died at 42 years old but he left us with great music ❤

Elvis said I feel alone in crowded rooms. But never when Lisa Marie is in the room with me. His biggest fear was that noone would remember him. He has Lisa Marie with him again. And I hope he knows he's never been forgotten ☮️❤️

...I've watched several of your videos...today I sub'd...Elvis was(probably at this time)if not the TOP entertainer on earth, very near the top...but, what made him SO SPECIAL...beyond his natural talent...is his kindness and genuineness. whether it was Graceland in Memphis, or, his Beverly Hills home, he would go to his gate and talk to his fans, or, maybe sign autographs...wow...talent personified.

He was a nice guy. He came from the black Ghetto, sang in a black church and was a Christian. He has been misunderstood for years. He was generous to a fault. Watch " Elvis Presley King of Kindness". Thanks for your reaction. Be Blessed.

Another great elvis reaction this song is so true before you judge someone you need to walk a mile in their shoes cause you just don't know what they might be dealing with in their life. I was always taught to treat others the way you want to be treated no matter what race they are and I always try to treat others with love and respect and taught my sons to do the same...cause you just don't know what someone else in life is going through .
Anyway this song is so meaningful and love how elvis sings it
Thanks for taking time out of your day to these reactions for us I really enjoy them hope your having a blessed day

Fantastic reaction! I think you'd really enjoy Elvis' gospel music. It was his favorite genre. A couple suggestions: Elvis How Great Thou Art 1972 very impressive (3:01) and Elvis Presley - He Touched Me (Official Audio) (2:41).

Always loved this, but many people are unaware of Elvis doing the little narrative before he sings. Your mention of Elvis "going up" on the word accuse is one of the unique things about his voice that i don't think many singers are able to do like he did. He had little nuances to his voice that no one has. A little background on this song: the words to this little “poem” are attributed to Native American tribes and from the poem by Mary T. Lathrap published in 1895, some of which said “You can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes." The original title of the poem was Judge Softly. For THAT VOICE, can you listen to "Tomorrow Never Comes" at ua-cam.com/video/QhYtB7pjkS0/v-deo.html -- starts out slow but builds & builds until his last line which may blow you off your seat. Thank you for your "little talk."
