Powder becoming Jinx is so heartbreaking. Silco really was one of the best parts of this series he wasn’t just some generic trashy villain he had so much depth and how he told Jinx he would never have given her to them was a massive gut punch.
The best part of Silco is that even to the end, the show is deliberately vague about whether or not he actually cares for Jinx or is just using her as a weapon. There are plenty of convincing arguments for both sides, and the show never picks one. It's a level of depth I did not expect when I first watched.
The reason they never gave powder a gun, is because there are very very few in the lanes. Im pretty sure the only guns we actually SEE in the Undercity, are enforcers guns, and Jinx homemade ones. So it makes sense that she never had a gun until she just built it herself.
Also, she's a 10 year old child and is not out to kill people. It's fascinating how people are willing to invent complex head canons to explain something so basic.

It just wasn't accessible. anyways chill with that weird condescending attitude over something that is not complicated, and just objectively true. The only guns seen in the lanes at any point are 3 kinds, Enforcers' rifles, Caitlyn's sniper rifle, and Jinx's homemade guns. No one else is shown to have one, and lets be a little honest, Fortiche don't animate things a certain way "just because". There's reasoning, and this is the most likely reason as to why a group of kids who wanna beat the enforcers like they did them, didn't get Powder her most proficient tool to do so.
I never thought I'd care about anything related to League of Legends until this masterpiece came along. The animation, characters, heartbreaking story, and especially the CaitVi scenes. It all just came together perfectly, and from what I've seen so far, Season two looks to be even better. I can't praise the people behind this show enough.
There are multiple single-player games in the LoL Universe. Ruined King, MageSeeker, Convergence. You can even play Legends of Runeterra, the current best way to experience the league's world

I just love occasionally rewatching “Bridging the Rift” as I draw or write - the 5-part behind-the-scenes documentary series Riot posted on the LOL UA-cam channel. It’s such a great insight to the pipeline and undoubtedly an even greater success story.
Whenever these guys start talking about how much the show makes them wanna play LOL and then they remember it's LOL, I think about how I watched Arcane with two friends who played LOL, fell in love with the show and was like "Should I start playing LOL too?" and they INSTANTLY told me not to.

I adore this series so much, the animation is absolutely gorgeous and incredible. I love that THE Imagine Dragons band not only made the theme song for this season, but also made the music video with them in the series and have them actually play in the street in the background of the series❤ 1:23:12 is where you start seeing the band in the series when they play their song
the biggest issue with heimerdinger is his inaction and just how out of touch he is with Piltover. Under his leadership he allowed a precarious and dangerous power imbalance between topside and the under city. He allowed the undercity to fall into a severe economic depression and allowed deadly air and water pollution on the population due to the mines they worked in to keep topside rich. he allowed corruption and greed to control the rest of the council while he also lavished in the luxury it afforded them. That’s why i love the opera scene, because while corruption and shady deals were happening all around him by Jace and Mel, he was too entranced in the music to notice. i like heimmerdinger and i know he has good intentions but he’s so far removed that a lot of what built up to all of this is his fault

Arcane could've premiered in 2020, but covid happened. if Riot also didn't postpone development, it's possible Arcane could've released around the same time as Spider-Verse, which would've made 2019 the best year for animation
I've always loved the ending. It's a very harsh reminder to the council that they don't get to walk away from this unscathed, that they can want to negotiate peace but the pain and suffering they have caused, all represented by jinx, doesn't go away because of that. A lot of people seem to interpret it as "the oppressors were gonna let them go if jinx didn't just do that last attack" but the peace deal was never gonna go through, because silco wouldn't surrender her.
The playable characters we have seen in S1 are Jinx, Vi, Jayce, Heimerdinger, Caitlyn, Ekko, Viktor and Singed. While Vi, Jinx, Jayce and Ekko all got to show off their weapons and abilities, the others haven't yet. There's also the assumption the guy in Jayce's flashback is Ryze but there's no indication on if he'll play any role other than Jayce's inspiration. This show is incredible and I'm extremely excited to see what's coming next in S2. It'd also be cool if some day we get another show delving into other parts of League's world, there's a lot of potential.
I have never wanted to climb into the screen and hug an animated character more than I did when Powder was bawling her eyes out in episode 3...she only wanted to help, man...😢 😭 💜 On another note: Massive props to Mia Sinclair Jenness on voicing younger Powder. She absolutely killed it! (Granted, everybody did)

But was she though? There were always little signs. The glitching in the beginning when her and Vi met Vander on the bridge, the extreme reaction when she got left behind (maybe in hindsight even her reactions in the monster game Vi described, but that could also just be confirmation bias). Little things were always there to hint at her instability. The trauma from episode 3 just pushed her over the edge, and the subsequent years with Silco made her plummet even further. In my opinion anyway.

The fact non-LOL fans like me can enjoy this show - amazing! If I engross anything League that isn’t Arcane, it’s the artstyle and world building ideas I could reference.
One of the (many) things I love about Season 1 of Arcane is that I understand where the characters are coming from. I may not agree with them, but I understand why they think the way they do, and why they do what they do. It's morally grey in a way that feels realistic and relatable. I can't wait for Season 2 to traumatize us fans even more. ;)
On one hand, I'm upset with myself that I only ever watched this show about 8 months ago...on the other hand, I didn't have to suffer as long to wait for season 2...so I'll take it. 💜

No spoilers, but I wonder how much Eric knows about the lore on the characters from league that play supporting roles in this, like the masked old "scientist" from Zaun, Viktor's "Glorious Evolution" or Vander's "condition". If you guys liked the show, I highly recommend you guys do a video reading and reacting to the in-game lore of the characters in the series. Some stories in the show are slightly different from the original lore, some have vastly different personalities and a couple take a very dark turn. Considering that Ruff and Boon are One Piece addicts, which usually means appreciation for deep, well-written characters in a vast world building with many continents and countries that serve both as the place of origin for those characters but also constantly changes because of those characters and their actions, that are both very unique and incredibly relatable in the sense that those places are all heavily inspired in real-world cultures and civilizations with politics, war and power struggles woven in mixed with high-fantasy magic, steampunk and cyberpunkish technology, some fantastical races and a generous dash of divinity, interdimensional hive-mind world ending eldritch creatures. The entire show only takes place on Piltover/Zaun, which is only one of the more than a dozen significant places in Runeterra(league official planet's name). They would quickly become obsessed with League's lore after learning a little about what those characters from the show become after or getting a glimpse of Demacia's mage hunt, or the Noxus-Ionia War.
In case someone hasn't told ya'll. Playable characters are: Vi, Cait, Jinx, Jayce, Heimerdinger, Ekko, Viktor and more recently, Ambessa. There are more showing up in season 2 and I CANT FUCKING WAIT

As a League player of over 10 years, I wholeheartedly endorse not playing it. Arcane has literally nothing to do with League of Legends, as a game, besides the characters and world.

Nah Ekko didn't. His abilities aren't present in s1. Even his classic weapon wasn't present.

No spoilers, but I wonder how much Eric knows about the lore on the characters from league that play supporting roles in this, like the masked old "scientist" from Zaun, Viktor's "Glorious Evolution" or Vander's "condition". If you guys liked the show, I highly recommend you guys do a video reading and reacting to the in-game lore of the characters in the series. Some stories in the show are slightly different from the original lore, some have vastly different personalities and a couple take a very dark turn.
Considering that Ruff and Boon are One Piece addicts, which usually means appreciation for deep, well-written characters in a vast world building with many continents and countries that serve both as the place of origin for those characters but also constantly changes because of those characters and their actions, that are both very unique and incredibly relatable in the sense that those places are all heavily inspired in real-world cultures and civilizations with politics, war and power struggles woven in mixed with high-fantasy magic, steampunk and cyberpunkish technology, some fantastical races and a generous dash of divinity, interdimensional hive-mind world ending eldritch creatures.
The entire show only takes place on Piltover/Zaun, which is only one of the more than a dozen significant places in Runeterra(league official planet's name). They would quickly become obsessed with League's lore after learning a little about what those characters from the show become after or getting a glimpse of Demacia's mage hunt, or the Noxus-Ionia War.
Real ones would know they did the first three eps already
