This is my favorite Zombie Movie, so here are some fun facts about this laugh till you die movie like: - This movies started Wright’s “Three Flavours Cornetto” trilogy with all 3 movies featuring a different flavor of Cornetto ice cream cone in each given movie with this one being the strawberry Cornetto to represent all of the blood 🩸 - This movie was inspired when they made their show “Spaced” when Simon Pegg’s character Tim was playing a zombie video game then hallucinates that he’s in a zombie invasion which gave them the idea, but this also some influence form Edgar Wright when he missed the entire foot & mouth disease outbreak in the UK - Now while the title "Shaun of the Dead” is a reference to George R. Re Black Books; the flat mate (Peter Serafenowitz) appears as well as Nick Frost, Simon Pegg and Jessica Heynes. The third main character; "Manny" played by comedian Bill Bailey appears as a zombie outside of the Winchester. Also, the character of "Tyres" from Spaced can be spotted as a zombie in the same scene.
The sadly-neglected and extremely likable 2006 Canadian zom-com _Fido,_ starring Billy Connolly and Carrie Anne-Moss, actually goes with the "service zombie" idea. Recommended!

How Ed after gotten bitten manage to stumble his way into Shaun's shed.

It’s hilarious how the end of this movie is one of the only zombie movies to accurately depict how a zombie outbreak would end. I get that it’s a better story for the world to end but, in America at least, the amount of firepower sitting around a military base as standard bulk equipment is insane. A few humvees with .50 cal hmgs would end hordes of zombies in less than a minute. The old Gatling gun from the civil war is why “horde armies” and victory through numbers went extinct in modern warfare. A single .50 cal will disintegrate the torso of a zombie and at least the next three zombies behind them. At a rate of hundreds of rounds per minute with a target rich environment like a zombie horde, it’s never becoming an issue beyond that first outbreak. That’s not even considering tanks, helicopters, a-10 warthogs, drones etc… in the modern world there is no way a zombie outbreak would kill the world. Change it massively? Probably but it would be contained and over in a day or two.
Shaun of the Dead is a great horror comedy, as Boom points out a lot of British actors who at the time were only in obscure tv shows that made it big, the one you couldn't get the name of was Matt Lucas, best known for Little Britain but also appeared in Doctor Who, Paddington, Wonka, and the Great British Bake Off. The film works as a more grounded response to a zombie apocalypse, Shaun so stuck in his routine that he barely notices at first. The writing and direction also gets a lot of praise due to the framing, camera movement and foreshadowing, all common traits with the 'Cornetto Trilogy' - alongside having similar castmembers, a fence scene, and a different flavoured cornetto featured. Definitely watch Hot Fuzz, for my money it's the best one, The World's End is decent but probably not as good as the other two, great fight choreography though. I'd also recommend Paul, it's not Edgar Wright but it's Pegg and Frost in a Sci-Fi story.
