"You Didn't Know" is such a powerful number, really calling out Seraphin and the Exorcist's way of thinking. I especially love when Charlie and Emily sang the refrain of "Hell Is Forever." With new lyrics that fit their point. That part went so hard.
So fun fact, Em looks young and acts relatively young, but she's probably like... Several thousand years old. She's literally the Angel that was crated as Lucifer's replacement, which is why she's so jolly and joyful like we're told Lucifer was before being cast down into Hell.
@@colt1903 Oh, absolutely. The implications of Heaven even wanting to replace him would be interesting too (did it maybe feel like something was missing after he was cast down and if so, what does it say about them that they decided replacing him with a "better" version would be the solution instead of trying to reach out).
@iLiketoLaugh123 I mean, in their defense, the whole family more or less seems to have had one of those big arguments that fractures the family structure. The kind that makes it pretty damn hard to get back in touch and work things out without feeling awkward.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how much Angel Dust has grown as a person? The way he protects Niffty and stood up to Val. He's come a long way from his pilot self. I'm proud of our Spider boy. Also, the way Charlie and Emily reprise the refrain of "Hell Is Forever." with new lyrics that call out Sera and Adam's hypocrisy is just glorious. "You Didn't Know" as a whole is amazing, but that part hit's especially hard.
Well they say next, “if angels can do whatever and remain in the sky.” I’ve noticed as a Christian, that one of the biggest issues some others have is looking down on others, but not acknowledging their own flaws. Not everyone does this, but I also like the reference to that. It’s a good message.
Not really, hell should be forever for evil people just like heaven is forever for good people. From what ive seen, none of the human souls are actually reedemable right know. Its not just acting good for the sake of it. They need to be good inside too and actually doing good things because they want to.
*as a side note, it's worth noting that despite being small, nifty is canonically an adult in her early 20's (or was when she died) and was a 50's era housewife, hence the poodle skirt, we don't know how she died or what her sin was but..given her neuroses about cleaning and fondness for butcher knives, I'd wager she murdered an overbearing or abusive husband who badgered her about her cleaning.
or she died with an overdose of cleaning products. A lot of cleaning freaks tend to mix cleaning products to get stronger versions and the toxic fumes sometimes kill them. Also i think she eould be the overbearing and abusive wife.
I've always felt the difference between Adam and Sera is the motivation and their feelings on the extermination. Adam revels in the murder and carnage and views it as a game while Sera views it as a necessary evil and doesn't seem to want to talk or think about it.
I'd maintain that makes sera much MUCH worse than Adam. She's propping up a system of prejudice and letting others get their hands dirty, while covering up their crimes. Like a corrupt southern sheriff keeping up a polite front while covering up lynchings by the KKK during segregation, and blocking attempts by victims families to get justice.
It just always breaks my heart to hear people assume Charlie wouldnt care about Vaggie's past actions and lies :( theyve been in a relationship for 3 years and Vaggie never told her, when she knew Charlie was so forgiving? Charlie is devastated because she thought they shared everything and Vaggie, of ALL people, would share her sins to start her redemption. (I feel for Vaggie too - she was maimed and that was likely so traumatic for her, plus the fact she didnt want to ruin what her and Charlie were building). Idk man just hardly any reactors who see Charlie's heartbreak as valid
I wonder if one reason is that onscreen it's framed more as "not telling" than directly lying. But Vaggie must have lied. Charlie would have wanted to hear about Vaggie's life on earth, who and what she loved, stories about the living world. We saw it demonstrated that she's a terrible liar, so my guess is Vaggie pretended to be so traumatized by her fall and terrible injuries that she could not talk about her past. And she must have kept up that pretense for three years while Charlie tried her best to be supportive and respectful and healing. They're a great couple and I never thought this would divide them for long. But I can see how it would have hurt Charlie so much. Not just one big lie, but a continuing act of deception. And - I just thought of this - Vaggie's complete devotion, her being upset in episode 3 and saying "what's the point of me if I can't make your dreams come true?" That's _guilt_, not love. Ouch.
Very interesting that there are now three different motivations here regarding extermination. Charlie believes this is happening because of overpopulation. Adam is doing it because he thinks it's fun. Sera justifies her actions to Emily by claiming sinners were uprising. I'll expand on it later but it's interesting to see how these different perspectives have emerged.
plus when Angel told Valentino about the loophole in his contract, it was the best part of this episode, Angel can only do what Val says when he's at the studio but outside the studio he's a Free Man
And i think (not sure if it's true) that's why valentino was mad at the fact that angel moved to the hotel, because angel living in the studio means valentino had him much more time
I wanted to add on to yalls discussion about Charlie and Vaggie and the reveal. One factor I think you guys forgot to consider is timing. Assuming you guys have seen Episode 7 by now, you know just how long that secret was kept from Charlie. Major secrets are already scary enough to reveal when they're fresh because you know the damage they can do, but waiting too long makes the damage even worse. Especially when relationships change during that time and new layers of trust are added. Even while learning how understanding and forgiving of a person Charlie is, Vaggie likely wondered if this secret would be the one thing that crosses a line because I think part of her doesn't fully trust Charlie's capacity for forgiveness (understandable given the massive paradigm shift she experienced after being exiled from Heaven). But now so much time has passed since the incident and THAT is gonna make things worse; the fact that such a big secret was kept for so long. Usually after that amount of time, the one being lied to will wonder if the liar was ever going to tell them the truth at all. And that is where trust starts to fracture. Not saying this will end up being the case for Charlie and Vaggie, but sometimes too much time passing will be the straw that breaks the camel's back; waiting is often more painful than telling the truth sooner.
Ironic. Charlie's daddy issues are so severe that she didn't even realize that she was dating an angel like her father is. Originally, Vaggie was suppose to be a different variation of a moth demon like Valentino is, but fans theorized that she was an angel and the creator of the series liked that, so they wrote it in. I always wonder who names their kid Vaggie and then this episode explains it and why it is.
@@tobsonasanya4765 nah, we had a fairly extensive backstory for her that wouldn't work with her being an angel. Remember, these characters have existed for a LONG time, viv had a lot of time to develop them, and play with their backstories, and has been extremely willing to discuss lore with fans for like...10 years before the show released. We just usually don't have this kind of insight into the creative process so we don't see ideas grow and change like vaggie's backstory.
@TheMadhatter1313 that's not confirmation. The character she was based on from The Unfinished zoophobia comic was a moth demon. Confirmation would be someone now saying that it was a retcon, otherwise I'm just assuming it's a bait and switch and this was always the intention
This might be my favorite episode in Season 1. We meet Emily, the first friend and ally Charlie gets in Heaven. We get my favorite musical line of the whole season. And we realize that no one actually knows for sure what separates the sinners from the winners, not even the Angels. Not to mention the Chaggie drama. I am so ready to witness Montana's absolute rage at Adam for what he's about to pull.
It's less excitement that they're fighting and more excitement at what that fighting means. Them fighting means some of them are agreeing with her which is a huge success for her.
I love how this episode also manages to show how biases work. Heaven was shown to be perfect, but 99% of people watching were waiting for the big reveal of how shitty heaven is (which never came true). Before we've been shown only egoistic Adam and racist Lute, so we assume most of heaven is as shitty as them. But it turns out most people in heaven are good. Even Sera, despite allowing exterminations, only did it out of fear of losing the paradise she was tasked to protect. (It justifies her decision, but not the consequences) This reaction was one of the fairest ones I've seen.
It's why I've always read the court scene as being similar to court scenes you'd see in movies about segregation and the civil rights movement, with Sera as a racist white supremacist judge trying to politely uphold the established order (and threatening emily when she questions it) They don't know what gets you into heaven for the same way a racist or nationalist can't say why their people are better, because they aren't, because it's arbitrary, luck of where and to whom you are born. When sera says there are things charlie doesn't understand, it's not anything real, it's just her patronizing what she sees as an inferior being, and when backed into a corner, she just arbitrarily ends the trial and rules in the system's favor. I very much see Sera as this world's greatest villain to this point. She's hiding behind a system of prejudice with "this is the way it's always been done" and looking the other way when the more brutish members of her faction commit extra-judicial violence to keep the other in their place. Like a judge refusing to prosecute lynchings, covering for the klan whilst acting as a roadblock when the victims seek justice. Honestly, I don't really know if this is Viv's intent with this scene and the dynamic between heaven and hell, but it sure seems like they are playing at commoner/nobility or civil rights style conflict here. Especially when you consider hell in this universe functions somewhat like a prison colony, with the elites in heaven simply dumping anybody they don't want to deal with there, anybody who questions the established order, and likewise is terrified of them becoming their own nation, of asking for equality or taking revenge, hence the annual purges, to keep hell in it's place. I'll be real interested to see what angle season 2 takes when it arrives next spring.
@@bryanmoberg8408 To be fair, the only reason Sera and the other angels don't know what it takes to get into heaven is because of Lucifer. It's said that hell was created as a consequence of Lucifer giving the apple to Eve. Prior to that, humans either didn't die or if they died, they went to heaven because it was literally the only option. Thanks to Lucifer, the angels no longer know how their own creations work. The original plan for them was derailed by him. With the creation of hell, humans were able to end up there. The angels know humans are being judged, but they don't know under what parameters (maybe don't even know by who). They just have to have faith in this judgment. So I think when Sera says to Charlie that there's a lot that she doesn't know, it's true. Charlie's young, has grown up sheltered, and was raised by two parents that don't take accountability for their mistakes. She barely knows anything in the grand scheme of things. I also don't think they are judging sinners for no reason. They can see hell from their portals, they are able to see all the atrocities being committed. There's also the very likely possibility of Lilith or Lucifer having attacked heaven previously, which is why they fear the numbers of sinners appearing in heaven out of nowhere. I think if you want to make that comparison about the society, you would have to acknowledge the class divide inside of hell. Most of the problems in hell are the consequence of Lucifer and Lilith's rule. The biggest class divide are between the hellborn and sinners against the nobility and royal family of hell, which Charlie is literally part of. You could see it that way, but until we found out what force is the one judging the sinners (whether is a God of some type, or just the universe or whatever), then we just take what the show has given us: the elites of heaven don't know what judges humans, so they aren't the ones sending them there. That doesn't mean the judgement is incorrect or biased (specially in a show that takes influence from religion). You can even argue that hell isn't really a prison. We're not sure if Lucifer is kept prisoner there or if he can go to earth and is just banished from entering heaven. The sinners can't leave because they are literally dead. The only thing that may disprove it is the cherubs from HB and Vaggie, but again, they may just be forbidden from going back to heaven. The exterminations are the only form of punishment given from heaven, otherwise the sinners aren't really being punished for their sins by anyone. Also, hell is already a nation. It's a monarchy, and Lucifer is a the top. So, Lucifer should answer for almost all of hells problems (like equality). The revenge aspect, I think it would be contraproductive. If they go to an all out war, well, I don't think it's a war they can win, but who knows. Overall, I think I find it a bit difficult to associate heaven and hell in the show to two countries in the real world. Because in the context of the show, the angels created the cosmos, and the earth, and the literal human race. So I think it's normal that they feel like a indomitable force compared to the unkept, newer hell. I think more responsibility goes to Lucifer than some fans like to admit.
@@valentinkambushev4968 I've always viewed it as whatever sorting is going on to put sinners in hell and virtuous in Heaven probably does work... at least as much as a binary idea of good and evil can, anyways. But people can still change both for the better (in Hell) or the worse (in Heaven). And then of course you have the hellborn who never actually sinned in the first place, but that's mostly a different series.
Well Charlie DEFINATELY doesn't draw the line at murder, at least one of her guests is a murderer in life and nearly ALL of them have killed in hell. Alastor was a serial killer.
My theory on why Adam isn't a Sinner is because in this version of the story, he never ate the apple. Only Eve did. Therefore he could not have sinned because he doesn't have the knowledge of good and evil.
this episode has an interesting comment about people who are not even willing to doubt there social system because of it because they benefit from it while others suffer and I really Just Love Emily
@@lasseehrenreich5502 but it falls a little flat when 99% of the people who suffer are awful human souls who neither regret nor want to repent for their actions.
@@valentinkambushev4968 I agree it could have been written a little bit better but someone in hell is trying to get better like Pentious and this time for a real angel while it is allowed terrible people like Adam to be in heaven no matter what he does The angels don't even know what they allowed someone to get into heaven my biggest problem with the system is that it is not even possible to ask questions about it without risking falling
@@valentinkambushev4968 ehh...a lot of the sinners we see in this and helluva boss don't seem to be all that bad. There is a definitely a thread of people getting dammed arbitrarily. There is certainly a running theme of hell being very very lgbtqia+ friendly because a lot of good people got sent to hell simply for who they loved (including vaggie in her original backstory) A theme that hell is actually becoming nicer than heaven because heaven is like a white supremacist country club and hell is just...everybody else. Plus, there are all the natives, demons like charlie, the imp crew, stolas, ozzie and so on. They were simply born there. I think of hell (pride more specifically) as a prison colony (like Australia was) some people were sent there because they deserved it, some were sent because they were "undesirables" or offended the wrong noble/person in power, and a lot...were simply born there. They still suffer from the surrounding environment of the prison, but they didn't do anything wrong themselves. Yet heaven still looks down on them as inferior. I feel this is part of the point of the angels not knowing what gets people into heaven, it's revealing that it is arbitrary, it's not merit based, it's simple luck, or who you know, which is very reminiscent of similar discussion of social classes in the real world.
Far as I know, Pride used to have native species, who may have been crowded out. Having access to the other rings isn't the same as having access to what _was_ their home So there's probably resentment brewing over that, somewhere.
When you are lied to by someone you love and trust, I doesn't matter how understanding you are. How forgiving you are, how empathetic you are... They still lied to you and that #?!* hits deep...
The duet "You Didn't Know" is one of my favorite songs/moments in this whole amazing season. Trivia: most of Angel Dust's family is in hell. They appear in the afterlife as spiders because they were involved in organized crime or something. Anyway, Angel has ONE relative who went to heaven instead of hell. She makes a cameo as a background character during St. Peter's "Welcome to Heaven" song.
Honestly, every reactor has a moment where they go "Charlie shouldn't be that upset about Vaggie's past, she's all about forgiveness". And every time I find myself thinking, "if Oscar Schindler discovered that his girlfriend used to work as an SS in Auschwitz, I think it'd be unreasonable to expect him not to get upset".
notice how when emily responds her eyes glow with actual heavenly white light and her eyes on her wings and crown open. im curious where emily came from. sera says shes older but that begs the question where does a new seraphine come from? is she a heavenborn as charlie is a hellborn?
@@ubadman1 my prediction is that at some point, Lucifer and Sera did the good ol' "Devil's tango" (literally, this time), and that's how Emily came to be.
Someone else said something that I think it very plausible, which is that Emily was created in place of Lucifer. Her, Sera and Lucifer are all heaven born. Might as well throw Adam in there for extra credit. He's been in heaven several times longer than he was a human.
@@valentinkambushev4968 ehh, lucifer has been banished for a very long time, and emily seems younger than that. If anything they might share a mom. But I think it's more likely that she is just another young person who is a free thinker and willing to question the established order, a mirror to charlie, but not a relative.
I've watched so many reaction channels react to this series but I think you're the first ones to point out that Nifty was grabbing the ingredients for mustard gas xD
If you want more lore then you should definitely watch Helluva Boss because that show does a much better job of flushing out the worldbuilding than this one does
@@valentinkambushev4968 Helluva develops his characters and their relationships better. Just because you don't like Stolas and Blitz shouldn't reduce the show to just a cheap yaoi fanfic. I'll bet anything that if the relationship they focused on instead was Blitz with a girl like Verosika, crappy fans like you would be thrilled and happy. Because they like cheap crap and are also homophobic to death at heart. So keep your comments to yourself, no one asked your opinion.
@@siv4975 No, I hate any romantic subplot that hijacks the main plot to the point where I have to remind myself: "Oh yeah, this is a show about imp assassins killing people."
@siv4975 Also, I don't like how much the show in season 2 wants to present Stolas as the "soft boy, who did nothing wrong" while painting Blitzo as the Devil.
I know songs have to be edited for copyright, but it hurts having two of the best parts of "You Didn't Know" get cut: Adam/Lute: "There's no question to be posed, he's unholy, case closed. Did you forget that Hell is forever?" Charlie/Em: "If Hell is forever, then Heaven must be a lie."
It really hits as someone who has suffered at the hands of the “church” but also loves canon Jesus as a person. He was dope as hell and so DIFFERENT irl than modern Christianity. I’m also polytheistic, so I’m definitely NOT Christian in any shape of the word
True tho, I would be fine if they cut everything else other than that Emily and Charlie bit, and Lute's part. Sucks, but at least they kept most of the song.
I'm pretty sure that "Stick it to the Man" is an actor allusion - that's the title of one of the songs in the Broadway musical _School of Rock,_ which Alex Brightman starred in. Also, by Catholic dogma at least, Adam does bear the Original Sin (disobedience against God), which is why the souls of all humans, as descendants of Adam, are stained with it and we need the sacraments of the Catholic Church in order to go to Heaven.
I see a lot of people, like a LOT of people, reacting to Vaggie being revealed as a former exorcist as "Oh Charlie won't even care, she's like the nicest person, why would she even care?" And then they're surprised at how hurt she looks during the reveal. So it's true that Charlie would likely FORGIVE her for killing Sinners if she wanted to redeem herself, that's kinda her whole thing. HOWEVER, Vaggie HID this from her for their ENTIRE RELATIONSHIP. They're DATING, and Vaggie NEVER told her something THIS important. Charlie, then heard it from ADAM, in the middle of a hearing to try and STOP HER PEOPLE FROM BEING SLAUGHTERED. That's BAD. Vaggie hiding this secret from her might've thrown off the entire momentum of her argument, after Adam reveals this she falls to her knees and Sera immediately takes the chance to say case closed. Charlie IS incredibly forgiving and kind, so it hurts even more that Vaggie WOULDN'T tell her a secret like this. HIDING it is what hurts her so much. Charlie is kind to a fault, but she's not PERFECT. She has flaws like everyone else, her flaws are just geared towards generally being naively kind to people that probably don't deserve kindness at the moment, or being easily manipulated. She can still get ANGRY though, and learning Vaggie's enormous secret from SOMEONE ELSE is a BIG arrow to the heart. Finding out your lover has been keeping a secret from you from HER, is one thing. If Vaggie had grabbed Charlie before the hearing, told her about her being an exorcist, then it probably would've hurt a bit because she'd been hiding this, but it's a "We can talk this out later, thanks for telling me though" kind of hurt. She CONTINUED to hide it though and ADAM exposed the secret in front of every big shot in heaven during a really important hearing to decide the fates of all the sinners in hell. NOT EVEN CHARLIE is going to hand wave that away. Especially not on the spot.
19:23 it's not the swearing specifically they're reacting to. They didn't react when Vaggie did it, but until this moment, Charlie was carrying her a specific way (similar to them who don't swear), so they're taken aback when she does due to that.
From a partner's perspective, I do agree that Charlie would 100% be okay if Vaggie had told her before and explained her situation. Charlie was basically just hurt because she had to find that secret out from someone else instead of from Vaggie... and they got to rub it into her face during a crucial point where they were trying to make a case for redemption. Charlie's reaction was pretty spot on tbh.
Adam and lute are easily the best duo, it’s so cute how when one is singing the other acts as the hype man for them. Plus that bar from lute was straight fire.
This part of the “You Don’t Know” song hurt me so badly. Vaggie literally begging these people who mocked her, made homophobic, lewd remarks about her relationship to her face, permanently maimed her and left her to die not to take this away from her. Not to take Charlie away from her, the one good thing she has. The way to redeem herself, to have some worth again, to do something good when she’s done so much wrong.
Lute's statements are not really meant to be homophobic, tho they can pass very well. By 'vile and blasphemous' Lute meant that it's because Charlie is a demon, and Vaggie is an angel. Otherwise, I agree. Her whole character is just tragic.
One thing I think is a good thing to point out that is that we don’t know how much Sera knows about what is going on in hell, she’s the only one that specifically mentions an uprising from hell, with Adam having come up with the “solution” Also when Sera is talking about having their own souls to protect she’s most likely referring to the human souls that made it to heaven, not her and Emily’s.
Adam got in largely because of nepotism. He got a pass on some sins and he couldn't commit any at the time. Pride: first man and this heaven's golden child Lust: Lilith and eve were the only women around Envy: loathed Lucifer for taking Lilith away from him. Wrath: he hates Lucifer, whom heaven kicked out. Free pass Greed: he had to scrounge daily for things Gluttony: he has to share his bounty with other humans. Sloth: he couldn't be lazy or he would die.
I really hope it isn't just the "good guys are bad guys, and bad guys are good guys" trope. I want to believe there really is another plotline that occurred that setup the exterminations in place in the first place that caused Sera's fears in hell's uprising and it goes back to Ep1's story of how Lilith prospered in Hell.
Hey guys just wanted to warn you there’s been a huge HAZBIN leak online about Alastor and a few songs so be so very careful about it if you don’t wanna be spoiled
I was under the impression that humans do go to the other rings depending on what acts condemned them to hell. I may be wrong though. I did hear that only hell born could traverse the rings though. Sinners were stuck on whichever ring they were sent to originally.
Just checking out some of your commentary. Very nice to listen to. My theory is that Sera is referring to Overlords contracting souls and thus giving them power. Plus when one of their own died that just heightened the paranoia Sera already had.
I love just how completely and instantly emily turns on Sera when she finds out the truth. It's such a cool character moment, she learns something that is a dramatic betrayal of her beliefs and doesn't try to justify or rationalize it like the rest of the angels, she immediately sides with Charlie.
During the first song you can actually see Angels younger sister. His family were part of the Mob. Angels mother and sister werent part of it so they are in heaven.
I made me realized after thinking about vaggie that her hesitation in killing that one kid makes no sense if she has been killing thousands before and its not like this is the first time she killed a kid sinner as hell has those. So them showing her being hesitant to killing one sinner because they are what cornered and a kid makes no sense, especially if she has been doing this for years.
Personally I think what redeems a soul fully is that they have to want it and or that think they deserve it Along with making noble choices It isn't just their actions, they have to want it Many souls in hell do not want or think they are worth redemption Angel hates himself and doesn't think he is worthy that's his biggest obstacle to redemption...
Its funny that we're seeing this show from Hells perspective, it lets us understand and relate to "not nice" people. I know this episode does everything it can to put Heaven in a bad light but i cant help but think that from the angels probably think they're doing nothing sinister or wrong. Protecting the good and innocent by punishing the wicked and sinful, you know like what Sera was saying at the end of the episode.
When you're finished with the series, be sure to watch the fan song EMILY FALLEN ANGEL SONG - I'd Fall Again | Hazbin Hotel Animatic |【Original Song By MilkyyMelodies】 as you can see a possible scenario of how things could continue with Emily and Serah (don't watch beforehand because of spoilers) 😁
I never considered there was someone about the seraphim doing the judgement I always thought it was something that just happened, like the machine of heaven and hell itself judges a soul and sends them upon death.
Same, and that kinda bothered me a lil bit. They are not the ones to judge souls yet at the same time, it is kinda weird that a seraphim, the highest position in heaven, who was also there since the world's creation, would not know how someone gets into heaven. They might not be the ones to judge souls, yet 'souls in hell can't be redeemed'? Like how you know that lol
First of all: Nice backround music for the fence part. If i am not complete crazy, that was a remix of a theme from the deathnote ost? I think this episode shows best the strenghts and weaknesses of this show. They establish interesting topics in comprehensive and engaging ways. But on the downside they lack the time to develope them fully or give them the breathing room they need. I really wish they had more or longer episodes 😅
my theory is adam was a better person when he first got into heaven but after thousands of years of years being who he is in the position he is in with nobody but a select few angels that could judge him because he has the excuse of i was the first angel in heaven has made him the garbage we see today what ever flaws he had when he went into heaven with has only been amplified by years of festering
I think he was always just like this. In the beginning, we see that Lilith fled the garden because her and Adam were equals, yet he demanded control. I don't think he is necessarily bad, just very cocky. And as the first man, he got away with it for the longest time.
@@zuzu6864 thats what im saying he was created and born flawed which is ok but after thousands of years of being on top with basically nobody to put him in his place or to tell him he can and should be better his flaws grew into something more
"Stick it to the Man" is a reference to a song the voice actor sings in School of Rock musical (which he stars in). It is also likely that "the man" is God, given that Adam and Eve essentially stuck it to God when they ate the forbidden fruit.
If it helps you can rewatch the first episode where it goes over what the “uprising” thing was about in the show intro I believe but yeah I agree she is as evil but not as directly aggressively hostile in your face about it but she prob values the demons as much as Adam does.
"if you start to question, you could end up like lucifer......fallen" its not even a threat. its a promise. but i do hope emily decided to be fallen then it would force sera to rethink allowing the exterminations since her sister would be down there in hell as well
I feel like a great explanation for heaven to allow human souls is: to not fall to temptations and the evil decisions that humans are being constantly thrown at. If a person dies by and does not do horrible things like killing or cheating while married, then you go to heaven , while people who do those thing go to hell.
hey kenny, i was just watching your attack on titat reactions and wasn't able to find the reaction for the final season part 3 special 1. Did something happen with the video? if not why is it not available? Sorry if this comment seems desperate but i'm truly heartbroken and dont know how to proceed without that reaction. Thank you very much in advance
when lute called it blasphemous is because it's an angel and a demon its cannon that there is no bigotry in heaven the people in heaven are objectively better people and sara is a good person she lost one of her best friend fall (lucifer) and became terrified of losing Emily and others there is no corruption in heaven
Talking about the other rings of hell. Are you going to react to Helluva Boss too? It´s more story driven than Hazbin and in my opinion more mature. Although it features less songs, the songs that are in Helluva Boss carry more weight in my opinion.
Adam pov: Life was the test, we've been graded and there is no extra credit. No matter how well you behave, hell is forever, and conversely no matter how awful I am, my heavenly reward cannot be revoked.
Another great reaction from you guys. Also, im hoping you guys can react to the apothecary diaries (dubbed). The male lead has the same voice actor as gojo. Its really one of the better romance animes out there

One thing I dont like about Val is that my nick name is Val it’s valerie
"If hell is forever then heaven must be a lie" is the greatest mind stimming part
"You didn't know" is probably my favorite song of the series. Maybe tied with "More than anything". Emily's rebuttal is just amazing
I'm not 100% sure, but I've heard that Lute will get a solo song in the future. Boy, do I look forward for that. Jessica Vosk is killing it.
She does. Jessica Vosk said so and also there was a leak with the song. I feel like it’s okay to say that because Jessica already confirmed it

Vaggie's part in "Whatever It Takes" has so much more meaning

Ouch.
13:04 I like the detail that they both wear their pilot outfits here
Very interesting that there are now three different motivations here regarding extermination. Charlie believes this is happening because of overpopulation. Adam is doing it because he thinks it's fun. Sera justifies her actions to Emily by claiming sinners were uprising. I'll expand on it later but it's interesting to see how these different perspectives have emerged.
plus when Angel told Valentino about the loophole in his contract, it was the best part of this episode, Angel can only do what Val says when he's at the studio but outside the studio he's a Free Man
And i think (not sure if it's true) that's why valentino was mad at the fact that angel moved to the hotel, because angel living in the studio means valentino had him much more time
@@eriksepulveda1558 Yes indeed, that's my take on that scene as well. It really was a big loss of power for him.
Is that confirmed? I remember back when they said she was a moth demon but I always just assumed that they lied back then not that they retconned now
Or maybe her being an angel was planned
@@noremac7216 yep. In earlier renditions of the character, and in the pilot episode, Vaggie was a Sinner demon who died in 2014 around or in her 20s.
I am so ready to witness Montana's absolute rage at Adam for what he's about to pull.
we have the little cameo of angel's sister as well
I've yet to see anyone comment on Charlie's excitement for the fact that citizens of Heaven were fighting.
It's less excitement that they're fighting and more excitement at what that fighting means. Them fighting means some of them are agreeing with her which is a huge success for her.
@-Offstar yeah I figured she thought it was a very successful moment, but I read it more another way. To each their own.
(It justifies her decision, but not the consequences)
This reaction was one of the fairest ones I've seen.
@@narindercatt2230 Heaven: 99% good people, with 1% bad people.
Hell: 1% good people, with 99% bad people.
@@bryanmoberg8408 what do you think will happen with heaven and with Sera next seoson?

@@bryanmoberg8408 Viv has actually confirmed that LGBT+ people do not go to Hell because of their sexualities.

Lute and Adam's lyrics on this song might be my favorite lyrics on the whole show 🤩
To be fair to Charlie, she has every right to be shocked and upset. People have to work through those kinds of things at their own pace.
notice how when emily responds her eyes glow with actual heavenly white light and her eyes on her wings and crown open.
im curious where emily came from. sera says shes older but that begs the question where does a new seraphine come from? is she a heavenborn as charlie is a hellborn?
@@ubadman1 my prediction is that at some point, Lucifer and Sera did the good ol' "Devil's tango" (literally, this time), and that's how Emily came to be.
Someone else said something that I think it very plausible, which is that Emily was created in place of Lucifer. Her, Sera and Lucifer are all heaven born. Might as well throw Adam in there for extra credit. He's been in heaven several times longer than he was a human.

don't add to the genius counter for guessing it after it was revealed 😭
I know songs have to be edited for copyright, but it hurts having two of the best parts of "You Didn't Know" get cut:
Adam/Lute: "There's no question to be posed, he's unholy, case closed. Did you forget that Hell is forever?"
Charlie/Em: "If Hell is forever, then Heaven must be a lie."
I originally thought Charlie and Emily were voiced by the same person too, they sound so alike!
I'm pretty sure that "Stick it to the Man" is an actor allusion - that's the title of one of the songs in the Broadway musical _School of Rock,_ which Alex Brightman starred in.
Also, by Catholic dogma at least, Adam does bear the Original Sin (disobedience against God), which is why the souls of all humans, as descendants of Adam, are stained with it and we need the sacraments of the Catholic Church in order to go to Heaven.
maybe, pretty sure it's just an allusion to heroic characters generally rebelling against authority. (granted heaven is that authority so...maybe not)
I see a lot of people, like a LOT of people, reacting to Vaggie being revealed as a former exorcist as "Oh Charlie won't even care, she's like the nicest person, why would she even care?"
And then they're surprised at how hurt she looks during the reveal.
4:06 HE LIVES 😭
19:23 it's not the swearing specifically they're reacting to. They didn't react when Vaggie did it, but until this moment, Charlie was carrying her a specific way (similar to them who don't swear), so they're taken aback when she does due to that.
Angel Dust's Sister is in Heaven, you guys missed her
From a partner's perspective, I do agree that Charlie would 100% be okay if Vaggie had told her before and explained her situation. Charlie was basically just hurt because she had to find that secret out from someone else instead of from Vaggie... and they got to rub it into her face during a crucial point where they were trying to make a case for redemption. Charlie's reaction was pretty spot on tbh.
Fun fact. The "stick it to the man" bit was a reference to when Alex Brightman was in the musical 'School of rock'
2:29 WHERE DID KENNY GET THAT DUMP TRUCK BACK THERE DANG! The hole bakery

8:23 biblical accurate Emily is an Egg 🤣 🥚
9:16 angels sister, awesome.
Adam and lute are easily the best duo, it’s so cute how when one is singing the other acts as the hype man for them. Plus that bar from lute was straight fire.
"Okay but what's wrong with it, I've never seen a corrupted Heaven"
Me: Uh... Did you forget the genocide?
@zuzu6864 Charlie and Vaggie being together proves that what she was taught was wrong
One thing I think is a good thing to point out that is that we don’t know how much Sera knows about what is going on in hell, she’s the only one that specifically mentions an uprising from hell, with Adam having come up with the “solution”
Also when Sera is talking about having their own souls to protect she’s most likely referring to the human souls that made it to heaven, not her and Emily’s.
Adam got in largely because of nepotism. He got a pass on some sins and he couldn't commit any at the time.
Pride: first man and this heaven's golden child
Lust: Lilith and eve were the only women around
Envy: loathed Lucifer for taking Lilith away from him.
Wrath: he hates Lucifer, whom heaven kicked out. Free pass
Greed: he had to scrounge daily for things
Gluttony: he has to share his bounty with other humans.
Charile and Emily duet is powerchanting, words of power that become reality.

As much as Lute deserves hate her part in "You didn't know?" is one of my favorites in all of the series :P
Detail: when the two seraphim first appeared, they looked biblically accurate for a couple of seconds, then zapped into a more human-looking form.
Emily: "DON'T CONDESCEND TO ME I'M NOT A CHILD"
Sera, moments later: "DON'T YOU WORRY YOUR PRETTY LITTLE HEAD ABOUT THIS" *forehead kiss*
UGHHHHHH
Personally I think what redeems a soul fully is that they have to want it and or that think they deserve it
Along with making noble choices
It isn't just their actions, they have to want it
Many souls in hell do not want or think they are worth redemption
Angel hates himself and doesn't think he is worthy that's his biggest obstacle to redemption...
Adam being the first in heaven doesn't even make sense since Abel died before him
Kenny would love to see the anime Yuru Camp so much.

@@Zer0Cracker and then the Sinner Adam song, and the General Lute song.
Oh boy, here we go. Vaggie's truth and Charlie's courage, as well as Emily's willness to help, make this episode one of the best of the whole Season!
I love the people who didn't guess right away that Vaggie is a former exorcist. They are so cute.
Love the dude for talking about a sponser we see you
I never considered there was someone about the seraphim doing the judgement I always thought it was something that just happened, like the machine of heaven and hell itself judges a soul and sends them upon death.
@@zuzu6864 thats what im saying he was created and born flawed which is ok but after thousands of years of being on top with basically nobody to put him in his place or to tell him he can and should be better his flaws grew into something more
After you finish Hazbin Hotel, you need to react to Helluva Boss. It's set in the same universe.
"Stick it to the Man" is a reference to a song the voice actor sings in School of Rock musical (which he stars in). It is also likely that "the man" is God, given that Adam and Eve essentially stuck it to God when they ate the forbidden fruit.
i mean, the plot is basically a retelling of the battle against apartide
I do like "Loser, baby" the most, but i feel like "you didnt know" have a bigger inpact.🤩🤩
If it helps you can rewatch the first episode where it goes over what the “uprising” thing was about in the show intro I believe but yeah I agree she is as evil but not as directly aggressively hostile in your face about it but she prob values the demons as much as Adam does.
And here I was hoping that she packed a flack jacket on every trip.
Of course Bill Cipher knows Charlie. She's his brother Lou's kid, after all.
12:45 keep this in mind later. there is a plot hole.
Has Kenny listened to Epic the musical? I would love to see his reaction to it with his musical theater background
Angel’s sister is in Heaven
I love Wifeys take at the end.
Lute is best girl
pacing still had issues but i loved this episode. And "You didn't know" i loved besides the story elements is how many people it pissed off lol
