Hey guys! There will be, and are, ALOT of things I couldn't go into, but ask questions in the comment section and I will answer you as soon as I can. This covers the basics of caring for a venus flytrap, and in 95% of cases, this is all you'll need to know to care for them. But more advanced topics like indoor light types and intensities, water types and TDS / PPM, Soil brands etc etc of course couldn't be answered in a video like this. So please, feel free to ask :) Consider subscribing if this video helped in any way :)
You covered all of the basics. No reason why anyone would lose a flytrap following those instructions. Only thing I would add that you didn't mention is dormancy should be allowed to last a minimum of 6 - 8 weeks it will be longer if you live in cold areas. Once temp reaches above 40F degrees both night and day, it is safe to put the plants back outdoors for the upcoming growing season.
I’ve had 7 Venus flytraps in inspiration of your videos but they all looked unhealthy. I wondered why than found out this video helped thank you very much
So we just got a flytrap for my daughter in a store. It looks pretty healthy, but it’s been standing in a shop with obviously zero sunlight. The care instructions on the packet recons NO DIRECT SUNLIGHT in bold. It says to place it in a bright, sunny room. Now I’m even more confused after watching this. 😅
Just got myself 2 small venus fly traps with a bonus sundew AND discovered your channel today. So excited to care for them. Thanks for this video. Also loved your search for that giant sundew in SA, but I'm biased because that's where I'm from and where I'm raising my carnivorous babies. Question... I said the sundew was a bonus because it kinda just sprouted in the venus flytrap pot while they were being raised. So I need to re-pot the sundew, but I'm afraid of doing the wrong thing and shocking it to death 💀... What are your top tips for re-potting these plants?
Thanks for the great info! I dont currently own any of these plants but i will be getting a Venus very soon. So this was a great video for me. PS I live N.C. home of the Venus.
Im pretty new to the channel. Do you make videos aswell of these "Victreebel" - Pokemon Plant aswell? I saw it in your greenhouse in the back and wondered, how these look in action with some fly drama. Keep up the very interessting videos! Greetings from Austria
Winners are contacted through email or DM. I can't announce all winners because of GDPR laws, only if the winner consents to this which they don't. Hopefully the winner of the second giveaway from the flower stalk propagation will be happy with being announced :)
I have a small Venus flytrap right now, what watt would you recommend for a grow light? Also, if grown inside, how often should a dormancy be given, and for how long?
@@theflytrapgardenfilms could you do a video on what would suit growing seeds and plants etc on a range of prices please as I for one would love to see it. I’m currently looking for one and was going down that road.
The best is sunlight outside if possible but if not then the same lights adult plants would use. Hydrofarm, spider farm, sansi etc. super powerful LED light or T5 CFLs if that’s what you want instead of LED
How would one apply the Effecto Rosecare... Effectively? My VFT has some aphids and mealy bugs, some of which are hiding underneath leaves and hidden from access/view without hurting the plant, or deep down to the crown. Just spray on, or "hunt" the bugs down?
Can i ask a question, i don't think someone will answer but. I start to raise my flytrap from seeds, and it began to grow, not as a bush with a bunch of individual traps, but as one stem on which 2 leaves grow, then 2 more and more above. I searched for the growth stages of the flytrap, but found nothing. It growing only 20 days since i planted it.
@@theflytrapgardenfilms Yeah, i think that too, but seeds was very, i mean VERY simmilar to flytrap(if believe photos on the ethernet, very small dark seeds), and smart cam says that flytrap also, so i thought maybe its some variety of flytrap.
Yes they use seeds that look very similar but they are almost always a scam sadly. Flytrap seedlings make traps immediately after their cotyledons and they are tiny
Serious question here..... When you say tap water do you also include actual well water in that category? We have a 400 foot well and only have sediment filters just for the normal silt or sediment. Would think that would be ok? Its natural ground water. Please someone clarify this for me?
I know that you arent getting as many views as you would on your main channel but still please keep uploading long videos they way better then shorts if you arent getting enough money then go back to posing the long videos on your main

Yes there are a few short form videos showing those plants (sarracenia) but not as many as the flytraps

With regards to this, I got Efekto Rosecare 3, but it's not food safe, as you specified in the video?

If you probably bought it from something like Ebay, Etsy, Amazon etc. You got scammed. It is quite common sadly

I think that would be alright for the plants
If your TDS is less than 50 PPM you can use well water but often times well water is too high in TDS
Have it tested for Hardness, our well water is very hard and is an insta death for carnivorous plants lol
Actually it's 8 hours of full sun
8 hours is ideal but 6 is bare minimum :)
