    The Goldendoodle is a “designer dog,” a hybrid dog breed resulting from breeding a Poodle with a Golden Retriever.
    Goldendoodles have achieved success as guide dogs, service dogs, therapy dogs, and sniffer dogs (one study tested their success at sniffing out peanuts in foods for owners with nut allergies). Goldendoodles have also done well in agility.

    At age 75, I've had dogs my entire life. Sometimes as many as three. I was able to get a Golden Doodle puppy some five months ago. The best dog I've ever had - bar none. The vet estimates her final size at around 90 lbs. (She's already 45 at 5 months.) I'm at the stage where I very well may need a therapy dog (medical and/or otherwise). The trainer I'm using is happy to work with her as she says (the trainer) that my dog is so affectionate and trainable. I've never been more pleased with a dog. It would also appear that I'm in the demographic that can best utilize a Doodle. I've been blessed!

    The SUPER CURLY fur is due to extra breeding with a poodle. Mine has curly and smooth hair. He is a one time goldendoodle. He is a service dog. Very easy to train.

    We have a beautiful red mini goldendoodle with straight hair. He is a very tenacious, energetic boy. We have had him since he is 3 1/2 months old. While he is very lovable, at 8:00p he gets the zoomies and his teeth are trying to chew the furniture and us! Then after a short time, he settles down and goes to sleep! He is a character. I do not sugest anyone who cant take an energetic dog or if they are physically incapable of exercise like walking with the dog for long walks, to get a doodle. He has been described as the most energetic dog at the doggy day care center! He can play for hours. He loves all dogs, big or small and people. And we love him but cant wait for him to be about 2 years old!!!

      mine's a Barker too, she does it when afraid, ( fireworks etc), when she is being demanding ( often!), when playing, when she hears any tiny noise, when someone comes to the door, when someone comes to someone elses door!🤣🤣, I can only apologise, but considering I live in apartments that have parties and so on I'm not really THAT sorry!🤣

    !!Trivia fact!!
    For those interested, there is one part of this video that is not entirely correct. The Goldendoodle was actually first bred in 1969 by Monica Dickens; the descendant of Charles dickens (no I am not lying you can easily google this). The dog was originally bred as a guide dog for those who sufferer from dog allergies, as the golden retriever was naturally always selected for guide dog training due to its loyalty and ease of training and the poodle was naturally low shedding. This led to them being bred in the early 1970's. it wasn't until the 90's that the breed reached the U.S. and became a staple for American households with pet allergies.
    BONUS FACT
    Hypoallergenic dogs do not actually exist.
    Hear me out, most people think of hypoallergenic as meaning "safe for allergy suffering individuals". This unfortunately is not true :(.
    If you suffer from dog allergies, you get your reactions from the dogs dander and saliva. Dander is the dead skin cells of a dog which cannot be altered by how much they shed. However, on the positive note, low shedding coats do reduce the spread of dander in your home, making it easier to control your dog allergy when your furry friend in confined to certain areas. I am allergic to dogs and own an F1 standard Goldendoodle named Stella and all I really do is take Allegra daily and keep her out of my home office and main bedroom nd my life is a breeze.
    Good luck to all new doodle parents, hope this was informative

    Any suggestions on how to get our 13 month old doodle to stop biting? We have tried what the trainer has us do. Ignore him. Or put him in his playpen and ignore him. He is a wonderful dog, but I dont like the biting. He is the dog below that we are talking about.

    • @jensissons5709
      @jensissons5709 Рік тому

      Tell him off. A sharp no bad and show him where to find something he can chew.. Exercise him more and teach him games like find and fetch. He sounds a bit bored and too old for the playpen.

    • @nysunflower9439

      High pitched scream when they bite you, then tell them no firmly and give them something they can chew on. The biting is probably playful, it’s how dogs play and will yelp when hurt.

    • @beverlyspeary8979
      @beverlyspeary8979 Рік тому +1

      You over emphasize a painful Yelp when the bite is hard that's how they learn to control their bite pressure it works my goldendoodle was a biter as well . She still play bites but no pressure just be patient they are well worth it and very loving.

      I'm sure it was just bsb luck, but I got a couple of dogs from Gooding area. Crazziest dogs I've ever had. I'm pretty sure their moms and dad's were brother and and sister. One was a chow chow the other a border collie. Gooding is very rural.

I have a small dog and when he wants to go out for potty he rings the bell, so we are teaching my GD to do the same, but he’s stubborn. Can someone please help or advise? I will appreciate it.
