FINALLY! A breeder who is completely honest about this mixed breed dog. This is a breath of fresh air. So many breeders of this type of dog stress the “cuteness” of the dog and overlook the underlying personality. I appreciate this.
Having raised multiple doodles a helpful tip with grooming is that we tend to request that the groomers do not put perfume on our dog because we have found over the last 15 years that it is the primary source of ear infections for the dogs we’ve had. Cleaning their ears is so important especially after a day at the lake.
I got my golden doodle 6 weeks ago and I have no regret. She is the sweetest puppy ever and training her was quit easy. She really try to please me and try to get it right. She’s been housebroken since week 2 and walking her is fun. She just love every body. My whole building knows her and adore her
Omg thank you!!!! I'm a dog groomer of 3 years and to be honest alot of groomers are not fans of doodles and it has nothing to do with the dogs but with the owners, a lot of doodle owners want a fluffy dog but are unaware of the maintenance in between grooms and so when we shave a matted doodle we get a bad label as we are lazy and we didn't want to take the time to brush out their dog. A lot of groomers do not like shaving dogs but when owners expect us to brush out weeks or months worth of unbrushed coat we simply cannot do it in just one day. It is uncomfortable and painful for the dog and it's a lot of wear and tear on our bodies. I also appreciate that you mentioned training, the salon I work in we do have a few well trained doodles but there are a good number of untrained doodles and it can make our job even more difficult so training is definitely important. Pricing was another thing that I'm glad you mentioned, clients want us to do all this grooming work for low prices and they dont realize that doodles are one of the most expensive dogs to maintain, grooming wise. They have a lot of coat that needs to be properly taken care of and for the haircut a lot of ppl want it takes a lot of time and skill to make them look perfect. I'm very happy you made this video and I hope it will shed a light on future doodle owners. Thank you
@@Quon6810 both ! constantly brushing dogs throughout the day on top of trying to brush out weeks of an unbrushed doodle is a lot of work on our wrists and back. even using the blow dryer tends to ache our hands. many of us see chiropractors regularly, dog grooming is a very high demand psychical job and working on bigger breeds like doodles can lead us to carpal tunnel down the road as well as shoulder pain. im only 21 and i experience a lot of shoulder and wrist pain after grooming more than 2 doodles a day. as for the pups we groom, if a dog isn’t regularly brushed at home they will end up hating being at the groomers because they have to endure a long lengthy groom. having a dog that is properly brushed and not matted cuts down the time for the dog by a lot !
I hope you don’t mind constructive criticism. While I appreciate ALL of the advice in this video and am doing my best to educate myself on this breed before purchasing, your intro was almost 3 minutes long and very repetitive. It could’ve been shorter so that viewers can get to the important content quicker. This had a lot of great info, I’m glad I watched it all. Thanks so much!
Thank you for your candour. I purchased a goldendoodle thinking I would have the time and energy to raise it right and also have 2 small children. I couldn't do it. She was smart and beautiful and needed way more than I could give her. I should've never gotten her or any dog. We rehomed her almost a year ago and will not be getting another dog for a long time if ever. I learned you can love animals and dogs and not necessarily own one.
1) not all dogs are hypogentoc sobthey are not but they are allergy friendly 2) they are very active 3) they are velcro dogs (love to be with you) 4)they take up a lot of your time 5) they are expensive (dogs in general) 6) they need training 7) there are doodle haters 8) they tend to have sensitive skin/stomach allergies
Very, VERY helpful!!! I love that you listed both the pros, and the cons, to living with this breed. Thank you so much for advocating for these wonderful pups!! I have a family member who's thinking of getting a puppy & is enamoured of their "cuteness" level (which is admittedly through the roof); but I think this video will really help her make an informed decision about whether her lifestyle is a good fit for one of these beautiful dogs.
We have always had German Rottweilers, we trained ourselves. Our Doodle went through Something that made him RUN!! behind our legs. (Dog store). We're glad we saved/rescued him. Thank you for getting the message out, because most dont do their homework. Well our baby is trained. He brings in the mail, he gets his towel if he's paws are dirty. He sits behind the steering wheel so he can see you at all times. He took to training when we got him home.
I got my Goldendoodle in February and everything you said here is so accurate. You have to be willing to give them so much time and energy because they really love exercise and mental exercises. They really do thrive off of that! And the doodle hate! It’s ridiculous. I always wondered why people were so hateful towards doodles. They are so loving, smart and their personality is amazing! This is such a great video for people who think they want a goldendoodle and don’t know everything that comes with it.
Will a golden doodle be a good dog to have on a hobby farm with our family? We only have chickens right now but come spring we plan on ducks and slowly bring in more farm type animals.
@@JHENSHOMESTEAD I think a farm is actually a great place for a doodle as long as you maintain their hair/brushing and grooming up to date. Also it’s a high energy dog so they’ll enjoy running around the farm. It is an inside dog tho, so make sure they sleep inside etc.
I watched this video both when deciding on which breed to get, and now that I have Aspen, my little dood. My goldendoodle is now 10 weeks old, and the only hate I've seen is online. Outside of the internet, either no one knows what a doodle is, or they have said awesome dogs. The only actual disparaging comment I got was someone who was rabidly against the purchase of any puppy from breeders as opposed to shelters, but that would have happened regardless of which dog breed I purchased. Everything you said is holding up. My dog is pretty high energy, and quite mouthy at the moment. I'm glad that I mostly work from home, and can walk to my office when I do need to go in, because she's such a handful. I take her on 2 40 minute walks a day (vet ok'd it), and she's still super hyper. I'm also glad that you mentioned the grooming, because it was something we made sure to budget for when deciding between a goldendoodle and a border terrier. Ultimately, even though she's still a crazy little puppy, we're so glad she's part of our family now.
@@chelseacorbitt7926 she’s great. The only health issue we have had was due to her eating something that caused an infection. That could have happened to any dog on the planet. She has certainly mellowed out a lot since her puppy days, but she is still full of energy whenever I want to take her on a walk, hike, or just play fetch with her. A couple of things that have helped us to save money were buying a grooming table and professional level, dog, shaving kit, as well as a double showerhead, so that we can give her baths. When I was on active duty orders for 10 months, she kept my spouse company. I don’t know if my wife would have been able to handle being alone for that period of time without my dood. She’s also much easier to train than the dogs I grew up with, or that my wife used to have before they passed. What took three weeks for my previous dog to master, took her a few days with largely the same training methodology.
I have 2 teenage boys that seem to need me less nowadays. Another reason why I'm so glad we made the choice to get a doodle. She is like another child in the house, and I absolutely love it!
I agree with all of your tips for anyone with a doodle. I am doodle mom and definitely give a lot of my time to my baby because they need and want it. I wouldn’t change anything. Love doodles!
Waited til retirement to get my doodle. Did loads of research. My puppy is such a joy think the amount of time I’m putting into being with him is working on him having such a great disposition. Love my pup
Hey there dog groomer here! So many doodle owners that come in don’t realize how high maintenance and how expensive the breed is too. They need to be on a 4-6 week schedule to maintain there coat and be brushed throughly daily. Most the dogs that come in to my salon pelted with matting are doodles, and it’s just so sad because this is just bad on the owners part for not researching or caring. A lot of backyard doodle breeders come in with there dam (female breeding dog) and it’s awful how matted and disgusting their privates are. When you buy your doodle, ASK TO SEE THE PARENTS! If the dog is in a bad condition don’t buy the puppies and don’t support these awful breeders!
I own two goldendoodles, and a lot of these problems can be solved by owning two. If you are not an active person but have a good backyard, the two of them will romp and play with each other and get all their energy out entertaining each other. When you are gone, they keep each other company in the crate if you get a huge crate for them. When you are gone they comfort each other and comfort each other at night. But no one should be out till 10 o’clock just the same if you have any dog, just like she says. Getting two dogs it’s not a substitute for humans, it just helps quite a bit. The only problem is super bonded dogs that you do need to make sure they are alone sometimes so they don’t get so bonded that they start to grieve to death when one of them has to go for surgery or something . But for dogs that crave relationship, this is a breed that really benefits by having two
My wife, daughter and I, after two other dogs passed from old age, got a puppy goldendoodle last Nov not really know the dog is high maintenance! I wound up doing most of the work. He was small now a 'big' dog!
Great video! Thank you so much for the information. We are looking for our next dog, but my husband has allergies. My daughters and I wanted a golden retriever but every time we’re around that one, his allergies act up. This weekend we saw a golden doodle and now I’m researching the breed. This video had great insight and I appreciate it.
Buying and breeding golden doodle is so different from adopting and even them against breeding and hating them diff although like if they’re find with proper purebred breeding not that diff IMO and some training tools are cruel as fact (like punishing children physically like spanking) they can be trained well without with positive reinforcement structure is different from some tools
We recently adopted a 9 month old. I felt I asked all the relevant questions about her personality, good behavior/bad behavior, crate trained, shed level, comfortable with a busy household etc. Boy was I wrong. Our doodle barks /cries non stop when in her crate, she is not friendly , she won't eat or go potty unless your standing next to her . Ive tried leaving her alone in the backyard to play. Nope wasnt happening . She jumped through our sunroom screen window. Just in case your wondering, I am FT at home, so she gets walks approximately 30 mins. We live in texas so its a morning walk. I spend about an hour, sometimes more with her outside . I break it up into 15-20 minute sets. I work on basic commands or just play time , throwing her toys around with her . If i dont give her attention she becomes insanely clingy. I would have thought after 9 months some of these personality traits would have revealed themselves and the owner would have shared more. I am not pointing fingers simply sharing my experience. Every dog is different, I know. Do your homework maybe visit w/an owner of a puppy doodle and an older doodle if you can find someone. Even asks if you can dog sit. It might help make the right decision for you/family before taking the step of doodle ownership. We are working on rehoming her . I feel encouraged reading all the positive posts that we will find the right home soon.
I think these tips are pretty transferable to any active/working breed! I have an Australian shepherd and everything you’ve mentioned is exactly the same with him! People really do need to do their research before getting any high energy breed
Lol, me again … I want to thank you for your commitment. As I said earlier I used to raise Labradors for show and obedience, later Standard Poodles for obedience. So when I went looking for a golden doodle breeder I looked for someone who bred their doodles as a purebred breeder would … health and temperament. The breeder had all the vet papers to show what tests were made for their health …. I would not have gone to the true ‘backyard’ breeder for that very reason. It’s funny what you said about doodle haters, as I was expecting that from my purebred breeder friends and did not get that … but what I thought was even neater was how many doodle owners were at the professional group dog training classes we went to. So hang in their folks whatever your doodle mix is, I think people are getting more used to our beautiful ‘designer dogs’ as they are also called 🐶🥰
I got a golden doodle last year for my birthday from my daughter and it’s the most affectionate dog. I love your video and will look at the previous ones you put out to learn more about them
I’m obsessed with your videos!!! Preparing for our family GoldenDoodle next month! I would love it if you could provide a video of what the interview process should look like and red flags of breeders and things to look out for! 💕
When they are in cages or they don't do testing to ensure they aren't passing on health defects...please don't support back yard breeders or puppy mills. Go with someone responsible breeding for the breed, not greed.
Love hey doods super cute! This video is very informative for those looking for doodles! Yes my sweet baby jerry(goldendoodle) is very active and is a always wanting to be by myside! I love it though I'm very active myself and enjoy the time with him! I go run errands and come home to him and hes waiting at the door for me! I dont mind being home with him I am a stay at home mom to a 2 year old so i have time, if I worked theres no way I could have this sweet boy. He is VERY smart and training with him is crucial but he thrives on it
I totally agree! My mom is stay at home mom/photographer so it is a perfect set up. My girl turns 10 on Halloween and I still do training with new tricks, new manners, ect. (She has good manners just things such as making her sit while I open the dog until I give her a hand cue)
Yes the criticism is real, y’all! My mom works with a miserable lady and when she found out I got one, she said something snotty about not buying a dog that much and then said she’d rather rescue. Well, I’ll be honest the worst dogs I ever took in were prospective rescues that came from other homes and they were rough. One bit me and beat my dog up. 😢
I’m so excited to watch this video. I asked my family for a goldendoodle for my birthday in august so I’m learning more about them so when the time comes, I have everything
I don’t have a doodle but rather a standard poodle puppy & can 100% agree with you on all of these things! I had done some research before getting our puppy but puppy training and the time & energy it takes for just one puppy between my husband and I is exhausting! Our Murphy finally got all his vaccinations so we’ve been able to take him out and to burn some energy. But def be prepared to loose some sleep for a few months ! All in all obviously worth it , but you’re by no means exaggerating on the time, energy & money on these adorable pups. We have spent so much money ( easily 1-2k) between vet visits, food, toys and all the other necessities for a new pup.
Good video!!! I had no idea about the doodle hate up until a few months ago! I don't know how anyone could have so much hate for such wonderful, beautiful, smart dogs!! I love that you brought this is up in the video. I did a ton of research before we committed to getting ours. I never seen any doodle hate until after the fact.
I think doodles are amazing dogs I mean all dogs are amazing and sweet if raised correctly, but on breeding I strongly agree to disagree, I am into show Longhaired Dachshunds and preserving their breed and I have seen terrible outcomes from mix breeding on them so maybe I am biased. I am very happy that people are producing healthy and happy doodles but like Bailey said, they are getting really popular and that opens up the doors for irresponsible breeders that claim to be responsible and some very dark temperaments come from these dogs. Still I purchased for my Dachshunds the Badass Breeder Guide, and by the looks of the program Bailey uses, it is an excellent program. So don't be discouraged by our ways, you keep it up, and keep raising healthy babies for families who need their hearts touched by a furbaby.
@@Elidarias but all doodle breeders are bybs. simply because they breed off standard, theres no guaranteed outcome of the dog, most doodle breeders dont health test and the parent dogs are never good either. no reputable breeder will allow their dogs to be used in making mixes. doodles also dont show nor are they rarely used for sport. you mix 2 dogs that were bred to work to produce an offspring that goes to mostly pet homes. its why so many mixes have issues, because the people who buy them dont give them proper needs or training. plus theyre overpriced asf for an untested, no standard or regulation on structure or temperament, and have nothing to show for in conformation or working. you can get a doodle for the same price as a puppy from a breeder who titles and fully tests their dogs. bottom line, doodle breeders and mix breeders in general are never reputable and doodles have no purpose either. if you want a mutt, rescue, youd get the same quality dog and you would be saving a life :)
@@beetlevomiit Since I posted this 2 months ago I have learned all about what you said in your comment and you’re 100% right. Mostly my comment was about the Badass Breeder Guide which is a very good puppy raising program and temperament testing for the future buyers who desire certain temperaments for their needs and wants. I don’t agree with doodle breeding at all, but that program I am talking about is very good for placing dogs in the right homes. Also I was trying to be nice to her since I know she has good intentions.
My doodle thinks his way is the only way. Until he hears his commands. The 3rd day I had to change his food and he was a actual happy pup. They need great food. Poor things mat so easy I brush mine every other night, and he goes to the groomer! But he’s being trained to be my therapy dog and all the hours of training paid off the other day when 911 was called. They are incredibly smart! Mine can get out of any situation. Mr Houdini! They are at feet all the time. I trip constantly. Also size in the same litter and hair in the same litter. Mine is very different from his sister who is owned by my sister. I did my research and was still shocked by my big guy! Keep the great breeding up!
Hypo means “low” so technically hypoallergenic just means low allergens or allergy friendly like you said they are. I think it would be accurate and fine to advertise this way.
What brand of food do you recommend for doodles? I have a family dog who is a medium goldendoodle (she was bred poorly). and I am researching breeds to train to be my service dog. I used to not want a doodle (mostly bc of the hate) but now I've kinda realized how good they are for service work. Thank you for this video, it was very helpful!
My husband and I are purchasing a Golden Doodle in March 2023. My husband is allergic to a dogs dandruff. What is a good way to control their dandruff?
I’m rewatching this after having my goldendoodle for 1 year and laughing because people definitely don’t get it! She actually has to get groomed every 4-5 weeks because her hair grows soooo fast! And she’s now on a raw diet due to so many issues with food just in this year. She requires both mental and physical stimulation daily. She loves to have a job! And yes daycare has been a lifesaver. She’s a different dog when she doesn’t go to daycare. Just love this channel! ❤
We have a 3yr old goldendoodle.shes a great dog but I wouldn't recommend this breed to people with kids.dont get wrong she loves our kids but when she wants to cuddle with me or my wife she gets real protective and cranky when the kids try to cuddle with us also.other than that she's a great dog though.
Just have to say you are so right about saliva … I used to raise Labradors and had five at one time …. but one of them if I played with her or she came up to greet I had to immediately wash my hands … if I forgot to and rubbed my face or eyes … I swelled up and had to keep wiping face and eyes with cold clothes as well as take some meds just for that one dog. I now own a 2 yr old golden doodle whose parents are both golden doodle, so I just wanted to add another thing I heard …. Maybe you are not allergic to your doodle, but because of their coat … who knows what they bring in the house with them from outside that you are allergic too.
I completely understand what you mean by breed hate. I own 1 purebred and 2 pitbull mixes and the amount of hate I’ve received in just my personal life has been exhausting😭 I love this video! So important!
I have a 4 month old goldendoodle named Knox. He is an amazing puppy. So smart and energetic. We are working together as a team. He gets plenty of exercise inside the house for at least 20 minutes 3 times a day. We run in the backyard and play fetch everyday. Now, we are working on the biting and pulling leash issue. Do you have any tips on that for me?
I also got ticked with the food thing … I raised Labradors for years, then had 4 standard Poodles after that … then one last Labrador … kept each one til they crossed the rainbow bridge. NEVER had a dog that was picky about their food. Labradors are gulpers … but I wondered if because I had more than one poodle if that was why they ate so well … I don’t know. But, lol, I can tell you the issues we had trying to find a dog food our golden doodle would even eat. We are talking quality dog food … still having to add juices and freeze dried toppers to get her eat. She weighs in at 54 lbs as a 2 yr old. Asked breeder about it and she said that was one of the traits of a goldendoodle. She has been on the same food now probably since she was 9 months old. I just ordered some high quality raw freeze dried food for her and she will eat right out of my hands with nothing added … I will use it for 1/2 her food as well as topper as it is expensive … but at least I know what she will eat with no extras … am very excited about this new find.
I am getting a golden doodle in a few weeks and I am researching a lot before he comes to live with me and my mom. I do work but at the moment I’m off for the summer. I work at a school as a salad bar attendant. My golden doodle name is going to be named Bruno. I have a great dog groomer as well. She also has doodles.
Another thing: everything you do in public takes at least a half hour longer because of all the people who want to come and love on the friendliest dog ever! Our 4-yr old Chester is known by name at Home Depot, Lowes, Joann's, etc.
Hi! Do you any videos on how to train these guys? We have 2. One was doing better with potting but instead of her learning from him, she got him to go inside.
Thank you so much for such an honest video! I’m a former vet tech and I agree with everything you said regarding the diet and cost of vet bills, diagnostics etc. My husband and I are planning for our first child. Do you think if you have children, that would be enough to keep a golden doodle puppy happy and active enough? My husband and I are very active, but I can imagine once we have children we will be limited in terms of how much time we have to go to the park etc.
This is my first video of yours I’m watching and I’m about to binge watch!! I got my baby knowing he’d be active but he’s been so surprisingly calm so guess i got lucky? 😅
Hi Bailey: This is a great video. I'm relatively new to your channel, have only watched a few videos thus far and left one comment I think. I work for a small rat terrier breeding program and we would give many of the same tips--about exercise, training, structure and routine etc. We also have a thorough screening process and like you, we interview our interested families. I'm not at all a Golden or any kind of Doodle hater; I don't see myself having a Doodle in the immediate future because I can't maintain the grooming needs plus as much as I like both breeds, I'm more of a GSD and rat terrier person. I don't consider myself a breed snob though, and I don't understand those who are. Everyone who wants a dog has different needs, and there are going to be good and not good breeders in all breeds. There are plenty of not-so-great Doodle breeders out there but there are plenty of really good ones... I think it's great you made this video and educated people because yes, people use all kinds of buzz words to sell their dogs and many have no business producing dogs. It's frustrating. Anyway, I respect what you do and I love that you have a focus... you're not just throwing a bunch of dogs together and producing several breeds with questionable qualities. It's great you're working toward a particular standard you want, and i look forward to learning more about your program. I'm glad to see some Doodles working as service dogs, too. My breeder and colleague is a service dog trainer and has trained several Doodles. If one chooses the right one and puts the right kind of training in, one can have a super smart service Doodle.
This is amazing! Your video was very informative and that’s something people should definitely know! I have a Goldendoodle and oh my, he has those allergies. He has some food allergies as well as environmental allergies. He is only 9 months and he is definitely keeping us on our toes. We are learning as we go with him but we just love him so much!
I got a mini golden doodle for my allergies. But she was so high maintenance, she constantly had skin issues and stomach issues. Don't know if that's normal for all golden doodles or was a rare case for me. mine was also white, don't know if that's important. people also told me they have medium energy level and she was high energy
Ur absolutely right about the doodle hate i just don't understand it my doodle is the coolest dog I ever had. People are just miserable i get it all the time on tiktok🤣🤣🤣
UR so right, about training all dogs, I hve 2 dogs had them since they was puppies, I had paid lots of money so my dogs got training!!!!!!!!I hve a Girlfriend she has 2 Doodles both girls, She groom them herself, She learned on her own H 2 wash, brush & cut her dogs hair, she couldn't afford the 2 tke them 2 the groomer, it got 2 expensive 4 her, but her Doodles R so cute & she always keep up wth there grooming!!!!!
While haters consist of purebred snobs, there’re also groomers and other people upset over doodle popularity driving many irresponsible breeders to produce unhealthy and bad tempered doodles. Groomers hate working on these dogs cause many of them are riddled with matts( since their owners don’t brush them) and are big pieces of work that can’t stay still for a minute. Doodle popularity unfortunately also spurs their hatred since it makes many of their “clients” Doodles now, including poorly bred ones with skin problems and are naturally aggressive. Others already don’t like the fact that Doodles are being exploited and badly managed. So, I think doodle hate also stems from the mixes’s popularity. Therefore, glad you’re one who’s responsibly breeding Doodles sending them to families who’ll take good care of them.
Thank you for the information!! I am researching all I can on the doodle because I love their temperament! I think we may add one to our family in the near future. ♥️
Ok. I already have a old small (ish) dog. We are trying to get a golden doodle. We have a doggy door, huge back yard, a large variety of places to sleep, a great environment for it, lots of free time to take care of it and spend time with it, and my dad is the only who who works at the moment so my mom and me is there all day. We also have experience with big (ish) dogs. We having been planning this for awhile. My only worry is that my old dog wont like the golden doodle or maybe the golden doodle will be to rough on him. Any tips? Edit: also, I love dogs, I love any dog, so I will be giving my time to this dog. My family is good on money so we will take good care of it money wise. We also are planning to get training for it or we might train it ourselves. Edit: sorry for the long comment but the short answer is: is a google doodle gentle on old small dogs?
Hi I’m starting to breed Goldendoodles I know a lot about them and I have lots of experience with them and other dog breeds but I don’t interview people what are questions you ask people when selling puppies? I want to make sure each dog goes home to the right people 😊
Hi Bailey, getting a dog for my adult daughter, though she lives alone, but, in a condo, and works during the day. She loves animals I’m torn between a golden doodle or a labradoodle in knowledge of doodles which can handle this working person that likes to take walks.🌺🇨🇦
At what point would you recommend a dog walker ? At a young age ? I get my sweet boy sept 25th i work an 8-5 but i come straight home plus im off every weekend because I have a family so he will definitely get an attention just more so worried about when im at work . The Breeder said he should be fine with a play pen and giving him something to occupy his time . Im also a first time pet owner.
I would recommend if possible having someone come let him out at least once while you are at work if possible. Not take him for a walk because he won’t be fully vaccinated but to go potty and then back inside for a couple minutes of play! Then once he’s fully vaccinated that one time during the day letting him out can become a walk!
We are thinking of getting our goldendoodle a sibling just came across your channel. The only problem we are having is she pees when excited do they all do this? She is 9 months now
Hi Bailey! New to your channel! This video is so accurate. I got my cavapoo 2 years ago and I swear he’s human. He’s like my first born and very spoiled. But very true! You have to give up a lot having a dog, good thing I love staying home! Also, you mentioned high quality dog food for your doodles. Do you mind sharing the brand you use for dog food? My dog is so picky!
Thanks Bailey! I’ve decided to get a golden doodle after months and months of research. This video gives me even more clarity. I also want to know when your application will be open? Lastly what to you think about the raw diet for doodle? My American Bulldog has been doing great on it and ideally would like to have the new pup on it.
Mine doesn’t have a successful life he’s living terrible and my parents did the worst thing ever they can’t even bring him training which my mom can afford and loose 3% of her money and he’s been leash outside ever since 2021 and hadn’t gotten a bath in like many months so yea in the beginning they could’ve brought him to pet co and check if there’s any micro chip in him so he couldn’t be lost or his owner looking for him
Thank you so much. This is really helpful. I really would like a golden doodle myself, however I do have school. We already have a family dog that is a sheepadoodle which is 2 years old. However when he was a puppy, my mom was a stay at home mom. Knowing a golden doodle takes up time which i’m willing to take up my free time on the dog, if I got it in the summer, would it still be reasonable to get the dog?
They take up alot of your time but you take up alot of their time. They are strange dogs primate really. It's like having a toddler. They want to be everywhere you are. They really like the car. I am retired so he is always with me. He would be stressed to the max if he was ever crated as I would. They are for people who have the time for them period. They are not really a traditional dog. They are more than that and as beautiful as they are you have to have the TIME other wise it's just unfair. My opinion is they are a great advancement in the breeding of dogs in general. The conditions that require them to thrive most of the time are not there and the dogs don't get the recognition they deserve. What a nice dog!
As an adult new dog owner, I found your video negative yet informative. Some of your comments were pretty discouraging. They did not discourage me because I am not a sensitive person, but you should consider your delivery when creating videos like these. I was going subscribe bc of my love for doodles, but nevermind.
Every comment I made was the truth. They may be hard to swallow - but I’d rather be honest and discourage someone from getting a doodle who isn’t prepared and then ends up rehoming that poor door because they weren’t prepared or no one told them the realities of owning a doodle at times.
Do you thing a doodle would be good for biking? I absolutely love biking and I’m considering a labradoodle it would be perfect if he wanted to bike too!
If your wanting an active breed to do things like biking with then you might want to try an Australian shepherd, an Australian cattle dog or a border collie.
Labradoodles are really entergetic and love being outside I think it would be a good fit but they are stubborn also so as long as it’s trained good yeah I think so
I have a (really big) Mini Goldendoodle lol and I would actually recommend looking into the K-9 sports backpack if you're interested in bringing your future dog with you. She loves it. She literally jumps right in lol. honest review.
This is great advice!
Ear infections from cologne? Please explain
Thanks!
@@AmberDeMontignyI’m not 100% sure but it sounds like it’s because of humidity
I got my golden doodle 6 weeks ago and I have no regret. She is the sweetest puppy ever and training her was quit easy. She really try to please me and try to get it right. She’s been housebroken since week 2 and walking her is fun. She just love every body. My whole building knows her and adore her
Do you like having a female doodle ?!
Thank you
Under appreciated comment😄🙌🏼
I understand what you’re saying but A lot of wear and tear on your body or the dogs?
I agree. I promise she repeated herself multiple times. Simple and sweet is key to a great video
Agree please please please get to the point and dont repeat yourself. Anyway thank you for the videos and your concern for the dogs. Bless
You can also see your way to another channel that satisfies your expectations🙄.
They do that so the video is longer and they can make more from it.
I thought I was going to lose my mind. Way too repetitive.
I can't believe anyone could hate these lovely beautiful dogs.
1) not all dogs are hypogentoc sobthey are not but they are allergy friendly
2) they are very active
3) they are velcro dogs (love to be with you)
4)they take up a lot of your time
5) they are expensive (dogs in general)
6) they need training
7) there are doodle haters
8) they tend to have sensitive skin/stomach allergies
Thank you!! ❤️
How is your dog doing now?
These also seem like good tips before becoming a parent 😁 Knowing all this, you’ll be a great mom, Bailey!
Thank you so much Danielle!
Yes it’s a huge time commitment but well worth it!
But for dogs that crave relationship, this is a breed that really benefits by having two
How long do you crate them,
My wife, daughter and I, after two other dogs passed from old age, got a puppy goldendoodle last Nov not really know the dog is high maintenance!
Agreed! Most dogs, especially large breeds are a lot more than people bargain for!
I love your video and will look at the previous ones you put out to learn more about them
I’m glad my job allows dogs to come with me. I work at a doggie daycare and the doggo will be perfectly social and with me all day!
I plan on getting a girl golden doodle from you once I graduate from college! I have a golden retriever and life is an adventure with him. ☺️💗
That would be awesome!!
He is VERY smart and training with him is crucial but he thrives on it
That is awesome! They are great dogs especially with people with that type of lifestyle!
I totally agree! My mom is stay at home mom/photographer so it is a perfect set up. My girl turns 10 on Halloween and I still do training with new tricks, new manners, ect. (She has good manners just things such as making her sit while I open the dog until I give her a hand cue)
"Hey doods" is great!
Video starts at 3:25
I don’t have a doodle but rather a standard poodle puppy & can 100% agree with you on all of these things!
Yes for sure!! People do not understand how much work a puppy is!
I just got my golden doodle puppy and he is so smart it’s unbelievable. He loves to be around me every second of every day!! Lol
Mine doesn’t shed.
Mine is hypoallergenic.
He doesn’t smell, but his coat needs to ve brushed often.
Every time I go out in public with mine all eyes on him and he loves it
Excellent content! Dogs/puppies are like having another child to tend too. I’ve never heard of doodle hate before.
Yes they are! It is a major responsibility that a lot of people do not understand!
Thank you! Yes you really don’t see it until you get your own and then it’s everywhere! I don’t see why people are so hateful in general!
Peoples will hate regardless, there's no different than human mixture, different races mix each other, so why dogs have to be different.
I watched this video to learn more about Goldendoodles. Now I am in love with Bailey.😍
🤍
Hypo means “low” so technically hypoallergenic just means low allergens or allergy friendly like you said they are. I think it would be accurate and fine to advertise this way.
I highly recommend that you get the ride vid mic or the wireless rode go because your audio is very echoey. Great vid idea
Thanks I’ll definitely look into it!
I subscribed just for this video - this is so important for any new puppy owner to watch, especially the training advice
Very informative! And the tag line you decided on is cute! I am researching on our next puppy and you are helping me. Thank you!
Thank you 🥰
I completely understand what you mean by breed hate. I own 1 purebred and 2 pitbull mixes and the amount of hate I’ve received in just my personal life has been exhausting😭 I love this video! So important!
Love the transparency in this vid! ❤️
Thank you! ❤️
I’m so shocked they get hate because they are mixed. They are so beautiful 😢
This is the BEST!!!! Video I’ve seen for people thinking about getting a goldendoodle. I also recommend it for people who already have a goldendoodle.
The doodle hate is REAL! My little dood probably has a few things to say about the haters too but he keeps it to himself like a decent person!😆❤
This is my first video of yours I’m watching and I’m about to binge watch!! I got my baby knowing he’d be active but he’s been so surprisingly calm so guess i got lucky? 😅
Hi Bailey:
This is a great video.
Thank you so much!

So much great info! Loved the video! Make some more vids like this, love the sit down chat with the viewer style❤️

I got a mini golden doodle for my allergies. But she was so high maintenance, she constantly had skin issues and stomach issues. Don't know if that's normal for all golden doodles or was a rare case for me. mine was also white, don't know if that's important. people also told me they have medium energy level and she was high energy
Hey Bailey, Really Enjoyed Your Video How Do You Feel About The Raw Food Diet For Goldendoodles?
Ur absolutely right about the doodle hate i just don't understand it my doodle is the coolest dog I ever had. People are just miserable i get it all the time on tiktok🤣🤣🤣
Very helpful thank you. This breed isn't for me.. I thought it was.
We just got our first golden doodle pup
Thank you. This is a great video for anyone thinking of buying a goldendoodle.
i just got a olden doodle today and i am very exited and my mom suprised me
Hello! I have a question?
Can I take my golden doodle for a walk in a sunny day?
Just got a doodle from a rescue & they had my boy on pedigree😭 can you give tips on what food to transition him to?
She uses Purina pro plan large breed I’m pretty sure :) that’s what I use for my doodle too!
Use Purina Pro Plan is what I use! Diamonds natural and Farmina are great options as well!
Thanks 💜
Im getting a goldendoodle in 2 weeks! I am SO execited!
Yay. Love these videos. Definitely helpful before I would’ve bought my goldendoodle! First!
Thank you! So glad you like it 🥰
We use the shampoo recommended by the breeder and our groomer gives her a double rinse.
Depends on individual active may have issues how did it go and
Hi I’m starting to breed Goldendoodles I know a lot about them and I have lots of experience with them and other dog breeds but I don’t interview people what are questions you ask people when selling puppies? I want to make sure each dog goes home to the right people 😊
change your mind and don’t breed them lol there is enough as it is, don’t be a greeder
@@alina-vd8rh I might choose a different breed but I have done bernedoodles with a friend in the past
Hi Bailey, getting a dog for my adult daughter, though she lives alone, but, in a condo, and works during the day. She loves animals I’m torn between a golden doodle or a labradoodle in knowledge of doodles which can handle this working person that likes to take walks.🌺🇨🇦
I need help with mine he hasn’t been eating much and idk what foods I can give him to have him put on more weight
I subscribed because I want to freestyle on the intro. What is the name of the intro song?
We are thinking of getting our goldendoodle a sibling just came across your channel. The only problem we are having is she pees when excited do they all do this? She is 9 months now
I have a neutered male golden retriever and we are ready to add another member to our family. Would you recommend another male or a female ? Thank you
i think people hate also because the cost of a mix breed is sometimes more than a pure breed.
Thank You for making this Video! Now i know what to expect once i buy a golden doodle!
My American Bulldog has been doing great on it and ideally would like to have the new pup on it.
do you think if I took him on a few walks and a bike ride each day would that be enough?
Knowing a golden doodle takes up time which i’m willing to take up my free time on the dog, if I got it in the summer, would it still be reasonable to get the dog?
love you touched the “hypoallergenic” topic
My poodle I've had her for years and years and she's never shed a single hair.
I am not sure! Too strenuous activity like biking might not be great for their joints!
