I've got a 12ft net and I'll give this a try
Bit of a process in that but I just throw a standard net not draw string and I cut the pockets out as I only target prawns around the cairns inlet net I use is a Jarvis walker maxi cast pro series 8 ft I put the net on the shoulder same as but on my left shoulder pick up the lead line half way down then throw but use a good flicking action with my right hand get pancakes all the time and very quick when targeting prawns

I use this method because i can throw almost the whole length of my rope with a 12ft net. U have 2 arms to that do the throwing.
The usual way has one arm throwing and the other flinging to controling the spread. ur then limited to how strong one arm can carry and throw a certain size net.

What are the differences between the chain ones vs lead?
Dao Yang chain dose not tangle and more even throw. The lead one we have tangle all the time and if not checked when you throw its a mess. So if u can get chain just get chain save the head aches
Almost the same way i throw and same results, bit messy when around mud but that's fishing 😎

@@buzzythaosadventures7580 a tip i can give you is to soak your castnet twice a year in fabric softener for 24 hrs, it helps the mono relax and spread better
