    Unreal, of all the methods Ive been shown/tried, yours looks the easiest, been throwing nets for nearly 30 years, had a fair few good custom jobs over the years. Ive got a prawnin petes net at the moment but I smashed it last year, got sick of trying to repair it, maybe I'll get it done by next season hahaha. The only thing Ive never liked liked about throwing off the shoulder is bloody lice , gives me the pips being itchy lol. Cheers Sammy, keep em coming Son

      Cheers mate! Appreciate it! Yeah I’ve found this method to be the most consistent and the fastest to load. As for the lice, I’m yet to have a problem with touch wood!

      youré a lucky bugger not to have hit the lice lol, hit the bay when they come out of the pine or nudgee, just seems strange loading in your left hand, but I get the science behind it, I'm right handed as you look like you are, reckon it would feel weird throwing back handed rather than fore handed
      , either way she pings open. Cheers again Bud, I'm def gunna try your method

    Different technique but looks good and simple. This is helpful especially for the longest net. Thanks, hitting the field for practice.

    Hi, I've been practicing but keep ending up with net being outside in. That is the rope keeps landing underneath. Could you please tell me where I am going wrong. Cheers

    Made it look so easy, but as you say practice practice practice. As just learning and tried so many ways i am guessing this method would work for a smaller net say an 8 or 10 ft net. Also in your opinion is mono the way to go, as i have found the nylon type tangles in the weights quite often or is that the throwers doing cheers Muzza

    • @SammyHitzkeFishing
      @SammyHitzkeFishing  5 років тому +1

      murray prosser yeah definitely would work on the smaller nets mate 👍👍 I found the mono to be a lot easier to cast. It also weighs a lot less and sinks through the water faster! Definitely look into a mono net if your in the market for a new one!

      A good quality net like Mervs has chain on the bottom, and that helps too.

      Yeah, I’d be up for that too. As long as it’s with a 12ft net and it’s drier.

  • @peterhatton7558
    @peterhatton7558 3 роки тому

    thanks for this but I will have to mod it a bi,t as i only got half a pinky and bursitis in both shoulders so putting chain on shoulder is a pain literally.
    I will look for a technique that doesn't require working above shoulder height if you know a link to one that would be most appreciated for a finger challenged fisho like me, maybe i need one of those ones with the circle thingy in it .
    I have a 10 foot net and can or could cast with wind for a 3 quarter open but youse to get covered with crap as my stile is the old put net over shoulder style.
    great to here you cant cast into wind, I just thought I was useless. hahaha.

    hey Sammy how do you live line potty mullet and what is the best bait/lures for any size mangrove Jacks

    • @SammyHitzkeFishing
      @SammyHitzkeFishing  5 років тому

      Aiden Tsai hey mate, I have in the past, but not recently. Best bait for jacks would be live herring or mullet. Lures, probably a 4inch paddle tail would be the best 👌👌

    when you pull up a top pocket castnet, does the whole net stay straight as you're pulling, or scrunch up like a regular castnet?

    • @SammyHitzkeFishing
      @SammyHitzkeFishing  5 років тому +1

      It stays straight and all the prawns get caught in the top. Cheers!
