Good miner but I'm concerned by the lack of storage. I use a large grid miner with 4 large cargos. That way I dont spend 90 percent of my time mining.
as a first mining ship this would be more than sufficient, for later game a bigger one works better
I like them over 100 or 200 K with PAM.
Well, with more storage, you would effectively be mining 90 percent of the time. Odd.
More cargo and more drills ?

this is a cool and good idea for a series... would love to see how to build all type of ships... my ships is very blocky or bricky lol please keep it up

Make sure to use transition pieces like slopes, they don't all have to go towards the ship, that'll make it look round and it's bad
I really like putting a camera on my ship so I can look at things while cruising to and from my mining spot. A docking camera can also be handy.
cameras are another great addition!
I like to have a camera positioned so that I can see where I'm going when I'm backing out of a tunnel

Really love this! a lot of other build videos will do jump skips all the time and it can be very hard to follow, this one was easy to follow a long with!
Would be a nice improvement if you showed it in action.
2:28, Number of Medium Containers depends on the Lenght of time you plan to be out using it. (seen other builds that use 2 or 3 instead of 1.
I’m not sure if people still use them as much or not, but I’d like to see your opinions and design of a welding ship

Hey, could you do a miner drill with a industrial cockpit? I tend to find it really tricky to make a ship with it. I'd love to see a vid with one

I have the impression that you care more about the appearance than that something would extract raw materials:) You quickly put it together. I would like to ask you how many hours you have in this game? I just started and I don't know how to build such a ship on the planet.
In response to get the paint gun mod, try painting as you go. Yes it does require you to pick your colors first but it'll save about 10mins to 2hrs pending on the size of the craft.
Great build!!!! Wish more build Vid's are like this one. Most I see is showing off what they build instead of the thought process. Working on a Lg Grid Indy Rover; I know what I want in it but struggle how to fit it all together. Watching Vid's like this help the planning out. Great Job again.

Thanks. I built a replica of this without armor and stared at it long enough to make another with two large storage containers attached and what I had in my mind. After going through 2 of your build videos, I’m able to see what’s going to work and how to achieve that!

why is ur large thrusters so small? i can only do that with normal thrusters

My Hydrogen tanks do not fill up using this method. I've tried other ways aswell and the tanks remain empty and aren't connect in terms of being able to move items between containers. Help please

I wish I could figure out why this thing doesn't lift off the ground at all. Is it only for outer space?
If this will help some of you:
I built miner like this in survival and...
1) storage is small
2) not enough hydrogen (it runs out in 3 or 1,5(if its loaded) minutes) ( even with working 02H2 generator + fully loaded hydro tanks)
3) extend your drills a bit further (1 block), cause the cockpit damages sometimes
4) bad for the atmosphere
Yeah don't use it in space
How’s the hydrogen usage? I made a similar ship and could barely make it 12km on the moon
I would never use pure hydrogen vessels in a gravity well, these ships are designed for space only, or the occasional trip down to the moon so in space they would use very little hydrogen
The ship won’t go upwards do I need more thrust or something else
don't know how to do that summitry thing you just did it wont work for me
So, I built this in creative up in space for ease of building. But soon as I flew it back down to earth, she just plummets down to earth, and gravity take it from there. I even tried pointing up, using the 4 rear thrusters to give me enough lift to slow down, but we hit the ground going 104 m per second regardless, lol... Is that bc there's no atmospheric thrusters? Will this ship only work in 0 gravity? I don't understand all the differences in game yet, still new. But yeah, great build for space that's for sure...
i have the same problem, I put 2 upward atmo thrusters, and seemed to work for a bit, until it ran out of the test fuel and now I cant get it off the ground.
This ship is built for 0g. You need more thrusters for planets or moons. Atmospheric thrusters work in planets and moons that have atmosphere. (The moon has no atmosphere, for example.) Hydrogen works everywhere. Ion thrusters work best in space and are all but useless in a gravity environment. But they do work, if you put enough ion thrusters on your grid. If you are planning to transition from gravity to 0g then a good hybrid with atmospheric thrusters and hydrogen thrusters works best. Hit z, while thrusting out of the atmosphere using just the atmos, unless you need more thrust for heavy loads. Then switch to your H2 thrusters when the atmos stop working. Atmos only give thrust up to a certain height.

I put this comment just for the part where you talk about the antenna and beacon... You can use the beacon or antenna with the ore detector... The only benefit to use antenna is it can broadcast when you are out of the vehicle... But if you are in, you can find ore no problem... The antena is not better or beacon worse in that case... The ore detector has the distance of... Well detection.
I like it but i feel the storage and hydrogen it can hold may be a bit on the smaller side

D hooked it up with small conveyor. Looked super ugly tho but still worked
Would putting small hydro generator on top be a problem? I like to charge batteries while out in space worried its too much weight tho
no shouldn't make too much of a difference beyond just sticking out potentially awkwardly

I like this ship but it lacks the ability to keep pilot alive. The cockpit has no access to o2/h2 generator.
What are you talking about, literally the second part he added was a o2/h2 gen attached at the 2 points to the back of the cockpit.
Nice design, but I don't know, perhaps I'm the only one who plays with thruster-damage enabled? I think the thrusters pointing to the front will roast the drills, or is the gap between the cockpit and the drills sufficient?
The gap is fine, you can get away with a surprising amount of coverage on thrusters with damage on. I don't know anyone who turns thruster damage off lol

Thanks for a good video! Do you have a different one where you go into more depth about the sorters, ejectors? I'm having issues where my miner is just evaporating the ore. I think it's because I've rebuilt the ship after a crash and didn't get it quite right. Smh.
make sure you put a sorter before the ejector, set it to whitelist stone only if thats what you want to remove, and turn on drain all. then set the ejector to drain all too and it should work!

@@LunarKolony yeah as far as I know I have the hydrogen tanks fully built they just seem to refill very very slowly and the thrusters use up my than the o2 generator seems to fill them with

Would you still use Hydro thrust if you were building the ship in atmosphere?
No, I would use atmospheric but also a couple of hydrogens as boosters incase I overload
Probably better an idea than my attempt at a floating platform with hinges and pistons.
@@LunarKolony true, it’s always nice to have an extra thruster in each direction for when a ship is overloaded
