    We bought ours in January 2023. They must have made changes. No plastic smell at the beginning or since. The beeps are way too low to hear easily. The rotisserie works great. And the fan is fairly quiet, you hardly hear it at all. We are very happy with it.

    Great video, but by the way you can turn off the beeps. Just follow these steps turn off sounds: With the Vortex Plus Air Fryer Oven in Standby, touch and hold the “-“ Temperature and “-“ Time keys at the same time for 5 seconds.

    I just got my air fryer and I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't truly get the difference between air fry and the rest of the options. I clicked on this having no idea that you are vegan too. Texture matters so much to me and crispy is my jam. I hadn't thought about crisping tofu so I can't wait to try that. I put one of the trays above the other tray to help some with the flying around. I've heard to not submerge the door but just to wipe it off or the water inside the door can crack it? I don't know if that's true or not since I just got mine. The first thing I used was the rotisserie basket for fries bec I thought that was what I was supposed to do and they turned out same as yours and they did taste delicious but I still stuck most of mine back in for longer because I like mine alot more brown that most and they ended up really awesome. I didn't use the hook the first time either but the metal thing absolutely makes it much easier. I just wish there were more recipes in the book because anytime I want to cook something I have to go research how long and how I'm supposed to cook them so hopefully I can find a chart. Would love to see you do some videos of vegan meals in it like the chickpeas you mentioned. The first time I cooked my fries in the basket I also threw some dill pickle chips and vegan Buffalo wings and even though they all had very different Temps and times I kept an eye on them but they all came out crispy and well done like I like my food. I am with you on how loud it is and mine so far also the buttons are a little weird and sometimes too sensitive and other times they almost act turned off. Oh I definitely would LOVE to see you do kale chips and potato chips pleaaasee! I'm a newbie since I just got it last night and can't wait to try pizza but hope you'll do more videos because my peeps with air fryers all have the pull out basket types. Thanks for the intel!

    • @TotallyForkable
      @TotallyForkable  3 роки тому +3

      Yes texture is the big thing with the air fryer!! So easy to get food crispy! I like your solution about putting a tray above to prevent flying around; I'll have to try that.
      Also, I would love to make some chip videos; great idea!!

      I haven’t, and I’ve never even heard of flash fried spinach! The greens I’ve cooked in the air fryer (kale on pizza or something similar) tend to cook VERY quickly so I imagine with spinach you’d have to be super careful to keep an eye on it so it wouldn’t burn!

  • @JollyGreen79
    @JollyGreen79 Рік тому +1

    I agree with basically everything you said except for the noise level. It's not that loud. I wouldn't say it's any louder than a microwave which I also wouldn't call "really loud." Does it make noise? Yes. But is it an annoying amount of noise? No. Yes the beeps are loud af but you can shut the beeps off and fault/alarm beeps will still sound. For the money I don't think this thing can be beat. Being built by Instant Pot it's really good quality. No kitchen appliance is perfect unless you spend hundreds of not thousands of dollars. All in all good and accurate review though.

    • @TotallyForkable
      @TotallyForkable  Рік тому +1

      The noise isn't a dealbreaker but it's definitely an annoyance. It's not louder than, say, a blender but the difference is we often have things in the air fryer for 10-15 minutes, sometimes longer, so it's a more sustained noise which makes it more of a nuisance than other appliances. That said, we still love it and use it every day!

    I ordered this one by mistake - I wanted a basket type but larger and thought what a great deal for Black Friday ($89). And I couldn't cancel it. I just baked a Marie Calendars Berry Pie in a cast iron pan (actually fried it - it turned out incredible. Keep the temperature low and coat it with butter and egg.) So I hope this doesn't spoil me. I microwave potatoes and use a lot of oil - but it's Olive Oil and yummmmm. Now I'll be spoiled rotten.

    My Ninja’s are perfectly tempted. They hold 300 degrees as long as I set that. I started with the 6 1/2 quart air fryer Pressure cooker
    Then enjoyed the One with the Drawer that comes out for outside snacks and quick beautifully prepared treats
    Then I got a Motor home without an oven. Imagine that.
    So I got the Ninja the Stands up to store and lays down flat for oven use. It make the most beautiful toast fish pizza baked potatoes muffins fries and it also has total heat control and it holds it beautifully. Then when I am finished I place it in the Upright position and Then can access my Cooktop.
    It fits just perfectly and works perfectly. I have thought to myself what an ingenious design someone at Ninja must have had a Motorhome like me without an oven and creating this outstanding answer. They never have orders except the food. FYI

    I got an air fryer a year or two ago and I think I've used it less than 5 times haha. I liked it when I did use it! I just have a hard time incorporating new equipment.. same goes for workouts, if it requires extra accessories i'm just not gonna do it. I used the same toaster oven justification with mine too, I could swap it out and save counter space! I think if I got the.. shape? of oven that you have that might have happened, but I got a little dash one with a bucket that pulls out instead of an oven-style rack. I feel you on the noise thing.. the milk foaming wand on my espresso machine is the loudest thing in my kitchen and some days i don't bother using it because i feel like i'm gonna wake up the whole neighborhood 👀

    Dude,
    Thanks for giving me a heads up. You're a big girl, you'd think you could have cooked a chicken and asked someone to opine on the chicken. But I'll quit while I'm a head and find another reviewer.

    If you can't bear to see meat in an oven, you probably aren't the best source of advice for the vast majority of people who eat a normal diet. FAIL.

    I'll do a review on your presentation "vocal fryer." REALLY BAD. I don't understand why women grind the end of every sentence they speak. It's VERY nerve grinding. Also the jump cuts are extremely unprofessional. Use close-ups along with the wide shots and you won't have to use jump cuts.

      The great thing about UA-cam is that anyone can start their own channel and edit/speak however they want to! 🙌🏻
