    After months and months of checking many reviews online and on Amazon, I finally narrowed it down to the Instant Vortex Plus air fryer oven. And so far, I am very pleased with my choice. I saw the user manual and immediately just knew I was going to need to watch some UA-cam videos to get a better idea how to properly use it effectively and find some recipe ideas too. Thanks for this video. Very detailed.

      I just bought one and I started testing to see which pans and containers would fit in it and how I could make some fit in it too. I had to because now I am going to buy some silicone pans and I need to know what size will actually fit in it.

    *I like that I can "fry" something on a whim! An oil fryer takes so much more time to clean and prepare **MyBest.Kitchen** a chore which usually kept me from frying all together. Also, the lack of needing oil to fry means that my family and I are eating healthier... while still enjoying the crispiness of fried foods.*

      I haven't been able to get my door off. It's frustrating. This is my 3rd time back here and I still haven't gotten the door to come off. Additionally I still get that "plastic smell" after 2 years of cooking. These are my only 2 complaints. Otherwise, I love this air fryer. I have convinced quite a few people to get an air fryer.

    Thank you for your time and video. I'm late to the air fryer craze, but kept thinking I don't need one. It's a want and I have a regular oven. I don't like to cook so anything to makes making dinner easier, I like. I had debated the air fryer lid for my current IP. One comment mentioned this was better and I came looking for a how to video. Your video was spot on what I needed and to the point. Thank you for demonstrating it. You helped me decide. I like this better. I had heard the ovens were a pain to clean. I love that the door comes off. I have the tiny Hamilton Beach Toastation. It wins the award for the words tiny cooker. It works great, but the oven... forget it. It'll burn anything too tall and so hard to clean. I need a reason to get rid of it.

    Fantastic for bacon. Only half a standard pack at one time, use both trays, switch tray position when you flip. TIP: I set the whole thing (carefully) on my flat stove which has a great vent. You could hardly tell I was cooking bacon in the house. WATCH the bacon towards the end. Once I overlooked it and it was still so tasty.

    • @LanaUnderPressure
      @LanaUnderPressure  4 роки тому +1

      You are so right, I don't cook bacon any other way anymore. I will say be careful placing it on your stove. Many many people have done that with their Instant Pots and accidently turned on the stove and burned their pots. It happens all the time. The smoke on the side when cooking bacon is really just steam so no need to use a vent.

    Have you cut your finger when cleaning the inside of the basket yet. I just bought mine today and I love it. But when I went to clean the inside of the basket I cut my finger on the metal blade they have to help tumble things.
    I love it though.
    Tip: When cooking bacon if you put the other cooking tray on top of bacon it will keep it from curling and keep it flat. I havent had to use the latch, I pull the basket out at an angle and it comes right out. I didn't even pay attention to the latch till you pointed it out.
    Thanks for the vid and be careful when cleaning the basket with your hands. Very sharp blade in it.

    I've had a similar air fryer before, I love Tater Tots in the basket. I never thought of using the basket for hot dogs or bratwurst. That would be way easier than the skewers. Great idea! I'm expecting the Vector this week, I;m ready for rotisserie action again, I missed doing that.

    I have a very similar air-fryer made by Faberware. 😉 As a tip, whenever I cook something in my air-fry that has some fat, like pork chops, lamb chops, steaks, or has a coating that will become flaky and leave crumbs...I take a paper plate and hold it under the bottom of the rack as I pull it out...That way things like grease and other bits don't drop down in between the crack of the door and oven where they can become hard to clean out. Although the door is detachable and can be cleaned, I'd rather not fuss around with doing that too often. 😉
    Thanks for the upload...Well done. 😊

    Thank you for this! What's the best way to clean the inside after cooking something greasy like bacon?

    • @LanaUnderPressure
      @LanaUnderPressure  4 роки тому +3

      So the best way to clean the Vortex Plus is really to wipe it down after every use. I use a Norwex cloth and water and that works great. Because the Vortex is non-stick, if you clean it each time you really don't have to use harsh cleaners because it wipes off really well. I cook bacon all the time, it's the best. The trays I clean int he sink with just soap and sponge. I have never used the dishwasher yet, but you can. I really like the new Dawn Foaming Spray. It's great.

      The best way I found was to preheat it on Broil 400 degrees for 3 mins. Add toast when it says add food. Don't flip. It doesn't brown as much underneath but this way it also doesn't dry out and is closest to regular toast.

      Oooo how exciting! I was trying to mimic the rollers that they have for the hot dogs like at Costco and such. It's not hot air but a heating element and the hot dogs roll around near the heat. Plus I wanted to keep some of the juice and fat that comes out. But I bet you could do it on the air fry mode for a little less time.:)

      yes, it does release a ton out of the back.
      if you put it near a wall or on a counter it will get that yellow grease that is hard to remove all over anything near by.
      you can feel the very hot, moist air releasing out of the back of the machine. its junk ;)
      Not sure how she could say not at all. XD
      No machine that uses mass amounts of hot air just doesn't release it....
      Just not how it works.
