- Jess, my dad, and I all had a great weekend up at one of our favorite lakes. Beautiful scenery, amazing weather, and some delicious rainbow trout were highlights of this summer weekend from earlier this year. Makes me very excited for next summer's adventures!

This clip brought back great memories of fishing with my dad post stroke. Those times were presous, as u know we did not think initially we would be able to do it anymore...
I know the feeling. We have a yearly trip up there. One of our favorite lakes to fish and we've been visiting since I was a child, so it's good to keep the tradition going, even if it's a bit more challenging now.

Oh yeah for sure! I actually want to do a bunch more hike-in trips to lakes and rivers this next summer. Fly rod will make many more appearances!

I whish i had seen ur dads rod holder much sooner. My dad had a stroke too, and it would have made our fishing trips so much easier. Any tips on what he made?
He found it online 7 or 8 years back. He says there's no brand or anything on it, though. I'll take a look when I see him next! I did do a brief search on adaptive fishing equipment for stroke patients and there are several new options that I am seeing across a few websites!
He used to have an electric reel, too. The older ones had bulky cords and battery packs, though - not super easy to use. I know they've made some serious improvements on that front, too.
