- We found em! Some great weather, awesome smallies, and a great day overall! In the end, my favorite bait pulled through again. The spinnerbait has been my MVP this whole season and I love it!

Fun video, dunno if I would eat any resident smallies off the river though due to PCBs. If I were, it would definitely be the smaller fish that I'd keep, not the bigger ones. I know that doesn't probably make sense at first sniff, but the smaller fish will have fewer PCBs in their system (a 1/2-1 lb smallie still has plenty of meat on it), plus it has the added benefit of letting the bigger 2 lbrs keep growing and having a better fishery. Just my two cents.
Anyhow, favorite lure would probably be either a green pumpkin or bluegill chatterbait with a boot-tail swimbait on it for more action. Keep getting out the good content!
Yeah, I try to limit the number of smallies I eat in general. Also probably wouldn't eat any downstream of Portland/Vancouver at all!
That's a good bit of info, though. I'll lower my size cap a bit next time!
I think I own 3 or 4 chatterbaits but have only caught a handful of fish with them (if that!) I love their action, but I haven't put much time on them yet.
Strike King Zero 5" Worm in watermelon/red flake! It's the only lure I've caught a bass on so far, so that's the favorite 😂😂 and mine was a 2.5 😉

@@FishandForage I tried to get some fishing in while in Montana but was either rained or snowed out. Otherwise, I mainly was visiting family.
Ahh I want to adventure there for some fly fishing someday...
that's what I was hoping to do as well. Never went fly fishing when I lived in Montana, but wanted to fish in Glacier Park in the Flathead River. But it was closed for the most part and had four inches of snow.
