From the manual: For Scout and FTR 1200 models, change your engine oil and filter at the following odometer readings: 500 miles (800 kilometers) 10,000 (16,000) 20,000 (32,000) 30,000 (48,000) 40,000 (64,000) 50,000 (80,000) The thunder stroke engine on the Chief is every 5k.
Do it every 3k to 5k. I cannot emphasize this enough. The 10k is recommended so you can't blame Polaris when shit goes wrong. All manufacturers do this. For the health of the bike, do it every 3k to 5k.
Awesome video and great shirt!
Excellent video! Where did you get your oil filter wrench?
Thanks, Lindsay
You should do more videos on the Indian scout
good video whats that faring
Proper oil level check is run bike for 30 secs and shutoff. Then, in upright position check level. Rinse and repeat.
Excellent
drain bolts are 15 ft pounds torque
I'd reduce it to 12. You can bust the tap.
Walmart super tech 20w-50 syn. and fram filter
Klotz kit is cheaper and the oil is probably better. Copper crush washers, not brass.
I see 5k not 10k on oil. Which is it?

I'd never do that. Every 3 to 5k is better
