The announcer states to use a service lift to ensure proper drain with it in a vertical position. Then performs the process with the motorcycle on the side stand. Which is correct, vertical or side stand?
it doesn't really matter that much, it is just recommended, but side stand works equally well. maybe would affect like an OIL BOTTLE CAP equivalent of oil to be not drained, but that would not affect much as the old oil will get diluted with the new one anyways. But in the first place, this much oil will not be left anyways, it would be even lower than that.
15 ft lbs. is too much for the drain plugs. The last generation scout also called for 15 ft lbs. and they would strip. This “new” (more like updated) engine obviously shares some design from the previous generation, especially when it comes to the engine cases. This would leave me to believe 15 ft lbs., is probably still too much, after all it’s just aluminum. I go 10ft lbs, and it’s plenty.

Yeah I spotted that, so what is the correct way 🤔
