@@EmmaRiddle543 This concert was in December 2011. Both Tim and Henrique are almost correct... Ed was born in Feb 1991 so he was 21 at the time, but let's not be pedants, hey? :)
"he sold 2 million records this year and I just made him say tampon" You are a Fucking Legend Good Sir. YOu gotta repect a genius who can sneak homophone into a song.
my mate literally just mentioned how Ed Sheeran is now in everything because he saw him in game of thrones and I'm watching a bit of Tim before bed - and look who pops up hahaha
I was there!! It was one the greatest nights of my life! This was actually the most incredible performance of any song I've ever seen, it's so beautiful... I hope someone has a video of Tim and Brian Cox singing White Wine In The Song, which was the next one he did. Those two songs actually made up the best fifteen-off minutes of my life! They were actually magnificent!
Brian Cox the sexy astrophysicist?! Oh man, I would nth degree ❤ love to see that!!! Anyone know if a recording actually exists??? And damn if wouldn't cream in my knickers just listening to Cox & Minchin idea swapping... fangirling hard lofl...
I was also there that night, which was an epic, rambling show which I think finished about an hour late and ended with Robin Ince closing out the show in his coat and backpack ready to make a run for the last train. One of the last things I took my father to see, so a particularly fond memory. Nice to see this performance captured.
Gingernutski Well yeah, but to me it's just weird sometimes when you bring a famous artist on your show just to sing back-up. But then again, I guess Ed Sheeran wasn't as big at that time
DANGJOS Robin Ince's science & comedy show which is really a hotchpotch of people and stuff (songs, book excerpts, comedy bits, science experiments, skype talks, panels, Brian Cox talking about stuff no one understand a thing...etc etc). Lots of randomness and lots of surprise guests.
I mean I knew Tim Minchin was a musical, lyrical and comedic genius, but you don't really appreciate how well his comedic timing is until he speeds up the song just a little bit and it doesn't work half as well. Still super impressive.
I really don't think there's enough in my heart and brain to handle this. I've seen both live in the last 6 weeks, and it's sort of driven me insane in the best possible way.
As soon as I heard this song by Tim, I wanted a collaboration with Ed Sheeren, grainy video, but happy to see it, this is 11 years old. I’m disabled, so I’m cruising UA-cam a lot.
This is one Rupert grint away from being the greatest collaboration of all time
I regret I only have one like to give.
how can you regret something that is not caused by a decision you made?
Niels Emil Naumann fuck off
yeah fuck off Niels Emil Naumann
Niels Emil Naumann I am a bit late, but yeah farck right off dude.
I’m so glad big famous musicians like Tim Minchin are helping smaller less known musicians like Ed Sheeran
😂
This was 11 years ago…
So true, look how poor Ed Sheeran is dressed. So nice of Tim to give him this chance. I heard Sheeran has done some other stuff since.
The fuk?
this comment has not aged well :D
"He's sold 2 million records this year and I just made him say 'Tampon' at the Apollo"
Crossroads Much obliged, I couldn't quite catch it in the video. Now I can laugh with the audience.
"Fuck him, he's 20"
Henrique Erzinger
no he’s not

@@EmmaRiddle543 TIm says that right after, dude... I have no idea how old he is.
Love that Tim has changed the entire tempo of the song to accommodate Ed and made it a bit more jazzy, just amazing
I never knew that Ed and Tim knew each other. But this is truly a dreamteam.
"The A team" :)))
& you call yourself a fan! Not like I knew explicitly either
so this happened and noone had a decent camera to record it.....
@@nordicaariyson84 good chance no one planned to record it and this is just 8 year old phone footage taken on the spot, how times change
@@captainfantastic4581 The G Team!
... Did Tim Minchin just get a huge round of applause for making Ed Sheeran say "Tampon"? That's brilliant :')
My left ear really enjoyed this
HAHA. I came to say the same thing.
Thank you! I had only put my right ear bud in
Julian Kort-Pieters I'm deaf out of my left ear, so my right one enjoyed it 😂
beeveearr same
haahaha
I hope this introduces more Ed Sheeran fans to the joy and ingenious that is Tim Minchin! love it!
Why has this song been in my life for 10 years but I’ve only now just seen this beautiful collab?!!?!
Felt like Tim had to tone himself down so as to not completely upstage Ed.
and he still did.
Well, it was his work
'Haha they are very different vibes
Not at all! Neither of them have big egos!
It was Tim’s show, so he’s allowed to upstage Ed.
They're getting intelligent... They're performing in packs now... Sweet harmonizing packs...
Clever girl...
@@Schmidtelpunkt I love you.
Marvel: "Avengers infinity war is the most ambitious crossover event in history."
Me:
literally was about to type this
The only thing that would make this a greater crossover would be a Willie Nelson cameo.
"He sold two million records this year and I just made him say "tampon"". I lost it.
reindeerman214 "fuck it, he's 20"
He should see where he is today.

I was there! It was my 18th birthday. The whole show (esp this bit) was freaking awesome, justsayin'
Hey 25. Hope life is going well for you.
Edit sometimes I don't math good, 27?
Ed should release a version of not perfect, get it to number 1 and give it the recognition it deserves. Easily capable of Christmas number one
James Knowles The ideal Christmas #1 is, of course, White Wine in the Sun.
@@qwertyTRiG
That's the song he really needs to redo, but only as a duet when his eldest is 21 or 31.
@@OriginalPiMan Oh, that would be gorgeous.
Have you heard his latest music? He's going deeper.

He can have a dark side, but I don't think it's to appeal to the teenage market.

You know if you combine their names they make Ted Shmeerin.
Sounds like a good name for an elderly Jew

my two favourite gingers in the world, combined they have more soul than the whole of humanity 😍
"sticks and stones may break my bonesss
but chains and whips excite me~"
Chains and whips threaten me, I don't like being harmed.
auto then threaten them instead
I didn't think it was possible, but this song just got better.
I read this with the melody of the Bruce song from matilda
My right ear feels neglected.
I was jiggling my headphones thinking it was them!
It's horrible isn't it
Very true
this had real soul in it!
surprising, since, y'know....
So it’s true that one of the slangs of red heads for brits is they have no soul 😂
American hear. Proudly soulless white male. We’re all soulless.
This is glorious.
Tim & Ed together? This needs to happen more often! :D
never thought i would see tiim minchin on stage with ed sheeran performing prejudice :O so gold lol

Enio Nery haha very funny.

Jacob Logan Maybe Conan O'Brien on the backing guitar..
Omg Florence Welch and Tim Minchin... I think I might just faint
