People make the Bo and Tim comparison a lot.. they are both musical comedians. Bo is basically perfect.. But Tim’s musical prowess is elevated. Bo is pop. Tim is jazzy. Both are on repeat.
The intelligence of this guy, and the execution at which he so eloquently expresses his thoughts is mind pleasing! To me it’s like watching glass blowing - high temperatures, blowing/forming, and exquisitely detailed design in the finished glass piece! Just simply beautiful!
This is the epitome of everything that makes a Tim song amazing. He’s a lyrical genius. The chorus is actually great. And of course it’s hilarious. Love ya Tim! We need ya back!
This is one of my favourite Tim songs! I shows just how much he loves someone, obviously Sarah, in such a non-traditional way incorporating dark humour and lyrics that make me shiver.

It's brilliant how in the middle of doing a long darkside riff, he starts "forgetting" It's supposed to be dark and starts playing with it and getting silly. A man who has the cajones to be silly, to me, is one secure in his manhood enough that he isn't spending his time and energy (or mine), trying to prove it. Awesome!
This man is phenomenal. I just cannot compare his greatness to anybody. My dad is my absolute favourite person in the world - but Tim Minchin is shoving him in the ribs. Check out Pompey Kev (Benidorm Song).
Clever Tim has grown up and is now even a more thoughtful humanist. Buy his CD 💿 Apart Together released in 2020. Different M.O., but a fine example of his matured critical thinking.
LOVE TIM MINCHIN MORE AND MORE AFTER INTERVIEWS SUCH A TALENTED HUMBLE GUY HE IS SUCH A FUNNY MAN I TAKE MY HAT OFF TO YOU 🥰 TIM MINCHIN YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL BRILLIANT AMAZING PERSON TAKE CARE MATE ❤️🦋🌈
Hm... its kind of personell taste, but to intodruce someone new to Tim Minchin "The Fence", "RocknRoll Nerd", "I'm in a Cage" (nothings ruins comedy like arenas) should be offered to understand the "humour" in "Dark Side" Anyway, thanks for uploading. Tim Minchin is just great!
I think they made a mistake trying to actually rank Tim's songs to make this list. E.g. So Fucking Rock is fun to perform, but possibly just singing it is a but meh because of the long beginning part with no vocals. Also, what counts? Just Tim, obviously. Him composing it but having someone else to make it suitable for an orchestra? I mean the Heritage Orchestra tour, but you'd also have to rank Matilda and Groundhog Day. Covers? Probably, but I'd say his work in Jesus Christ Superstar and his cover for Hallelujah is pretty good. I mean at this point you might as well rank the top 5 interviews, because the time finding all the songs and actually ranking them on a good system and actually ranking them would take forever. Also, what counts as a song? Is Cage-Nerd two songs? Is In a Cage two songs because of Nothing Ruins Comedy? There's so many edge cases and too many good songs that you'd feel bad for leaving them out. Like I said (more like you read) 3 minutes ago, since the paragraph is longer than Tim's massive clock. It's a mistake trying to rank Tim's work in the first place.
Its meant to be an Eddie Vedder/Pearl Jam impression, but Creed followed a lot of the influences from them and the rest of the grunge era, so you're not too far off.
@@melaleucam8 I agree Tim’s music is of way higher quality than Bo. But although they both have a similar act, they don’t focus on the same aspects of it. I don’t think it’s fair to suggest one is better than the other. Bo has gone in a totally different direction musically in his last album and I think it’s really great ! Less piano focused which gives him more flexibility. Michin is the better pianist by a large margin, or at the very least composer, that is undeniable.
I'm looking back on this beautiful work of art, born too late to see it made, born too early for it to be studied as the masterpiece it is. I'm in an era where this will be used to better society as we know it. People will gather in glowing worship at the genius of this comment. War, systemic abuse, racism, sexism, greed. It's all ending due to the universal agreement of this comment. Thank you.
Sure, they are the same act. Kind of like how Beethoven and Mozart are the same act right? Or like how apples and oranges are the same fruit right? Things that are similar on superficial levels are always the exact same thing right?
I love this man more than any performer or creator I’ve ever seen or heard of.

Look at his eyes when he sings "God forbid I should hurt someone". Stabs through to my non-existent soul.
What would I do without you Tim.
Tim Minchin is an international treasure. ❤
My new fave..absolutely world class pianist, comedian, singer, like a very dark Elton John...I cant get enough of him...total classic!
Dark Elton

Absolutely amazing. I've never felt compelled to laugh and cry at the same time quite like this man has accomplished.
Title: Tim Minchin greatest songs
Me: all of them
Cleverest musical comedian.

The Fence, dude.
THE FENCE.
Why the fuck isnt the fence on this list?

5:04 You know it's good when Tim has to contain his own laughter. I also ended up understanding that joke real quick.
Always beautiful playing and music, with such well thought out lyrics! Love you Mr. Minchin, listening to your music always makes my day brighter!
Where has this soothsayer been all my days??? I'm in love~
Tim Minchin is one of the funniest people on Earth!
The stream of no talking and just the piano lasted (By my counting) 3 minutes and 6 seconds. Fucking legend.
He demonstrates the amazing capabilities of the human mind as much as any physicist! Good Lord what a genius!
This man has far too much talent for one single person.
YUP, I'm love. He wasn't kidding about dark side, his Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar is as painful as it gets. BRilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
This man is phenomenal. I just cannot compare his greatness to anybody. My dad is my absolute favourite person in the world - but Tim Minchin is shoving him in the ribs. Check out Pompey Kev (Benidorm Song).
His best is "Thank You God". But these 5 are all good too.
My top 3 are Dark Side, Lullaby and Thank you god.
Comedic genius. Thanks Tim.
"I spend so much time hating it but it never says a bad word about me" -that speaks so loudly to me it hurts.
The Heritage Orchestra version of 'You Grew On Me' is something else
the strings break me
Me my grandad and my Aunty all love Tim Minchin
Best 🇦🇺 talent, love you Tim ❤️🤣
the second one is low key making me emotional
So glad this came up as a recommendation 🤣
My two favorite were always Confessions (the one where he sings I'll always love you at end) 2. Canvas Bag 3. RnR Nerd, and if course my body one.
I love this so much!
The callback to Pearl Jam had me rolling! XD
Thank you for this

This performance of "Dark Side" was at the end of a 2 hour concert when he must have been exhausted, yet he missed not one note or nuance.
It's gonna be a quality day and night on 2nd this week at Leeds Direct Arena.. on his catering team and then watch show after ☺️🤣🎶🤣🎶❤️
envy, envy, envy Tim's mind, talent, drive.
it's true what he says. once you go ginger, you can never go back, but that's because they wont let you out of the basement.
Hilarious... Wait, don't shut the door...
Love the way you get away with singing bout some of the atrocities in our world in your songs.

I read the ""strange voice" he uses in Dark Side is a reminiscence to Eddie Vedder
Bleeding heart Gingers, are we all the same ?
Victor Borge's grandson twice removed?
I dont believe 33 minutes is sufficient to include all of Tim's best work, you need several hours at least.
This is the only time I'd like a "first" comment over the rest
Dude, why did you put various volumes on a compilation? Couldn't you make it to similar volume?
if i woudnt have you ))
On the topic of Ginger. I used to offer discounts to Gingers on my market stall. It turns out keeping a closed Ginger economy can be quite lucrative.
Yum
Not gonna lie, I learned something in the Ginga song. Don't get mad, I wrote it with an A.

Why does he not where shoes
Has anyone seen the "reaction" vid by an African American? V funny. The facial expressions of the American were worth re money
I generally find American reactors laugh in all the wrong spots and aussie humor mostly goes over their heads.
Joey Batey and Lars Ulrich had a baby with Bo Burnham
Wow.. What kind of drugs is this guy on, and why aren't all people on drugs this entertaining? Cause that would be a cool world..

Are you suggesting Bo is better?
