So when you have faith in your wife it is a denial of observation? Faith is trust. Substitute faith for trust and you will sound less stupid and uninformed. Trusting your wife is a decision you make or a natural occurrence due to your personal experience. It's not really something you can prove or test. Trust in God is the same way. It's personal. Christians stop trying to prove God. Atheists stop trying to disprove God. Both are a waste of time. This guy is clearly bitter against Christians. Most atheists are. Their disbelief is personal, not fact-based. No one spends this much energy denying something with no axes to grind.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Faith is about believing something that you feel and you know in your heart and soul. You’ve never known that so you have no understanding of it.

He says how creation is not completely understood and probably never will be although the big bang cosmology is probably the best explanation any body's ever going to come up with and oh by the way it's confirmed by observations and math but there's still little areas where we don't understand so they stick God in there because it makes them feel good. Then Don throws in, so it's like a god-of-the-gaps thing, right?
Matt does the typical atheist two-step. He can't answer the question, ignores what we KNOW, brings up the big bang that he has no idea what he's talking about, then throws in how creationists stick God in there because it makes them feel good.
He brings up the big bang. Not only is it stupid as it is, but it has nothing to do with creation.
"----Misconceptions----
The following is a partial list of misconceptions about the Big Bang model:
The Big Bang as the origin of the universe: One of the common misconceptions about the Big Bang model is the belief that it was the origin of the universe. However, the Big Bang model does not comment about how the universe came into being. Current conception of the Big Bang model assumes the existence of energy, time, and space, and does not comment about their origin or the cause of the dense and high temperature initial state of the universe.----"

Then, if that was not stupid enough of Matt to bring it up, he also says of the big bang, ---"although the big bang cosmology is probably the best explanation anybody's ever going to come up with and oh by the way it's confirmed by observations and math but there's still little areas where we don't understand so they stick God in there because it makes them feel good."---
Again, ----"oh by the way it's confirmed by observations and math"----
NO, it's NOT!
But wait, Matt has more stupid flowing from his brain, ----"there's still little areas where we don't understand so they stick God in there because it makes them feel good."---
Let's look at those ----"still little areas"---even though this has nothing to do with answering creation.

Dumbass Matt does not even know BASIC science that proves creation can't happen naturally. He says ----"creation is not completely understood and probably never will be"---yet we KNOW now that creation had to happen supernaturally. Now, if Matt has the science to prove that the laws were not present or needed when we got creation, he must offer proof of that. Matter of fact, Matt must offer how we got the laws of nature to begin with out of chaos.
Real science says nothing does nothing. Real science says if there was something there already it must fit with the evidence of what we know. We know the 1LT says there's a conservation of energy. It can change forms and neither can be created or destroyed. Creation cannot happen by natural means. The 2LT has various aspects, one being the universe is winding down, entropy. Usable energy is becoming less usable, so at one point usable energy was at its max. This all points to a supernatural creation, by a supernatural creator at a certain point in which matter, space and time were created. When I read how it can happen otherwise, ALL the fools resort to science-fiction. Once a supernatural creation is accepted, then the next step is finding proof of what supernatural power did it.
Then the extreme order we have in our universe that defies all physics, but....., not to Matt. It's just happened by mere chances even though we prove it can't happen by chance.

“Science adjusts its views based on what's observed
Faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved.― Tim Minchin
Tim does not know what biblical faith is because he just does not care to know but he'd rather fart out lies.
Biblically, faith means trust. It's a trust by evidence seen. God asks that we prove things. To reason. To get knowledge. To study. God has nothing to hide. We develop trust from what is seen, and that which is not seen yet is trusted also because of the trust built up from what is seen. It's much like a human relationship. We don't trust much until a person has gained that trust from what is observed. The difference is though, God is not limited to human powers. He created us.
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
His opening of "Science adjusts its views based on what's observed"
Tim is a liar. He believes his god of nothing did miracles naturally with nothing as proof it could. He cares NOTHING about what is observed. What a hypocrite!
His god claims to have given us the universe, fine-tuning of the universe for life, life from non-life, information for life before and after it began, the laws of nature, etc, etc, when we know that your god of nothing can do nothing. His god of nothing has nothing to offer and its followers only offer nothing of evidence for their god of nothing. That makes him nothing of importance but the followers of the god of nothing are so delusional that they think they do have something to offer to defend their god of nothing.

When I read how it can happen otherwise, ALL the fools resort to science-fiction. Once a supernatural creation is accepted, then the next step is finding proof of what supernatural power did it.-----
Then the extreme order we have in our universe that defies all physics, but....., not to atheists/agnostics. It's just happened by mere chances even though we prove it can't happen by chance. Funny!

And life? Well, it just came from non-life. It's so absurd it's even hard to type that, but....., atheists/agnostics claim to believe it happened somehow by natural means. Again, funny!
Many have brought up such issues how funny it is, including James Tour.

Then, what this life did after it started by mere chance can't happen by science, but....., atheists/agnostics believe it did. Funny!
Life takes information to form and proceed on. But to atheists/agnostics, chaos through time gave us information. Although it's even hard to write such a ridiculous statement, they believe it. All one can do is laugh at such stupidity.

I've kept this very basic and brief. I can provide much deeper, yet there's no need to since each point proves there is no explanation for such things to have happened naturally. This IS evidence against such things happening naturally. Lame excuses of why it can still have happened naturally with no science to support it are just that, lame excuses.
There's a ton more. If you want a laugh, see what atheists/agnostics believe.
This makes me want to see Tim Minchin love again. The last time I saw him live was in NYC after the pope quit so he did the pope song and if the pope own a disco. It was a great night.
I hope so too. Thank you very much for sharing.
very talented and deep comedian, not enjoyed a watch like this in a long time.
All i know is.. I came via my mum and dad, i know I'll die, and what I do in the middle is up to me.
"They might feel the same about the theory of gravity and float the fuck away "
Oh my gosh! What a huge find. This guy is talented in so many ways! Not just talent, logistics too. Oh my...
Yes to this man!
I’m floored by his talent
Gee, I sure like this guy. He really gets me, really understands how I feel about a lot of things.
And is a dam good musician too. Hope I can see him perform in person some day, but until then, I am grateful for his material on UA-cam.
Science adjusts it's views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.
brilliantly said!
The whole act is just hillarious, great guy.
I've got the full show on bluray, it's great, such a talent, and as a pianist myself, his piano skills are incredible
Alex Gowland autodidactic too
I have them too, including a rare one brought over with a friend from Australia.
I reckon one day he could play piano as good as Elton John. 😜
God damn it Tim, what a beast. 10/10
Pure Genius. Thanks from the uk.
Half way in - already sooo good. Keep it up Tim!
hey, let's start a cult and follow this guy around against his will. that would be awesome. who wants to join?
No, Brian is the true messiah.
I think he dropped his sandal. it's a sign.
mdiem he's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy 😆
"Love without consent is stalking" quote from another of his songs :)
You mean religion
It amuses me that the religious expect to be given the right to believe in their imaginary friend but as soon as you say your an atheist your spoken to and treated like dog shit, that has been my experience for the last 50yrs. I was sent to Sunday school and at age 10 had the nerve to question the possibility of Noah’s Ark, I’ve been a non believer ever since
I was told at about the age of 10 by my grandmother that there was no Santa. I then asked her about the tooth fairy and she responded they all are just imaginary fantasies made up for children. I assumed that this included the second in charge god (at 10 years of age god is second to Santa) was included in the list of made up fantasies. I never changed my mind some 50 years later. Thanks to my grandmother who was possibly the most religious person I have ever known.
From my experience living among religious people, a vast majority of them believe that atheists have no moral compass and that our lives are pointless bcs we don't devote it to a god. So yeah
@@purpleconfusion6215 pretty horrifying to think that the only reason these people behave morally is because of a fear of being boiled in pits of oil for years and years and burnt of all the things they hold dear.
And they have such an expectation of themselves that they believe that without that fear they would be mindless rapists and murderers. And expect that of us as well. All you need to be a moral person is to not be a psychopath penis.
@@bruhmoment1835 You can try and ask a religious person, whether they behave morally just because their religion tells them to, or for fear of hell.
I'd bet my shoes, that answer will be "no".
Because people don't get their morals from religion, they put their morals into religion.
@@sarahdeshay1394 so all those years you kept to being a loser like Tim?
“Science adjusts its views based on what's observed
Faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved."― Tim Minchin

His god claims to have given us the creation of the universe naturally but that can't be.

I saw Tim live on his most recent unfunny tour. I’m going again as he’s doing his encore shows and I’m ecstatic, he’s one of the best to ever do it.
Thank you. I feel better now and not so alone in my thoughts.
Fantastically funny and clever. Nou have got yourself a new fan my friend.
