- M52 oil pump rebuilding
The M52 oil pump is designed for use in various BMW models, including the 3-Series, 5-Series, and Z3. Over time, the components of the pump can wear out or become damaged, leading to reduced oil pressure and potential engine damage.

To rebuild an M52 oil pump, you will need to disassemble the pump and inspect each component for signs of wear or damage. This may include the gears, bearings, and seals.
If any components are damaged or worn out, they will need to be replaced with new parts. It's important to use high-quality replacement parts to ensure the pump functions properly and provides sufficient oil pressure.
After replacing any damaged or worn parts, you will need to reassemble the pump and test it to ensure it's functioning properly. This may include checking the oil pressure to make sure it meets the manufacturer's specifications.
Overall, rebuilding an M52 oil pump requires knowledge of engine mechanics and the ability to work with precision and attention to detail. It may be a job best left to a professional mechanic or experienced engine builder.

The notch on the outer rotor should have been pointing inwards but in your video you installed it pointing outwards
I installed it just the way I removed it and am very sure that it has not be loss before
i have seen a video of a guy dissasembling a new out of the box oil pump and the rotor was ponting outwards,.. so where in the manual says it have to be pointing inwards? and also all dots are allways facing so you can watch it, maybe im wrong but i have seen several videos and only one guy said it have to be pointing inwards
So it would appear that on the single-dot rotor (at least for me) it was pointed inward when I dis-assembled my original pump. On the rotor with three dots, I have seen people pointing them outwards. However, provided that once the pump is disassmbled, it is put back together with the same orientation (matching dots in both faces (inner or outer) and also rotational alignment with-respect to each other) it should not matter. I say this because the inner/outer rotor and the body wear together to form a unique wear pattern. From new it would not matter as the rotors would be perfect in all axis.
