"X's behind me and circles to remind me of all this broken time" = The X's on a calendar from past days and the circles of the present day, which reminds him he's stuck doing nothing.. John Mayer. You sir, are a lyrical genius.
a real Mayer fan KNOWS that all of his work is his best work they are all amazing in their own way I don't have a favorite album or song because they are all my favorite equally
And the most amazing thing about john’s music is; live it’s even better. He has to fit it in to record on the recording when it has a mind blowing entro and extended live solos🤯🤳🏼⭐️ best live show I’ve ever seen in Las Vegas
I'm a die hard John Mayer song so dont take this the wrong way- but I'm actually very glad John changed his career when he did. I feel like if he continued down a path like this he could have been drastically caught up in pop rather then a genre that is timeless. So rather than looking at it like a career suicide, maybe it is just the opposite. Not to say I dont love this song though! How could you not like anything the man touches?!
Youre either not a big Mayer fan or you haven't listened to the album enough. Everything new sounds bad when you compare it to what you know but after a couple listens of the new album it'll start to feel like old JM
Oh wow...amazing..so glad I’m here in the now..of time...my first time hearing it so cool...Love this❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶👏👏👏👏✌️✌️✌️🤗🤗👍⚡️⚡️🎸⚡️⚡️✨✨✨✨💥💥💫💫☀️☕️🐻🌒🎉✨💥🎊☄️☄️🐶😁
Music is the universal language. Listening to John's music takes me too a place where I'm at Peace, within my world. I've been listening to Great guitarists for more years than I care to remember and standing at the top today is John Mayer. When John, Steve and Pino play together, they're so good it's scary.
The most amazing man alive. I am so glad he is recovering and is coming back. I don't know how I would get through without his music and him. I don't get why he gets such a bad rep. He is not what people say at all. He has an amazing soul!!!!
I LOVE JM and I have since Room for Square can out! I think he is brillant and who cares about his personal life, people really need to move past that aspect of him; who in the music industry isn't cocky, if I was as talented as him, I would be too. This song is brillant and is making me SO very excited for his new album, whenever that may be coming out.
I like the fact that Mayer keeps trying new things. Personally, I don't think it's not nice. It's kinna groovy but so not Mayer's groovy. Like he says that by the time he lays the bread crumbs for us to see and take in, he's already gone!! :)
JOHN......................................... get back to what made you great in the first place. ROOM FOR SQUARES was one of the greatest selling albums of all time.
His bass player wrote it for his own album and got John to do guest vocals. So you can buy it if you want, just take a few seconds and look things up before complaining ;)
Oh, and apparently, this isn't exactly John Mayer's song. His long-time bass guitarist (David LaBruyere) released an EP called Farrago Dance Mix, and John provided vocals for a track called "Broken Time."
Just said the same to my dad ,he's a big Steely Dan big fan,I was brought up on this my parents music thanks to my dad, well parents,my mom played who's this on the radio when I was growing up but my pops gave me Hendrix,SRV,Zepplin ,Clapton etc.
Have you ever noticed the look that comes over Meyer when he's playing a killer solo? I swear when I see this that he's having an outer body experience, his playing goes to another level. A good example of this [Voodoo Child at Red Rocks] this solo is from another universe trust me, you will be transported to another realm.
Hell yeah!!! He can make his guitar sing like no one. I would go even if he wasn't singing, but his voice is so amazing. Lets hope they get this surgery right!
man what the fuck, this is absolutely amazing! what is this? blues, pop, techno, what is this? do you know what I was thinking? john created a new music style... it's the only way to think when I try to classify him...
@Cbluesrocker Maybe it's "x's and o's" as in hugs and kisses. Who knows? We just gotta ask John Mayer and the man who wrote the song. Which I believe is his former bass player.
This is a David LaBruyere (John's former bass player) song on Dayla's CD. This was never going to be on Paradise Valley , Born and Raised or any Mayer CD , it's like 5 or 6 years old.
@xddlolx hate to say anything bad about jm he is my favorite but i always liked the fact that we have someone still doing real music who is the most talented artist i can think of doing the poppy bubble gum junk... i love the continuum, where the light is style and i dont think he needs to change

Its David LaBruyere FEAT. John Mayer if someone is wondering why it isn´t released on one of Johns Albums
Ty for the education. This is excellent mash.
i used to love this song in my teens and it took me ages to find it again - so groovy!
John Mayer is the master of groove today...
I would love to hear him and paul gilbert jam to groves...
bad ass...

Mayer's like the Renaissance man of music! so amazing! makes you want to dance all day & night! :)
I don't think i could love him any more! Can't wait till his album comes out!
Youre either not a big Mayer fan or you haven't listened to the album enough. Everything new sounds bad when you compare it to what you know but after a couple listens of the new album it'll start to feel like old JM
I can't wait for the new album and tour. I am so glad he is better. His music gets me through!!! Much love John
This is such an amazing piece of musical perfection at its finest. Love It! I love you John Mayer you are truly my favorite artist.

Ever since I first listened to the track Neon I've loved Mayer's funky side.
Bravo, I'm definitely diggin' the sounds of this
What a great composition and arrangement. As I drummer i don't listen to the words on the songs I like the most. This is very creative.
this is an example of how john is so flexible, unassuming, courageous, and talented. a true artist.
this is incredible, oh my god?
WOW! I didn't know this existed. This is amazing! I love the fricken arrangement of this song.
Wow this is amazing, it makes me so happy. This is my new 'wake up it's a good day' song for sure!
His voice is magical
olivieri32 INCREDIBLY SOULFUL PIPES

Got a distinctly Level 42 Feel about it - shows the JM range and diversity - a musical legend - JM you kick ass !
@JamesMcCrindle131 So true. The opening guitar on this is really cool and soulful. No one plays like John.
This song is like Jamiroquai and John Mayer having a love child. Really really cool and funky. Especially that mini sax groove in the middle.
Wow! 70's flavor with 80's production. Very cool. Seriously.
His bass player wrote it for his own album and got John to do guest vocals. So you can buy it if you want, just take a few seconds and look things up before complaining ;)
His diversity, I think he just made up a new genre! lol cool I dig it JM
AKA Sob Rock
I've been listening to this song over and over. I love it! Thank you for sharing. Do you know when it was recorded?
There's no way this song could be more awesome :)

This song makes me so happy!
One of his best.
holy crap how groovy is this?!?! love it
Just now hearing this ...
Nice I hear shades of steely dan .

Just said the same to my dad ,he's a big Steely Dan big fan,I was brought up on this my parents music thanks to my dad, well parents,my mom played who's this on the radio when I was growing up but my pops gave me Hendrix,SRV,Zepplin ,Clapton etc.

This must be one of the best innovations I've ever heard from him.

It was in my iTunes somewhere!! I must have downloaded it at some point and forgotten to put it up!
It does have a nice groove hey :)

This is a David LaBruyere (John's former bass player) song on Dayla's CD.
This was never going to be on Paradise Valley , Born and Raised or any Mayer CD , it's like 5 or 6 years old.
@Matito29 The drum groove is basically Billie Jean. And the whole song is very funk driven with a prominent and recognizable bass part.
Genius.
this is my kind of music.
Mayer's next album will be a club music album
YoYoLeeLee it wasn’t
5: 38 😂😂😂😂 sure wasn’t
I Love It!
this thing goes!
WHY is this NOT on the ALBUM!?!!!???JOHN!!!???
Brilliant guitar, great rythm, woo hoo!!!
This is great tbh
This is awesome
That song could go on for another four hours and still sound great.
also it's techinically not john mayer's song, it's David LaBruyere song and it was featured on his album
amazing!
pass me a glass of wine so I can enjoy it like it should be enjoyed
this song took me to funky town!
fantastiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic

I am actually making a UA-cam movie called Broken Time, and this will be the end credits theme!
Cool! How's it going?
Awesome!
Lovin this funk

Cannot express how much I LOVE this song, or how utterly depressed I am that it's not on itunes!!! :C
It's on David LaBruyere's album
You can't be serious. This was tacky and bizarre.
Jake Klein Thank you!
