Eddie's "competition" was literally 100% tailored for the 500 kg lift by the WSM, specifically planned between these two. Thor had to do it "in his gym" because of all the comps getting cancelled at the time. But every plate was weighed live, a real and respected official judged the lift, the number of attempts and time between rest were exactly what's allowed, and it was broadcasted on ESPN, what more do you want?

We understand this is the standard measure and should be used. For many, including myself, Thor used the social restricting conditions of Covid to create the most friendly environment for himself. We want to see records set in like-for-like, industry standard conditions. This was not that. Having said that, I do think Thor can do it... but i need to see it under the conditions I mentioned. :)
Who cares? Its like winning a football match by 1 goal or 5. 3 points are still 3 points and Thor beat eddie at strongman and in boxing proving hes the superior athlete. Simple as that.

I can't stop watching eddies 472.5kg and Thor's 480kg the fact that he did that with no suit comfortably. and that Eddie hall did that for a near speed rep after 5 events at WSM
I know these two hate each others guts but there will come a day they will realise that without the other they would not have found the motivation to perform these feats
Eddie did it for the sport, Hafthor did it to get back at Eddie. Eddie won WSM 2017 in front of Hafthor and Hafthor has been pissed at Eddie since then.
Big difference between breaking a WR at the Olympics vs a track meet at home. Every athlete knows this. Eddie did it under the extremely high pressured conditions.
