Blaine Sumner's 425kg benchpress has too much range of motion
😂😂😂😂😂
So cooked he legit shifts it towards his belly then away again 😂
his ass got off of the bench as well lmfao
But still bro even holding onto that much weight on your chest can crush your joints
Yeah, he dropped that bar, maximum depth, so superb, 3 inch drop and lift, what a lift.
505kg squat!!! That was insane. It doesn't matter that it was equipped. That was absolutely insane.
Just putting 505kg on your back sounds impossible, imagine doing a squat with it! 🤯
@@powerlifting-world Yeah like holy crap, half a ton on your back... sounds painful ashell
Half a ton sounds even greater
I still can't believe the absolute dominance by Jesus Olivares. He totaled 1,152.5kg Raw while only 24 years old. I'm also super impressed with Mahailya Reeves who did the heaviest raw bench in the IPF at only 18 years old. Seeing records in this video done by Juniors or those born a Gen Z tells us how strong powerlifters are gonna get in the coming years, especially Jesus. Awesome compilation. I'm glad you showed Bonica Brown's 289 kilogram squat.
Thank you
The future of powerlifting is looking BRIGHT! 🌎🚀
How come 410 is a WR? Like come on, we've seen multiple men lift more and way more. PL is such a joke
@@loluskekuswr in the ipf, in raw, ofc strongmen is doing more bc of the suit and the straps.
@@Hugo-li2uo There are raw DLs more than 410. Not in IPF, but who cares. These multiple federations with their """""wr""""" are another reason why PL is such a joke
@@loluskekus IPF lifters are drug tested and use stiff bars. Athletes in WRPF are untested and use deadlift bars that's where most deadlifts over 400 happened
A raw bench press of 300 kg is beyond impressive to me 🙌
Yeah there’s only like 15-20 people who’ve done it, almost as many as have done 1000lbs deadlift
it is an honor to work with some of these lifters. ill never forget these moments
thanks for the work you do! 🤝🏼
Im not against sumo, but i think sumo should be its own lift. Should be the deadlift records and then sumo deadlift records.
So why isnt everyone using sumo then, if its easier ? Its not. It depends what fit better to you. So that is all fine.
@@dosenbrotimtetrapac no one says it's easier, technically it's a much harder lift to learn, but it absolutely gives an advantage over conventional for basically anyone except SHWs. Nearly every record is sumo, and often those that aren't are superceded by heavier sumo pulls in lighter weight classes
There's a reason only two guys have pulled 500+ conventional, and they were both around 200kg bodyweight and used suits, while I think by now 3 or 4 sumo pullers have hit 500+, one without even using a belt, all around 100-110kg bodyweight
@@dosenbrotimtetrapacSumo cuts the range of motion. Cutting the range of motion makes it objectively easier. I don’t get why this is even a debate
@@forces2430 its a Debate because not every powerlifter is Lifting sumo, so if its such a huge difference like everyone is saying, every powerlifter will use in competition, but they dont. Its more technically but if it Allows you to lift like that much more as everyone is saying, then there will be no one saying "im not gonna learn the technic". So it migbt just be a really really small difference.
@@dosenbrotimtetrapac lol wut
505kg squat , considering what 500kg deadlift is, is just absolutly menthal!
great video bro, we need more of these
Thank you!

i'm a fan of powerlifting but i think it should have much stricter rules regarding form.
lol see my comment
for real, never seen a stance as wide as some of these. I cannot compete AT ALL but, come on.
i want to see whats the most someone can squat ass to grass, not femurs parallel
@@daishin8492 eddy hall has correct form
@@edgerat all of their stances were the same, barely past the rings. if you know literally anything about deadlifting you would know that's not very wide at all. they picked up the weight and locked it out, that's all that matters.
Did the bar even move vertically at all on Blaine Sumner's 425.5kg Bench?
That's allowed in equipped
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. There is no situation where I will be impressed by a sumo deadlift.
Dont worry, no ones is trying to impress you
Same. Ignore the clown above me
I’ll be impressed by a sumo deadlift but I won’t compare it to a conventional deadlift
It’s like 18 inch deadlifts in strongman, they’re impressive but not the same lift and only an idiot would compare them
that 425 kg bench press was the worst ive seen.
post your bench
@@loganfignewton i tried to post it but the file was too heavy. still.. thats the worst 425kgs ive seen. id rather see people do 20lbs with full arm and elbow movement. this one was like , i dont know more like a bench shrug.
@@azim7777bodied the clown.
Picking up hundreds of kilos is impressive, but the range of motion of some people's sumo deadlift is very short compared to conventional.
3:30 most athletic powerlifter I have ever seen. The 258.5 kg into a backflip? WTF
Sumo definitely needs to be classified separately from conventional
The guy at 8:50 barely moved tbh lol
Olivares and Williams are like real-life hulks.
Surprised that the 425kg singleply bench press was given despite his butt visibly off the bench
I waited for vlad and zahirs squats to be honest. I remember when i saw those lifts first time, it was blowing my mind.
대박❤
Love Rays 490kg wr, looked easy! What is the record for a full squat? 450?😮😮😮
👏
Jonnh HAACK.
IL PIU FORTE DI TUTTI I TEMPI
MENO 90KG. 1020KG. RAW
This is IPF records
damn jesus looked like he had 430 in him that day!
now we need an untested one
3:44 Roderick Strong's theme song
Benni magnusson's deadlift ?
testosterone levels on this video are over 9000
Bro dabbed
Karlos Nassar 223kg new wr!!
this is powerlifting not weightlifting
The movement 4:25 .. that record could be easily taken by. Bhaskar Shah Indian hulk
How about cenk kocak he deadlift 430 kq
será que a barra era nova ou velha? vai que quebra
I only watched the squats.
that 425 benchpress is scuffed tbh, insane power, but still scuffed
Care to explain
you need tremendous power to hold 425 kg thats given, but he didn't bench that weight the least bit. widest grip possible and pretty much arched his torso to right below the bar, then unracked and racked it back barely moving it.
Now although they gave it to him, i believe the rules have changed after and are more strict now against shinanigans like that@@tylerfabish5578
ass off the bench and sus lockout imo@@tylerfabish5578
Is that Johnny Walker from the UFC at 5:09 ? Looks just like him.
I never knew that splits were aloud when doing deadlifts
No Nonso Chinye? -120kg 313kg SJr Squat, 363 SJr Deadlift or 868.5 Total
9.04 no way
Praise the LORD for creating strong leg muscles like sauropod leg muscles.
tran tuan hien
🤝
1:05 he moved the bar like 3 inches!!!!
Check out Willis from Canada..
These athletes deserve respect
Jesús olivares has to go strongman
UFC's Johnny Walker @ 5:08
3 red lights for all the sumo's
Everyone's on steroids ~ Diaz
Is this where cleaner Anatoly competes?
surprised no austin perkins performance
And no Rondel Hunte
Big rays feet😂
I never seen anybody in that video pull more weight off the floor than Eddie Hall.
You are comparing raw with fully equipped. Eddie would struggle to get 400 without straps
what does he call him cali?
Not taking anything from these lifts, as they all lift more than me. But I wonder how much more you can sumo lift, Ive never tried it.
Great stuff, but saying someone is strongest man on Earth base don squat only is far from OK. Strongest squatter for sure, which is already super impressive.
Well, if you refer about Jesus Olivares deadlift that day he totaled the highest total in IPF history
This was hard to read.
@@powerlifting-world until he wins world strongest man, hes not the strongest
Jesus did the highest raw total (knee sleeves only) In history, which also means he lifted more than some untested powerlifters like Bell and Thor... and he is only 25 yo
As a strongman and strongman fan, I'm fine with those in powerlifting circles calling Jesus the strongman man. In context it's fine
Only Jesus can do the impossible, bravo Jesus, bravo, same names of both the strongest men in Heaven and on earth.
Sumo is a BS lift. It's like the bench presses where they arch their back until range of motion is 2 inches. Thomas Davis did it right. Actual full range of motion.
when you realize sumo is a more technical lift and utilizes different muscles
Agree. Sumo u lift like half and arched back bench is also cheating. It'd be way more impressive to hit those weights w proper form. Jamal browner proved that when he struggled to get 430 instead of 500 like he's known for.
@@Anglo-Saxon4231 idk when sumo haters will understand the mechanics of the lift at all. sumo range of motion under ipf rules barely cuts down range of motion and is in fact harder off the floor. plenty of people stronger conventional
Am I the only who thought Eddie's HALF TON deadlift will get HONOURABLE MENTIONS
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
not powerlifting
Lmfao not powerlifting that’s strong man
And no one from powerlifting will do a proper deadlift of 500kg. At least not with the legs spread like Grand Canyon. 😂😂
@@danielbogos263you sound like no matter what you do you will be weaker than women in the 47kg division. Even if you use a forklift it won’t help
@@fjalkinge if you think I am weaker then 47 kg category🤣🤣ha. whatever you trying to say your comment is confusing. To sum up, if you like that kind of deadlift, you go ahead and watch. Free world. I express my opinion. Objectively it looks ugly and cheating but if you think otherwise....fine🤣 not gonna debate your preferences.
bro at 8:59 you can see his butt is off the bench
I’m sorry but not showing Julius Maddox and Vlad Alhazov in a compilation like this is crime…
what kind of humans just i witnessed
idc about the ROM, just being able to hold 400kg in the bench is mostruous
Ппц на жиме судейство, отрыв таза везде!
4:58 his butt definitely came up no offense those judges definitely gave that to him over favortism or lack of not seeing it
Big fan of Thomas Davis but yeah, by powerlifting rules that should have been given reds
Gear
Blaines lift is sketchy but he benefits because he has short arms
He didnt even bench that record he cheated not all the way down to chest
Gotta love the English-speaking commentators who think that all names written in Latins are pronounced in English. "Joe-hanson", loool
cry
We counting sumo deadlifts as world record's now?
always have been
Seen Ryan Kennelly do a fast 2 rep bench with 600lbs with a tshirt. Looked like nothing.
When i thought my 200kg squat is impressive 😅😂.
8:35 - I call bs. That is not a credible lift.
People crying about Sumo don't understand powerlifting
Sumo is cheating minimal rom
Only IPF clips….
Ray Williams and Blaine Sumner squats are not in IPF competitions for example.
We selected clips from drug-tested federations 🙌
Сумо это как тяга с колен,надо ее в отдельный вид вывести с полной класической тягой на силу ничего общего
Sumo should be eliminated from acceptable form. It is a significant advantage in leverage and also minimizes the range of motion significantly. Both resulting in a much easier and heavier lift without the as much natural strength. Truly disappointing to see it so widely accepted.
What really matters in 1RM attempts is maximum force production, which is sustainable for ~30 seconds.
So Range Of Motion isn't as relevant as you'd think in these cases 🙌
Stay strong!
@@powerlifting-world Thanks for some clarification. I don’t personally agree that this is still acceptable… but I can see now how there is somewhat of an argument for it. Cheers!
Not always….there are plenty of lifters, usually those with short torsos and relatively long arms, who can deadlift more than those using the sumo style. If I’m not mistaken many of the deadlift records were done in conventional style.
@@brianrihlmann6054 the vast majority of records are done sumo, and in some classes where the record was set with a conventional deadlift, they are superceded by a sumo record in a lighter weight class
@@powerlifting-world work done is force*distance, more rom means more work required, so yes, it is relevant
Also, if the way force is applied maximally was the same across the entire lift, and people can sustain it for ~30s, anyone who could break the floor should be able to finish the lift, yet we constantly see people failing deadlifts after breaking the floor (also bench and squat halfway to lockout)
Blaine's bench is no lift
Nd u'r not the judge don't judge him bruhh
These are not must watch 😢
Sumo just doesn’t seem as impressive as a normal deadlift. However, still impressive weight
wait BITELO is coming.
None of the lighter weight classes were worth watching and the only equipped lifting worth watching is deadlift and single ply squat
The only lighter weight class competitor worth watching is the goat John haack
Sumo deadlift should not be accepted.
8:57 Under modern IPF regulations this lift is nowhere close to qualifying. Absolutely pathetic that this sort of form was ever allowed.
Hey, uhh...Is Amanda Lawrence single tho?
Blaine Sumner - 505 кг.. четко, с полным контролем веса, с паузой - просто невероятно! Это было реально мощно!
I can feel the steroids oozing through the screen.😂😂😂
its heavy af , but the biggest guys , move the weight such a short distance it dosent look legit
Some lifts are really cool, but can't stand the call 4 foot guy with a rom of 1 inch pulling sumo. It is so unmanly, i can't be hyped to it even if it more then i will ever lift. Something about it is not appealing.
💪🙏👍❤🇺🇦
Typical IPF spotters - LOL
Sumo deadlift is no deadlift... COME ON GUYS..
You compete or are you a coach? If neither your opinion doesn't matter
@@vernevaanhe clearly struggles with his weights in deadlift less than double body weight. Anyone who has done deadlift in the IPF with a real powerbar knows how hard it is no matter what technique you use. Typical comment from degenerates in or who watch bogus feds and strongman allow hitching and deadlift bars
Does anyone care about equipped lifting or dumb-o deadlift records?
Many people care! 🙌
Do you realize that lifting Equipped is a little more difficult than liftin raw? Sumo deadlifts are here to stay, unless the rules committee changes it. It is still impressive to be able to stand up with that weight in your hands
@Slvrdrgn77d sure it's impressive but there's no context to say to what extent it is impressive. There's a reason all the light guys used sumo. It's easier. Saying equipped lifting is harder than raw is nonsensical. The equipped bench record is 100s of pounds more than the raw record.
@@mitchellsteindler go ahead and try it, let us know if you think sumo is easier then conventional. Equipped lifting requires different techniques, its tempo going down and explode up.
@Slvrdrgn77d I'm not going to spend my time training something I have no interest in and see no benefit in doing. Why didn't all the sumo world records just lift conventionally of sumo isn't easier? Please stop talking to me about equipped lifting. They may as well use a damn forklift and say they're lifting it because their hand is on the control lever.
