Hello! It won’t be a problem at all. I have a few visible arm tattoos and work in a pretty formal workplace and it has never been discussed. Plus, all interviewing is still happening virtually - so they won’t know you have tattoos until after you get the job :D
Hello! I have my Master's in Public Administration, where we got extensive training on getting government jobs. I have been working in the public sector for almost seven years, plus a year as a summer student. I've worked for the NS government (summer student), for the Ontario Ministry of Health, for a few different agencies in New Zealand and I currently work for the House of Commons. Hope this helps!
@@fedjobscanada9909 starting as a student is one of the best work opportunity that someone could have. On top that you can be paid (depending on your level of study) a lot higher than your friends who might have a mcjob for a salary close to the minimum wage. Just to give people an idea, in 2019 I hired a student who was doing his baccalaureate degree. He got a decent pay according to his studies. He finished his degree in Dec. 2019. In Jan 2020 he was offered a 90 days contract, then in June that same year he was offered a one year contract as a CO-01. His contract has recently been prolonged and he is now doing a short-term acting as a CO-02. Oh la la, when I was at university I wished I had applied to those gvt jobs stands when they came... But I didn't cause when I grew up, in my family it was bad seen to work for the gvt. My parents had comments such as "when you work for the gvt you work twice the job, yours and the one of your coworker who don't do anything" or something like: "when you work for the gvt you finish at 3 but you are home at 2h30"... Well nothing to encourage me to work for them... I wished I hadn't listened to them... Maybe talking about PFETE and COOP program as well as 90 days contract in your videos might be a good option?
Hi. I would soon be migrating to Alberta through PNP immigration program. Could you pls suggest some options for new immigrants as to how to go about with applying and procuring jobs before one lands to canada or after . Have experience in banking field in my home home country. Really interested in applying for library jobs and such other options.. eagerly waiting....
Hello, welcome to Canada! I am originally from Alberta, so I hope you enjoy it. Getting a job before landing can be challenging, some places screen for addresses in Canada. But if you do apply before arriving, make sure to write in your cover letter that you are migrating through the PNP program - because that tells employers that you have a visa that allows you to work and that you will be arriving soon! For library jobs, I would suggest looking up jobs with the city government you are going to live with because that is a municipal responsibility. Good luck!
I want a government job now! Love the video. Also, nice setup!
I have hand / finger tattoos. Located in Toronto. Is that ok for some government jobs? I know some people don't like to hire heavily inked men?

Is it possible to know your background? For exemple how long have you been for the gvt and how many jobs have you done for them?
