Man this is a super informative video, but I believe it would be better for all of us if you make 2 separate videos with one completely in English, and one in your language. I'm from eastern Europe and sometimes it's even hard to understand whether you've already switched to Eng or you're still talking in your language and vice versa. Thanks one more time

I have been trying to move to Canada and I am actually waiting for my PR and after watching your video I decided to go for IFC exam and cleared it. Timeline of my IFC exam is as follows 25th Oct 2021 :- enrolled for the exam 26th Nov 2021:- finished the syllabus 02nd Dec 2021 :- completed the exam Scored 89 percentage, attended the exam via remote proctoring.

To be recognized internationally as a trader officer, an International trade-related certificate is available called Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS). So if I have to apply for a trade officer job in Canada, what certificates are required besides CDCS?

Hi Neha! Insurance usually is commission based. IFC will lead you to a retail bank's advisor's job. While there are some jobs in bank which specialize in insurance but most people I know are the ones who took up those jobs after being an advisor. So basically if you want flexibility of time and salary, take up LLQP. if you want brnach banking salaried job, take IFC which will give you mutual funds License. Hope this helps... take care

IFC and CSC are the bare min requirements if you want to get into the "advisory" side of bank. I made below mentioned video about the roles/certifications/salary in banking roles. Hi Prashant! thanks for writing in. Let me be frank with you, CSI certification is a bare min requirement if you want to be an advisor in a retail bank. You can check it in any bank's JD. So, doing that can give you an edge in the application but its no guarantee as you can understand. As far as applying from India is concerned, I tried a lot but didnt work for me and almost all my friends without a work permit/PR. Hope I was able to answer your question. Stay safe!

Hey! thanks for writing in. I think you have 2 basic questions: a) Should you do it from India: Well you can however, I think you should wait because of 2 reasons: firstly, this course is valid for 3 years and with covid situation right now, its better to wait and not kill into your 3 yrs validity period. secondly, you require a Canadian address where they will send you all your details. You can't order the physical book and you will have to study online. Exam is remotely protocoled hence shouldn't be a problem Moreover, you will get a good amount of time once you come here to do it since you will be in quarantine and it takes some time to settle here. Wont take you long to finish. I am still not settled and looking for something :-) b) Online/Physical exam: It makes no difference. IFC or CSC are basic courses to start your basic retail banking career in Canada. Actually, you didn't do it at all because if bank selects you, they will ask you to complete in order for you to sell investment products (which you cant sell without a licence). So, I did this course in order to strengthen the CV. Hope it helped :-) Do let me know if you have any other query. Let me try and answer by saying that I studied the text book twice, solved all the sectional online interactive quizzes 2-3 times, solved all online multiple choice questions (after each chapter) and read through all FAQs. It took me 26 days to do all this. Studied for about 3-4 hours a day and got 85/100 on the exam. So basically the material was sufficient. @@Beauty5641 Hey! I would say that if you have read the text book and have done the quizzes, questions and FAQ after each chapter.. you should sail through. Honestly, i didnt find the exam very tricky.. maybe 15-20 questions were a bit tricky, rest were quite ok for me. How I approached the exam was - I read the theory chapters (first few and last few chapters) in the end and before the exam as I was faltering in the sectionals quizzes on them. quizzes are a good indicator of your preparation. Please let me know if you want to know anything else. Happy to help!! :)

IFC and CSC are the bare min requirements if you want to get into the "advisory" side of bank. I made below mentioned video about the roles/certifications/salary in banking roles. Do check that out... you will get a good prospective.

Hi Prashant! thanks for writing in. Let me be frank with you, CSI certification is a bare min requirement if you want to be an advisor in a retail bank. You can check it in any bank's JD. So, doing that can give you an edge in the application but its no guarantee as you can understand. As far as applying from India is concerned, I tried a lot but didnt work for me and almost all my friends without a work permit/PR. Hope I was able to answer your question. Stay safe!

Thank you for sharing this. I would be landing in BC vancouver with family. I am planning to do the course from here (India) only before coming. Can I give the exam as well from here? Will that online exam’s weightage in my CV would be as good as the physical one? Or shall I wait to land there and give the exam.
Hey! thanks for writing in. I think you have 2 basic questions:
a) Should you do it from India: Well you can however, I think you should wait because of 2 reasons: firstly, this course is valid for 3 years and with covid situation right now, its better to wait and not kill into your 3 yrs validity period. secondly, you require a Canadian address where they will send you all your details. You can't order the physical book and you will have to study online. Exam is remotely protocoled hence shouldn't be a problem
Moreover, you will get a good amount of time once you come here to do it since you will be in quarantine and it takes some time to settle here. Wont take you long to finish. I am still not settled and looking for something :-)
b) Online/Physical exam: It makes no difference. IFC or CSC are basic courses to start your basic retail banking career in Canada. Actually, you didn't do it at all because if bank selects you, they will ask you to complete in order for you to sell investment products (which you cant sell without a licence). So, I did this course in order to strengthen the CV.

Let me try and answer by saying that I studied the text book twice, solved all the sectional online interactive quizzes 2-3 times, solved all online multiple choice questions (after each chapter) and read through all FAQs. It took me 26 days to do all this. Studied for about 3-4 hours a day and got 85/100 on the exam. So basically the material was sufficient. Hope I was able to answer!! feel free to ask anything specific. Take care and stay safe :-)

@@Beauty5641 Hey! I would say that if you have read the text book and have done the quizzes, questions and FAQ after each chapter.. you should sail through. Honestly, i didnt find the exam very tricky.. maybe 15-20 questions were a bit tricky, rest were quite ok for me. How I approached the exam was - I read the theory chapters (first few and last few chapters) in the end and before the exam as I was faltering in the sectionals quizzes on them. quizzes are a good indicator of your preparation. Please let me know if you want to know anything else. Happy to help!! :)
@@TurbanTripper okay Thank you for the tips. For the exam would you say the questions were more definition-based or more related to specific scenarios? Any specific section you think I should look more into before my exam?
@@Beauty5641 I think they were a mix i would say... Well I would say that you should learn last section and first section of the book for theory questions because if you remember them, then you get answers immediately as you see the question and move on to the next question quickly
