Oh that's a stunning aquarium. You're getting close to "dream aquarium" territory with this one. I can only hope, I can have that nice of a large planted tank one day. Stunning! It's also lovely to see when an aquarium is automated. It can be costly, but the stability and reduced physical maintenance is amazing. Especially when you're looking at larger aquariums, sensitive inhabitants, and a higher overall costs. I personally run auto-water change and an ATO, and it's a game changer in how I enjoy the hobby, as I really hate water changes and regularly forget to do them.
I used to have a 300 litre tank with seven - second-generation Wattleys, but as you said, that wasn't big enough. They would always fight the weakest one so that he got stressed out and eventually died. It's almost like they took turns to die, very discouraging. But I also made a big beginner's mistake by putting the tank across from a big window, which probably added to their stress. Next time I know to go bigger on the tank and not to put it across from a window. Your tank is absolutely beautiful and so are your fish. Thanks so much for sharing!
I’m from Puerto Rico and by far this has been the most beautiful tank I’ve seen. I was wondering if you have a video that shows how you design it from start to finish.
I finally found a fellow fishlover that filtrates like me- My 675 liter custom ordered aquarium has Eheim classic xxl, fone sponge, than only biolocial all the way, then I have 2 Fx6 filyers, but not setup at all as you get them.! I want to keep wild discus in there, but I want tochnage to a 200 liter sump, with maybe 140 liter that is active. And the filtration I have on now, people call me insane. O would like more. I also have pothos, a huge peace lilly and kaladium plant growing with the roots in the water! Nice to meet you, Hahaha
Aah, this is such an aspirational aquarium! I kind of don't want to do the work but if I ever decide I'm up for it, I think discus are absolutely gorgeous and I already have neon tetras and corys because they're my favorite (though I have 9 and 4, I'd love to have 50 and 15)!
That's one amazing discus tank. As someone that has kept both wild discus and tank bred discus then I would just disagree with him on the tank size minimum except if it is about for 10 wild discus. You can have smaller tank (200-300 litre) but of course fewer discus like 5-6 and not many other fishes.
thật đẹp ❤ so beautiful fish ❤ i really like your video btother ❤ thank you for sharing video , i really love fishs ❤❤ have a nice day for you brother ❤❤❤
How amazing is this tank ?! But the work behind it terrifies me. I'd love to have some more details and i'm very curious on the auto waterchanges system
I really like your tank its beautiful. Im in procces to seting up new tank for new discusses over 500 L. Hello. Can you tell me what kind driftwood are you used for this setup? And what long did you curred (soaked or boiled etc) driftwood before putting in the tank?
Hello I always have one question on keeping discus with plants. Discus need water bit higher compared to what plants prefer. Plants need cooler water while discus will struggle in cooler water...how do you manage this if you can suggest Thanks
I've got a 680 litre discus planted aquarium at home. I think the most challenging part of keeping discus with plants is the temperature but also needing to keep your Nitrate low which doesn't benefit the plants. I've also learnt that having a big aquarium you should keep your waterchanges less than 50% because it stabilises the eco system. A lot of the discus owners on the old forums say to do 80% waterchanges but I would highly recommend not doing that unless you got some water that's been adjusted to your aquarium like Kire. I think keeping Discus is beautiful and fun but it should be avoided if you want to grow a crazy planted tank.
if i used ada amazonia for more then a year and wish to reuse it with pond compost under it...will it still supply the nutrients?or isit totaly a bad idea?
I do feed them 6-7 times a day, as these guys are really greedy so I need to make sure that he higher hierarchy is well feed so the rest of the fish can eat
I keep 8 stendker in 350 liter and i had issues but so far so good knock on wood. Didn't lose anyone. 2 time a week water change 30/50%. One didn't grow as much as I would like but definitely doable. But these are wild and i can understand water changes every day. Chack my channel to see them.

The colors on those discus are incredible, and the scape complements them well. Expertly captured, as well, MJ. Thank you for the tour.
Amazing how many times I’ve watched this video. It’s the reason I have Discus now, love it. Would be good to see it revisited.
saw the aquarium in real life last weekend and indeed what a beautiful discus and aquascape! 👍🤩👍
Wow. Just STUNNING! Breathtaking.
He's got the same light as your big shallow! His first time with Discus and he already sounds like a pro with one of my favorite kind!
Thanks Iron, indeed I did lots of reading (basically all available Discus books out there and most of the forums) and lots of learning

Beautiful! Fun to watch on a large screen monitor 🙂

It really is!
one of the most beautiful tanks I have ever seen

Soo beautiful. What a zen experience looking this ❤️ Great learning too, thank you 👍

Thansk Dadi! :) I agree with the group size - but in a long run that means more aggression and problems :)
Fantastic discus and aquarium. Would you be able to share what equipment you use to do the automated water changes please
beautiful tank and fish! well done
Beautiful Discus and setup. Thanks for sharing 😍🔥😍🔥
thật đẹp ❤ so beautiful fish ❤ i really like your video btother ❤ thank you for sharing video , i really love fishs ❤❤ have a nice day for you brother ❤❤❤

How amazing is this tank ?! But the work behind it terrifies me. I'd love to have some more details and i'm very curious on the auto waterchanges system
Hey David, feel free to follow muy accoints and you will get all your answers answered :D
Awesome scape! Beautiful aquarium.
Absolutely a lovely tank love wilds!!!!
Amazing tank and vid. What is the large leaf plant growing out of the water in the centre of the tank?
Hello Alastair, I think Echinodorus Argentinensis or E.Cordifolius, both grow out of your tank and make emerse leaves..
Muy bonitos todo el acuario peces y plantas increíble, felicidades,te recomiendo santaren discos , para comprar discos Salvajes 👍
Hello, my friend! You have a wonderful aquarium!
What kind of driftwood is that and where did you find it? I'm having such a hard time finding driftwood that looks similar to this
Awesome!! I like that you showcase some local scapes:)
Glad you liked it!
Wow, you definitely have done something beautiful there.
I didn't do anything 😁 I just captured somebody else his work 😁
@@MJAquascaping You both did a great job 😎
Outstanding
Big stress for discus..
With camera ..
Good tank.
Very beautifull
And so wild.
👌👍
Amazing Tank
Very nice fish and set up.
So beautiful, but expensive to keep in the way they deserve. I'll have to be content to enjoy vicariously through others. :)
Great episode, brother! Sexy tank. Best discus tank I've probably ever seen. Great looking discus fish
Thanks Robert
@@aquascapingtheworld I mean it. Just gave you a sub. can't wait to check out your channel. Be good

I really like your tank its beautiful. Im in procces to seting up new tank for new discusses over 500 L.
Hello. Can you tell me what kind driftwood are you used for this setup?
And what long did you curred (soaked or boiled etc) driftwood before putting in the tank?
I am super curious. What was the total setup cost and what is the monthly operating cost?

What diet for planted discus tank
Loveeeeeee your videos!
I miss my discus. Peace from the UK.
Beautiful tank 🫶🐠
What does he give them for food?
como logras que la arena blanca no se llene de algas y se ponga marron?

if i used ada amazonia for more then a year and wish to reuse it with pond compost under it...will it still supply the nutrients?or isit totaly a bad idea?
Yeah can work!
Fantastic!! So beautiful!!
Gorgeous tank but out of the original bunch how many died in the beginning?
Magnificent
Hi i m from India 🇮🇳...which light u use in this beautiful tank ❤❤
Very nice. At which temperature you keep your wild Discus?
28 degrees Celsius
Beautiful discuss tank 👍🏻
i love discus u gotta make a discus tank man. but its gotta be big
Beautiful discus 😙👌🏼
They are!
Do you use RO or tap?
Does anyone know if he uses c02 in this tank?
Way too much work for me, but great job sir. Stunning aquarium.
How many gallon is this tank?
Wao 😍
Are those discus from Brazil
At 5,25 Kire tells he feeds them 6 to 7 times a day?, I think he means a week ?? Beautifull tank mister ,very well done
I'm pretty sure it's daily, but very small amounts 😊
@@MJAquascaping Thats a lot of work and explains the dayly waterchanges , still a holy grail it is .
He uses an auto feeder
I do feed them 6-7 times a day, as these guys are really greedy so I need to make sure that he higher hierarchy is well feed so the rest of the fish can eat
@@aquascapingtheworld ok I understand, great job your doing, the whole looks amazing.
Those fishes live like Kings.
was sind das für Diskus?
being an aquascape tank, you forgot the most important topic which is about plants! You should've covered something about plants
Wow small for being over a year old, my 6 month old's are this big.
Not worth the effort for me, but the scape is nice☺️
They look a bit slim. I think they lack food/ get too much dry food/ only 1 time a day food
With discus your water has to be super healthy and controlled ..they're so fragile..
То братко
Discus are a bunch of bully but they are beautiful.
Feeding 6-7 times a day is 3 water changes a day??? IK call BS!!!
This is too much for me.
You must have spent a pretty penny on that tank. Right?
Yoy are not from Macedonia, you are from North Macedonia. Do you think that "North" is a detail and you could skip it?
Flow is fine for discus. Research the rivers they are seen in
