Hey George, thanks for visiting our discus Farm! Our new discus breeding room was put into operation a few months ago and we now have even more discus fish to show 👍 We hope that you can come visit us again soon🙏🤝
Discus fish feeded with beef heart are living normal, because it is not only with beef - we did mixure for them spinach, sea fish, salmon, Artemia, shrimps, garlic .... for many decades ....@@JosephKarthic
What I like the breeding here is that the facility is so CLEAN. That makes the fish so healthy also. The whole house has a positive vibes most especially with the bonsais on it.. I love it!
Im from malaysia and my late uncle used to breed discus in his home as a hobby. He showed me old photos of his pairs. Probably 25-30 years ago? I was already interested in fish keeping before but he made me even more interested when he would bring me to one of the biggest fresh and marine ornamental fish breeder and import/exporter in KL. Every week he would bring me there once after school. He started keeping discus again but not breeding them. Just a display tank. Also kept rams and stuff. Then he got sick and had to get rid of all his tanks and fish then he passed.
I saw Corey from Aquarium Coop tour this facility with the new breeding room but your video is so cool. I love bonsai and the whole tour that you give!
7:21 ❤❤❤❤❤ the best part so far when Rudy says I'm there Papa and taps😊 the glass. Every fish keeper ever, !!!! most likely they're hungry but I'm sure there's some kind of attraction to the person feeding them
How did I miss this, thank goodness it showed up on my home page. Because of Rudy's ability to create these incredible colors, the discus has become my favorite, it's mind blowing how gorgeous they are. Beautiful bonsai's as well, and again amazing that Rudy manicures them himself. This is a tour I won't forget! Thank you George, Rudy and Andreas for taking us along it was spectacular. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🎄🎉🕊
@@S.Trades This must be synchronicity, an aquarium is being built in Michigan by Brian and Lori Barczyk, Brian sadly passed several months ago, but Lori is carrying forward this monumental dream in his memory. I left a comment on their UA-cam channel because Lori mentioned that Discus fish were her favorite and she pointed to one of the tanks this would be filled with them. I remember George from Coral Fish, his trip to Germany and meeting you and your fabulous collection. Really hoping you two connect somehow, I told her you had every color possible, and recommended she go and watch George’s trip. This is wild, lol.🐠💕👍
for all viewers info, the name Spider Face (w/o the web) was coined by the late Lee Koon Yen (he passed away due to cancer). He was arguably one of the top spotted discus breeder in Malaysia back in the early 2000. It so happened that I was visiting his farm and saw a few batch of high grade Leopard Snakeskin with fine spotting on the cheek area. He called it Spider face. I thought it was weird but the name somehow stuck ... lol. For 4.5 inch , he was selling for USD100 per fish but it was heavily treated with hormone. Just a fun fact, Mr.Lee paid USD7500 for a batch of young Golden Albino discus fr HK and he recouped his investment soon after as Albino became a hot ticket item
These guys are living my dream. It would be a dream come true to be able to run a discus breeding business like this. These gentlemen are extremely knowledgeable. Thank you George for posting this video. It has really inspired me. Alas, I’m just one of the small guys with only one tank and 7 discus
My favorites are at 3:46. Interesting to learn that while other of George's episodes emphasize beautiful natural color variations, here they are man-bred.
Hands down these are my favorite variety of fish. I used to raise them quite successfully. I was horrible with a regular community tank but was always able to maintain a discus tank
Hello Sr, I have been a huge fan of your videos and even tho I left the hobby a few years ago Im exited to tell you that Ill start saving money to buy one of your aquarium set-ups. Im taking a little bit of time to get the money, space and more importantly the knowledge necessary to keep a salt water aquarium. You are doing great man!
Wow absolutely stunning Discus, set ups, bonsai and property wow! 🤩❤❤ Europa are definitely living the dream in Germany 👊😊 I am also now considering ordering some of these beautiful and super healthy Discus (online) for my new set up in the UK after 10yrs since I could keep some again... Can't wait to get some discus in my new set up it's been a long time coming! They're such incredible fish 🤩 kept fish over 20yrs and Discus in the past and plan to keep again and hopefully breed too if all goes well 🤞😬🐠❤️ Awesome video thanks for sharing with us and literally as i decide where to get my new fish from this is a perfect sneak peek into where is available to source from as a super passionate aquarist also 😬 keep up the great work, great content and asked all the right questions very informative the guys are aweosme and super good to see their passion and commitment to their superb quality Discus ❤️❤❤
I was big in the hobby decades ago. Me and friends made a trip out to the largest Salt water aquarium out on long island NY once a week and I have fond memories. I kept mainly saltwater and was very succesfull and I never tried discus from reading how hard they are to keep.
Dear I hv 80 glow tetra and 20 tiger barbs in 80 gal tank with 10 gal sump filter total 90 gal tank. Can I add discus in same tank with Glow Tetra and Tiger barbs
Discus are my favorite and it's my dream to own a bunch of them. This video was so good! Hope I get to visit this spot one day - maybe even purchase some discus from them. 😊
Theirs discus are soo beautiful. I always though that beef heart was the best food for discus but it's not ,merci for letting people known this. Don't miss their bonsai collection.
Bro, I'm Indian from Bengaluru City. I love your videos. I appreciate your efforts and aquarium videos you do. The quality of your videos superb i have never seen this kind of aquarium content videos in my life. Love you a lot 💕 bro. I want to meet you atleast once in my lifetime ❤.
That is a nice fish where it come from? Oh didn't expect it to come from my country LOL. That make more sense why they got of variety sometimes at my local aquarium shop.😅
Bro I was your age now when I first started watching your videos. I haven't kept any reef tanks for years now cuz of other life priorities but I still remember the vanilla ice intro lmaooooo. Crazy to see you grew up and how far you've come come. Congratz on your success!
For breeding we try to keep the pH below 6. That improves the hatching rate. After the discus are about one moth old we acclimate them to normal ph of our tap water of around 7-8pH
My favorite fish. I have read books on them, and they were difficult to breed, and then it was discovered that it needed a special moss in the water that created a certain ph. That is what the book said on Discus Fish.
I would love to either be able to order the foods shown or get the recipe to make them. Same for the tank setups. I've struggled keeping my discus alive and healthy so any improvements would be great.
I have been keeping discus successful for years, there’s obvious things like, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, should be at trace levels, to do that you need good filtration, ph, water temp keep mine at 28oC but if I have problems will put it up to 31oC, I do 40% water change a week I plumbed my tank in and automated this, but I do at what theses guys mentioned, the mains water is dechlorinated, filtered and heated, I have a planted tank so a good gravel clean is also done, I feed mine twice a day, now when it comes to feeding discus I use tetra discus granules, I get the 10l tub because it is the cheapest way to feed them, and I would recommend only feeding them this, I found that and this is the first UA-cam video that has said it that feeding them beef heart, any of the frozen foods you can get any of the live foods you can get, over a period of time cause problems, a lot of videos say feed this feed that, my advice as I have tried them all stick with the granules, only put the number of discus in your tank for your tank size, these guys have got seriously over populated tanks, but they only manage that because they have industrial scale filtration on the system which we can’t match. Medications most do more harm than good, discus are pretty robust so if you just do a water change every day and up the temperature most of the time they get better, but my go to is API Pond Melafix it works and it doesn’t kill your fish
It seems you don't know about solar in America, we tried that and the amount of scam companies vs real ones drove any solar opportunities away. 3 neighbors in my back yard have the rear of the house covered in panels, each shaded by a big tree.
Those wild ones look like a darker ombré rainbow. You don’t even need any decor w a discus. Well yea when I kept discus I always asked where in the wild are they eating beef heart?
He was building the breeding room at the time of this video. Check out the recent video by Aquarium Coop and they show the grow outs now the breeding room is complete.

Hey sexy 🥵
Hi, the discus that are fed with beef heart looks more bigger than yours, like piwowarski discus, do they really live short?
Discus fish feeded with beef heart are living normal, because it is not only with beef - we did mixure for them spinach, sea fish, salmon, Artemia, shrimps, garlic .... for many decades ....@@JosephKarthic

Discus recognize their keepers. If there were a dozen people there they'd still follow Rudy.
@@glennr9913 other fish recognize too, but maybe dont show it as these.

Hi George, nice video. Discus are My favorite fish.
Is feeding beef heart really that bad..?
This guy is the coolest !!!!!!!!!!!!! living what he loves !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he needs a few select reptiles lol !!!!!!!!!!!!
