Honestly, I feel most sorry for the brother who seems to be caught in the middle of all this with a creepy android running around pretending to be his sister.
@MC (Lei Kakichi) again, seldom is the plot twist to the entire story revealed right off the bat in the first sentence. Plenty of comments to be read that describe and discuss the plot as you’re watching it develop, without giving away the ending
I have a theory about the brother. Yes I know he isn't shown much but hear me out. The messages Liana sees is her brother trying to reprogram her so she doesn't reach 100% contamination. That explains why he's always in his room and Liana isn't aloud in. He also only talks to her during night time while Evelyn is asleep so he isn't caught trying to hint that Liana isn't human. He loves his father but the idea of trying to put a human's core inside an android is crazy. That may be a far stretch but I've been thinking about it all day.
I can see it, like when he says “She is feeding you dirt” I dont think he means literally, I believe its a subtle hint that she isn’t being straight up to her and that “She made you believe it was your favorite” is another hint that Evelyn is trying to shape Liana’s mind, both spirit and android to believe that nothing happened in order to try and get her daughter to be normal, but its by what Evelyn identifies as her daughter being “normal”
Personally I don’t really see a villain in this game. Just a family broken by the death of a child. The mother very clearly distraught and just wants to move on, not seeing a new copy of her lost daughter every week. And then the father just desperate to have his daughter alive and well again, who’s willing to do whatever it takes to bring her back (as most horror game parents do)
@@amandathepanda244 she said something like i am not your mother because she was scared of the android and tried making it go away were the villains because were the ones who took over liana playing the game
Well said. Well said! Exactly. Its a tragedy. No "villain" needed. If my daughter died I'd do anything. Kill, sacrifice, serve, give up whatever to have one more night to tuck her in at night with that smile I would never forget. Its a true tragedy.
The father killed his daughter to store her consciousness inside an android to experiment with the research he had done. That’s a literal villain right there. Liane didn’t die of natural causes, she was purposely murdered by her father.
While the father is the villain for the overarching story for all the reasons you mentioned, for the personal story of the player, The Interface, and The Core, the father ends up being a savior of sorts. The mother is afraid of the Android and mistreats it, feeding it dirt and making it sleep outside, things the brother and father find appalling, and when The Interface and The Core combine in the end, he takes them away, as they’ve likely succeeded at becoming their own person. That seems to be part of the fathers goal, telling her not to lose her head is something that could trigger a memory leak, as it is a coded warning for letting the mother remove her head, something her past selves have experienced. To his living family, the father is a villain, to the reborn, and renamed, main character he’s a hero. I guess you could call him an enigma.
the mother has to live the same week over and over again, with no help from father. she is repeatedly traumatized by father's creations and is the only one cleaning up the mess that father has made. I don't view mother as a villain; rather, she is a horrified and traumatized woman forced to relive her daughter's death again and again.
@@megsley apparently the father has a reason for the absence and its to help the ai protagonist. It is possible that the father is not the same husband she knew.
@@megsley its hard to call mother a victim when she is the one cutting the android's head off. And that is aparently not something father wants as he also tries to warn the android not to go against mother
Seems like a very interesting concept! Sad we don't see the brother and have some sort of subplot build there, but it looks like a great game nonetheless
While what the father did was very unethical, I wouldn’t say he was the villain. He thought that his daughter was going to die, so he took her consciousness. He just wanted his daughter back.
So the dad was continuing research in order to make the core come to the forefront, rather than become its own new being with the 100% contamination? Because if the core came to the forefront it would actually be Liana again?
So basically speaking. After learning Lianna had a terminal illness, any (most) parent would do anything to save their children, even though there's no hope at least buy some time to be with them so in this game, the father killed her before she died due to her illness by grabbing her consciousness and inserts it to an Android, so ye Lianna (the android version). However this takes patience as making an Android version of Lianna is a lot of work. With this in mind, the father still believe in her, despite the risks like sneaking and taking the prototypes home for an experiment. I mean this is nuts, he still wanted to be with his daughter but then again this is too much to think.
The father is a pretty interesting character, other than the villain POV mentioned in this video, you can also see the father as the only person in the family who 100% believe his daughter still in the android, the "killing" part basically is the only way to upload Liana's conscious as you can't upload any conscious when the person is dead, so by the game telling us that Liana basically have terminal illness, it hint that the father is not a vicious murderer that kill his daughter. And the fact that the father still believe Liana still in there despite many failures, I think it is pretty warm for Liana under these unsettle situation. I wonder why don't the father tell his daughter the plan before extracting her conscious so she know what's up though...
Ray Bradbury once said “We earth men have a talent for ruining big, beautiful things.” Grief doesn't appear beautiful, but in grief, you can begin to understand the true beauty of what was. And in the understanding, how to take that forward. The father closed his eyes to understanding, took the right to grief from his family and ruined a big beautiful thing.
This story reminds me of a book i read in English Literature class during the summer one year for school. Basically the protagonist was an android or something like that but she had the memories of a deceased girl, whose consciousness was saved onto a computer in the basement of the house. I believe her name was like Jenna or something like that, but i don't really rember much about it.
