Among the riding stars determined to make their mark were former 500cc World Champion Marco Lucchinelli, Isle of Man TT legend Joey Dunlop, 250cc Grand Prix racer Davide Tardozzi and many more, including Roger Burnett, Fred Merkel, Roger Marshall, Stephane Mertens and Bubba Shobert.
This action-packed highlights review brings you all the drama from both 30-lap races around the 1.96-mile Donington circuit. Each leg of the first ever World Superbike Championship event produced edge-of-the-seat racing, with passes, crashes and last lap drama. Travel on board with Burnett as he tumbles out of race one and then battles through the field in race two, watch Dunlop prove his short circuit skills and experience the thrilling dice between Italian stars Tardozzi and Lucchinelli as they go head-to-head until the dramatic final lap crash which would decide the winner.
Witness history in the making as the World Superbike Championship is born.

Yer Maun... The King !
Smooth and clean, as always.
Go Joey!
Great idea having the marshals stand at the edge between the grass and the gravel runoff - saves time tending to any accidents 😂
Outstanding time and race and bike too !!!!

This was when Kenny Roberts called it 'Stupidbike' . 🤔
Yeah he wasn’t a 4 stroke fan
@@MrAckers75 I don't think we have much choice these days now. The next issue will probably be petrol or electric 🥴👍
@@chathamabs2011 it we’ll definitely be electric unfortunately
@@MrAckers75 I do like 2 strokes though and those 500cc days, they were mad though but as you say, it's looking electric.
@@chathamabs2011 yep I went to many 500cc Grand Prix and wsbk races back in the old days and my dads friend Alan carter was the youngest 250cc Grand Prix winner.
Unless we come up with some super fuel electric is inevitable very sadly.
