- Comparing the EGO 580 CFM 168mph and the EGO 530 CFM 110 mph.
Which is better? I've not affiliated with EGO, I bought these with my own money.

Reviews leaf blowers. Blows no debris or leaves.
They were imaginary 😉
Sold! 580 it is . . . . I love the EGO range, it's so much better than the old petrol guzzlers I used to run. The blower was the last of the range to get and this was exactly what I needed to choose between the two. Good job.
Glad it was helpful, thanks for checking it out
I have an EGO mower and trimmer, and am looking to replace my corded blower. Thanks for the review. I like your neighborhood's non-wheel damaging curbs.
Glad it helped! The curbs are great, especially for you boys on their bike, scooters and such..👌
Hesitantly bought a EGO electric mower two years ago. ABSOLUTELY Love it!!!
Yep, I was the same way. Never looked back! Thanks Martian!
I don't know how you decided to test when you had no real leaf challenges.
With the comparisons I was able to do, made the decision easy without leaves.
Nice lawn, love the dog and despite watching the video with fear as I'd already purchased the 580, you didn't let me down. The switch was the main thing that swayed me, including not having to hold down the switch the whole time during use.
Thank you Simon! Zero buyers regret with this thing. The switch plus the slight delays was huge. Glad this was helpful!
Recently purchased the 530 because I'm switching over to EGO due to battery compatibility in all their tools. Currently also have a Kobalt 24v blower. The trigger delay and shutoff delay were both a bit surprising in the 530, and I'm glad you mention them here because I wasn't sure if it was a defect or not. However, with a little use, you get used to it, and it doesn't impact the blowers usefulness. The Kobalt has no such delay, and is a bit lighter due to the smaller battery, but I like the battery release on the EGO better, and also like the variable speed control on the EGO. That variable speed option definitely comes in handy when you don't want to blast something. For some reason, the EGO also seems to offer a little better control over the direction I'm blowing the grass/debris. Perhaps it has something to do with the tube design, though it doesn't look much different from the Kobalt.
For most homeowners, I think the less-expensive 530 would work quite well. Not sure if the 580 is still available, but Lowe's only had the 530 and 650 available, and the price difference was over $100. No doubt the 650 (and 580) is more powerful and perhaps a bit more convenient with its controls, but likely overkill for many. Thanks for the review.
I heard about the new, more powerfull Ego blower. I'm temped to sell this one and pick that one up. Good point on saving a little money, as any of them will do just fine for most people. I will say, if someone uses it as much as I do to blow off any material on the grass or in the garage, the most convenient and powerful is a must.
I just bought the 580 and love it. Convenient with no fumes.
It's actually fun to use!
I wondered what the difference was. I have the 530 and love it.
Way to make me want the 580 though.
@@Brettsgrasscapades trade it in for the 580! 🌬️🍃
@@kove stop it. I don't need anyone trying to get me to spend more money than I already do.
Thanks for mentioning the turn on delay. That would drive me nuts.
Yep, a deal breaker for sure. Thanks for checking it out.
Every where I looked the 580 is about $100 more then the 530 is it worth it when just using it to blow grass off side walks?
Yes, absolutely. Thanks for watching!
We have both at work for blowing out our shop. The 530 battery lasts twice as long. It all depends on what you are using it for. After using both at work I found the battery life in the 530 was good enough to purchase for home use. The 580 has more power but doesn’t last very long. At least in my experience.
Thanks for the comparison good to know. I was thinking about getting a battery powered blower. I have a Ryobi edger so I will be looking at what they offer. The weight is important to me because of my back👵
The are much lighter and just as powerful. Glad you liked it!
Fun video Koven!! I laughed so hard at the barking dog at the end...oh I dread making content to dogs barking!!😂😂😎👍🏼
Esp the little yappers.
Koven Carlson 😫😫😫
Of course you get what you pay for before we ever start testing. The thing is would the 530 suffice is still unanswered ! ! !
Fair point! The 530 is still better than most battery blowers. I'd say it would suffice for most people.
Consumer grade or commercial grade? 🤔 I appreciate the review sir.
I've put at least 50 hours/year on this if that helps.
Great video. Loved how everyone use their blower to blow things back onto their lawns and you blow everything off the lawn..😂
ha! I'd use a vacuum if it were as fast and fun.
I’d do the same if my lawn looked like his
Just bought one of these myself - fantastic!
You'll be super happy with it!
So with the 530, you have to hold down the button even with the speed control?
nope
Subscribed! More Ego reviews please!
1 year follow up with my steal deck ego is in the works 👌
Good Review it helps me make a decision. What kind of tree is that in your yard?
Glad it helped! The tree is a Japanese Weeping Cherry Tree, I love it!
I was just talking to my dad this last weekend about me wanting to get a gas or electric blower.... My brother gave me a non running homelite blower. If I can't get it running I am definitely going to consider this blower. I too am tired of hauling a cord around, especially when going front to back. Great vid Koven.
Yes gas if not taken care of is a major PIA, but by the time you get it started you would be done with this one. I too had to drag a cord around but not now. depending how much you need to use should tell you what one to get. I love this one and never will look back. but do some research on all.
@@nelsonmccoy4120 I see that Toro has some new ones. They look interesting.
I got the 580 and love it!. mine came with two nozzles and a newer 5 amp hour battery that has a fuel gauge and charger also.
I found my two extra nozzles too, forgot to mention it in the video! I considered getting it with the battery, but I have two already. Thanks for watching!
More power is always better 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Best way to have no regrets!
Koven Carlson 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Does the shoulder strap really help with the weight?
I've never used it, I can't think of any reason it would come into play.
No, it doesn't . I gave my Ego away. I felt like I was carrying my VW Bug around. Had to clear leaves off my awning, couldn't carry it up past the 2nd step of the ladder without a hernia. My fault in not doing my homework and realizing the battery weighs as much as my car.......lol. Well, the person I gave it to was thrilled. One mans junk is another mans treasure apparently.
Awesome overview!
If your keeping both can you sell me the smaller one. I like your review by the way
Thanks! Unfortunately I only kept the big one.
EGO warranty sucks. 3 yr, but denied after 1 yr because it wasn't purchased from an authorized seller. How could you know? NEW IN BOX, and worked perfect for 1 yr. LAME excuse to deny warranty
Yeah, I've heard that before, sucks. Sorry to hear it.
How does the company know if the unauthorized seller isn’t selling a refurbished tool? If I was the company I wouldn’t cover the 3 year warranty either unless it’s from an authorized seller I have a contract with.
yes that sucks but must be purchased by authorized seller to receive full warranty is not uncommon. Friend of mine bought a Marantz stereo receiver brand new in a box from a unauthorized dealer from ebay cause he got it cheaper, lasted 6 months then died. Cost him $375 to get it repaired! 😥
Nice review!
Thanks brother 👌
Awesome comparison Koven, wish you made this video last year when I was also deciding which one to get 😁
Which one did you get? There's also a discounted 575 cfm. 🤪
I went with the 575, it’s my go-to leaf blower 👍🏼
Very scientific
Indeed, my left and right arm are almost equal in strength. So basically a controlled experiment.
How long to charge?
Depends on the size of battery and model of charger. I have the quick charger and a 5 AmpHour battery (from buying the Steel Deck Ego Mower). It takes maybe ~25 minutes.
Nice grass!
Thank you, it's my #1 hobby 👌
Thanks for the review. I'm sure you'll improve with more experience. Using the wrong battery on the 580, too much discussion at the beginning, unnecessary music etc. etc. The KY grass though is on point.
Thank you for the input! I love learning. Which battery show be used?
It is selling without battery and charger? Can you give a link of its?
Thanks for mentioning it, adding to description. Here you go: amzn.to/3a8lKTM Thank you!
@ jenea 1207 forget this blower and get the newer more powerful lest costly model at Home Depot
@@kenroman777 which one is this? Wasn't aware there already is a new one.

530 “is unbearably slow” I can tell what generation you’re from 🙄
lol, yeah it's just one of those things!
Your having too much fun, try sticking the tube down your shorts and pulling the trigger!!
How long is the battery good for on the job?
With a 5mamp and not using the turbo button, it will go about 14 mins. Using Turbo, roughly 10.
Off topic.but how you keep the grass so short without killing it?
most important: Keep your blades sharp and never to cut more than 1/3 the grass blade. Don't cut your grass short, cut it short ;) I also use a reel mower.
tests blowers...blows nothing 💪🏽
With them in hand, you can tell a difference. Unfortunately there were no leaves on the ground. :/
I love and support all green tech. I say make the combustion engine illegal
Back to horse and buggy. New industry picking up the poo.
Where will lawn care workers charge their batteries and wait? What about all that extra power consumption thru the grid to charge those big batteries? How will farmers grow their crops to feed us? It's complicated.
I love batter powered stuff for my own convenience. The only way to reach the goal of much less combustion engines is make a larger market demand for it.
Koven Carlson what we need is to stop spoon feeding the fossil fuel industry and support
Green tech. We should be the forefront of the green revolution and not allow this stale
Oligarchy to control our future.
@@dancarpenter419 sounds like you know more about it than me.
music is groovy
Thanks, usually the best part of making them!
@@kove i went out to buy a 580 at home depot because of your video but they had a 615 and it was cheaper so i got it. It was also rated at giving off 2mph more power. What a deal.
How long do the batteries last? That's my concern
Depends if you use the turbo mode or not. If not, about 15 min constant full throttle
That grass has to be fake.
Thanks man! It's going to be even better mid october!
Wait. It’s not fake? Or is it getting a fresh coat of paint. :-)
@@jpcampbell Best compliment!
Just say how much...30% cheaper...what a way to say price
Because the price varies so much, esp if you get different sized batteries; I thought that would be the quickest way to get the message. Thanks for watching!
one of the most useless reviews i've ever seen. You can just read the box's spec and come to the same conclusion as watching this video. Useless. How about how long can the battery last per charge, weight, etc.?
Those are on the box too. I'll do better to be on the top of the list next time.
530 is awesome.
I doubt this 0%.
I just need it to blow the water off my car when I wash them.
They both have a reducing nozzle perfect for that
@@kove Is it the one that looks flat at the tip? Someone said that it attaches directly to the blower and not the longer piece. if that's the one your are referring to.
@@victorvelazquez681yep. it attaches to the long piece, and although I haven't tried I'm sure directly to the blower as well
Nice review!
