We purchased the LB6500 leaf blower with 56V CH2100 battery - NOT HAPPY. It runs for a few minutes then shuts off. Starts right back. Shuts off. Over and over. Apparently this is a known problem with the battery. It does come with a warranty and you have to call and go through about a 30 minute to 1 hour wait to speak with someone (yes I tried leaving my name & number for a call back but they never called me back). Once you finally speak with someone they want to go through the whole troubleshooting process. After waiting 45 minutes to speak with someone I asked if we could skip the troubleshooting because I didn't have time (I do have to work!) and the condescending person said no basically. Really enjoyed the CLEARED AREA test you came up with ... thinking of getting a battery operated unit for my 88 year old father who enjoys making things look as nice as possible... he currently has a gas operated unit which at times has problems starting ... thank you for your thorough evaluation ...
My 530 is a tank. Been covered in mud, experienced many impacts including falling off my trailer, sprayed with water jet, and survived the seemingly endless wall of leaf dust in the fall. The blower still runs. The 650 I got is already gone. I got a replacement from warranty and it has issues too. Try to decide what I want to do for my next blower.
My 650 has been going strong for 3 years now, but since Amazon is running the 765 w/ battery and charger for $230 right now, I upgraded. I could not pass up that deal!
@@cliggster So far my 765 is still working after I picked one up last year. My mechanic told me the 650 had electronics issues and the 765 is a better system. Nice to see your 650 is still working. I put a lot of use in my blowers with my lawn mowing business.
Thank you for the review. Considering the 765CFM at high is 580CFM with runtime of 21.4 min vs the 530CFM using Turbs at 530CFM with runtime of 14.4 min., looks like the 765CFM is a much more efficient leaf blower to me.

My question is the weight of the blowers. Are they the same or is the 765 the heaviest? I’m looking to use the ego blower to dry my car after washing it.

On HUGE factor you left out on your Ryobi vs Ego was customer service and how well issues were resolved if a customer had a problem . Very curious about this aspect
I don't have any experience with Ryobi customer service, but EGO's has been excellent for me. My mower came missing the mulching plug, and one was on my doorstep two business days after I contacted them. I also had a 7.5Ah battery die after two years, and they had a new one shipped to me within a week.
Do you have any feedback on the sound between them? I've seen other reviewers state the 650 seems louder or at least has a much higher pitch or annoying sound to it, thus could possibly be more annoying to neighbors than the 765. Curious your thoughts on non-turbo sound levels as well as at turbo? I'm coming from the 530 and considering the 650 Lowes BF deal, but could be swayed to the 765 if it is noticeably quieter for my family and neighbors. I like to do a fairly regular "dusting" of the driveway and porch. These electric blowers just make it so easy to grab for a quick cleaning. Great review and always appreciate your input over on ToolGuyd!
I haven't noticed much difference in sound between the 650 and the 765. I'd definitely go for the Lowes Black Friday $199 deal for the 650 CFM 5Ah kit if you're thinking of upgrading. Saving $130 is worth it, since the difference is less pronounced between the 650 and 765.
I just purchased the 650 which has an abundance of power but like another person who purchased the same blower, it shuts down temporarily even with a full charge which is a concern. The unit has a 30 day return policy so I am still considering whether to return it or not, especially after reading that Ego’s customer service is lousy : (
Hey there! I watched one of your older videos on the Ryobi battery chargers. And I was wondering, is the big green one that claims to be "30 minutes" a decent upgrade over my p119 charger?
I don't have the P119 to test against, but I think the P117 green charger will be a big upgrade. The P119 looks even more "bare bones" than the P118 I compared in that video.
my 765 blower runs for a few minutes then shuts off with the solid red lights on the battery then i have to disconnect the battery and reinstall it then it works for 30 seconds and shuts off again, tried a different battery and still shuts off and lights are red on battery with full charge
If it's new, take it back. You got a dud. The first one I bought had that same problem right out of the box. I exchanged it immediately for a different one that's never had a problem. If you've had it more than 30 days, EGO'S 3 year warranty will cover it.
The batteries are actually cheaper than Milwaukee when you look at total Watt Hours. An M18 12Ah battery retails for $250, and so does the EGO 5Ah. But one is 18V nominal, and the other is 50.4V nominal. So multiply those twoAh ratings by their respective voltages, and you get 216 Wh for the Milwaukee and 252 Wh for the EGO.
I have a 580cfm i bought in 2021 and it is still going strong. Last season i upgraded to the 765cfm with the battery deal they had going. Problem is that the 765cfm shuts off if I run turbo more than about 5-7 minutes! I assume its overheating b/c if let it sit for awhile it runs fine. I can also pop battery off/on and it will do turbo again but shuts off pretty quickly. The 580cfm i can run wide open turbo until the battery dies.Disappointed in the 765!
Any of them should work great for that. I think the 650 is the best value/performance trade off. Stubby Nozzle Co actually makes a car drying nozzle for these too: amzn.to/43oreEb
@@DoresoomReviews Shirt is awesome! Is that a Tee Fury shirt? Thanks for the informative video - I just got my 650 and I thought I was supposed to put in one of the nozzles, didn't know that i can just leave the nozzle off for maximum air speed.
Doesn't look like much of a difference performance-wise. I'd go with whichever is the better deal. Keep in mind EGO is selling the 670 kitted with a 4Ah battery, and the 650 usually comes with a 5Ah battery. From what I can tell, it looks like EGO is trying to make the 670 more attractive to buyers with negligibly better CFM numbers and hope they don't notice the 20% less capacity of the kitted battery.
@@DoresoomReviews Thanks for pointing out the battery differences. I’m going to keep a lookout for a deal on the 650 with 5Ah battery. The 670 sku seems like a totally unnecessary move to me… not sure what Ego are trying there.
thanks, 12 mins is not useful for a blower, when for $70 a more powerful corded blower is available. More interested in using it to dry a washed car. Have been using corded a very long time and will continure to do so until something more powerful has at least a 30 min run time...
@familydad3241 Oh I figured that, but I was being nice. I highly doubt there's a single corded blower out there that can compete, but it's possible I could be wrong. All they would have to do is give me a model number to prove it. :)
@@DoresoomReviews not really a matter of power, though both the B&D and Toro top of the line corded are in the $70 range, and very powerful though noisy. Have worn out 3 of them in 17 years. The issue is that there IS ONLY A 12 MIN BATTERY LIFE on the powerful Ego, and they cost $250, so definitely not there yet
Sounds like you had a battery die on you and now you hate the brand as a whole? If it's out of the three year warranty period (5 years for 10Ah and higher), then it's usually just worth it to buy another kit rather than a bare battery. If you look at watt hours though, EGO is right in line with other power tool manufacturers for cost per watt hour.
I gave numbers for Turbo, High, and Low settings for each blower if you watch the whole video. And I pretty much use Turbo all the time because my yard is small enough it doesn't matter. If I had to make a battery last with a larger yard, then I'd probably run on high most of the time.
Most review videos state they use turbo pretty much all the time. When people by a blower they want the max blowing power for the fastest job possible, which is just common sense and how most people use their blower.
At lowes, they have 5amp battery for 765 for 90min...used it normal mode and it lasted for 45min. Talk about shady. Not for your large yard with tons of leaves. Gas blower for the win.
Seeing that I got 108 minutes on low with a 5Ah battery, I don't see how you think the 90 minute runtime claim is shady. Of course they're going to use the lowest setting to specify max runtime!
@@DoresoomReviews But is the low setting really feasible for heavy duty jobs? We're not talking about low setting on moving trim of grass. So yes it's shady...its a lie 90min on 5amp....I want to see low setting 90min run time on wet leaves and a ton of leaves for upcoming season. Unless you have multiple ego products, this doesn't work.
It's common sense to assume that max runtime is on low, unless specifically stated otherwise. You can be mad about performance all you want, but 90 minutes runtime isn't a lie. True, with one battery you'll be waiting for it to charge if you're tackling a large yard with wet leaves. But I have a small yard and it's very rare that I need to go grab another battery to finish clearing my yard of leaves. These battery blowers are more powerful than just about any handheld gas leaf blower you can compare them with, which usually top out around 450-500 CFM. I'll take the higher power and convenience of the EGO any day over gas. If you need very long runtimes, then you'll need to stick with gas or buy more batteries. If you want more power, you'll have to look at top end gas backpack blowers.
Yeah dude, if you are blowing dust from a dry flat smooth surface and your next battery won't be done charging for 90 minutes, what are you going to use? Super fuckin high power that will be done in 45 mins or low power for 90 minutes so you can hop right on the next battery once you're done? some jobs require low and slow. Please tell me you don't cook your ribs at 800 degrees for 30 minutes because it's the same thing as 200 deg for 4 hours?
It's pretty standard for battery blowers of this power level. Many handheld gas leaf blowers top out around 450 CFM. So if you compare the "high" runtime of 20-30 minutes for all of these, it's a much more reasonable number than the Turbo setting.
@@DoresoomReviewsIt's a bummer compared to my $60 corded electric that can do 600 CFM for hours though. I was hoping to replace that with cordless, but now I see that's unrealistic. Fantastic video, by the way. So informative and to the point!
WHY DID U NOT TEST THE 530 WITH THE BATTERY IT CAME WITH. WASTE OF TIME. IT TELLS PEOPLE NOTHING BECAUSE ITS NOT ACCURATE. U GAVE ALL THE INFO & DIAGNOSTICS OF THE 530 WITH A DIFFERENT BATTERY. SO UR TELLING PPL THE WRONG INFO. WHY CANT U DO IT WITH THE BATTERY IT CAME WITH? WHY EVEN TEST IT
Because it wouldn't have been a fair comparison of what the blower can do. The smaller 2.5Ah batteries can't output as much current as the larger 5Ah batteries. So it would have handicapped the 530 CFM blower and you wouldn't get a clear picture of its capabilities. Also, manufacturers can change what batteries come in a kit over the life of the product and the blower is also sold bare tool. So sticking with the same battery for comparing all three models makes sense. AND BTW, I THINK YOUR CAPS LOCK IS STUCK ON!
Every podcaster demonstrates what ever blower moving leaves off a sidewalk. Which even the cheapest blower can accomplish. If you really want to show the viewers how each unit will work in a actual work situation use a leaf covered lawn. Sorry your demonstration showed me very little in a workenviroment..
Yes, I covered runtime tests in the video. Sure, if you have a large property you need more batteries or stay with gas. But you're greatly exaggerating when you write this off as a "sidewalk only" blower. Even just on high you get 580 CFM, which is more than the top handheld gas blowers can do. And at that speed, runtime is bumped up to 22 minutes. For the convenience of not dealing with a pull start, lower noise, and higher power output, I'll pick the EGO any day over gas.
That's on turbo..... I own the 530 I run it on high with only bursts of turbo when needed and I can do my 10,000sqft property no problem at all on a single charge.
I watched your video and went with the EGO 650 blower. I got it on sale at Lowes during the Christmas sales period following Thanksgiving for $212.00 (with charger and battery). Your video was the one that sold me on that model...thank you for making this worthwhile video.

It sounds like something is wrong with your 765. Mine doesn't cut out like that.
I want one mainly for drying the cars which one would you recommend? Would the 650 with the 4 ah be enough?
Any of them should work great for that. I think the 650 is the best value/performance trade off. Stubby Nozzle Co actually makes a car drying nozzle for these too: amzn.to/43oreEb
Great video
Well done 👍
Thanks
Is there really a ~5lbs weight difference between the 650 and 765 as shown on the Ego website?
No, there's no significant weight difference. They probably included the battery weight on one and not the other.
Have 530 with 5.0 battery
Anyone know the weight of these blowers with a 2.5 vs 5 aH battery? I'm hearing the 5aH hour is heavy and you need a shoulder strap for it.
I use the 5Ah exclusively in these blowers. I've never felt the need for a shoulder strap.
Liking for the shirt! ;)
I aim to misbehave!
@@DoresoomReviews Shirt is awesome! Is that a Tee Fury shirt? Thanks for the informative video - I just got my 650 and I thought I was supposed to put in one of the nozzles, didn't know that i can just leave the nozzle off for maximum air speed.
I got it from shirt.woot.com
For max air speed, use the nozzle. For max air volume, take the nozzle off.
Anyone know if there’s a difference between the 650 and 670?
Just curious, what corded blower do you have that's more powerful than the EGO 765 CFM blower?
@@DoresoomReviewsJust another troll
@familydad3241 Oh I figured that, but I was being nice. I highly doubt there's a single corded blower out there that can compete, but it's possible I could be wrong. All they would have to do is give me a model number to prove it. :)
@@DoresoomReviews not really a matter of power, though both the B&D and Toro top of the line corded are in the $70 range, and very powerful though noisy. Have worn out 3 of them in 17 years. The issue is that there IS ONLY A 12 MIN BATTERY LIFE on the powerful Ego, and they cost $250, so definitely not there yet
Little late to the game but great video
Bro is NOT project farm😂
Best blower ever highest $$$ battery ever 🤣🤣🤣
The EGO 5Ah is actually cheaper than a Milwaukee M18 12Ah if you look at total watt hours.
Ego is garbage, here in Canada 56V battery when you need new one at some time is priced at $399. Just a battery 😂
Next time for battery life don't use turbo. Normal usage is a better metric. No one should be running these at full turbo all the time.
@@TheSydguy30I use mine on turbo most of the time, too. I use 10 and 5 ah batteries.
This is a very low run time
It's pretty standard for battery blowers of this power level.

Sorry I'm sticking with gas
Cool story, Chief.
All tests worthless after 15 mins of use and cuts off. Unless you live in a condo or only need to blow off sidewalk. Gas is still king unfortunately.
If you have a larger property, I use a 10ah battery and their backpack battery holder. Makes it much easier for long use.
It's detailed review, and very informative.
