  • Here today at All Saints Church Oystermouth In Swansea to play the Organ for you in the first of our videos today I'm playing the Hymn "Be Thou My Vision" to the tune Of Slane this is for King Arthur of Nottingham as was attempting to sing this last week, so hope he does an upload and also showing off his sound though his Powerful Fisher Sound System that he has.
    The Zoom H2 was placed in the Choir Stalls recording in .mp3 format as a try of the different sound options so hope it sounds great, also using the Panasonic HX-DC1 for the "Pedal Cam" and Sony HDR SR10E for the Console View.
    Thank you as ever for watching my videos here on youtube, these take most of my time to record, and edit and upload to youtube so please show your appreciation by leaving your comments below and rate and favorite my videos. Let me know as well if you have any requests and will sort that out for you. If your a new comer to my videos and channel hit the subscribe button to show your support

      The organ in my father's house had three keyboards and full conclave of footpedals. It was made by Este Organs of Bratelborn, USA in about 1880. We bought it from a city church.

    Magnificent playing, thank you Rob. God bless us all. Here for any who want to add their own voice (after the introduction), are the words:
    0:30 VERSE 1
    Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
    naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
    Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
    waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
    1:04 VERSE 2
    Be Thou my wisdom, be Thou my true word;
    I ever with thee, and Thou with me, Lord.
    Born of thy love, Thy child may I be,
    Thou in me dwelling and I one with Thee.
    1:37 VERSE 3
    Be Thou my buckler, my sword for the fight.
    Be Thou my dignity, Thou my delight,
    Thou my soul’s shelter, Thou my high tow’r.
    Raise thou me heav’nward, O Pow’r of my pow’r.
    2:09 VERSE 4
    Riches I heed not, nor vain empty praise;
    Thou mine inheritance, now and always.
    Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
    Ruler of heaven, my treasure Thou art.
    2:41 VERSE 5
    High King of heaven, when vict’ry is won
    may I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heav’n’s Sun!
    Heart of my heart, whatever befall,
    still be Thou my vision, O Ruler of all.

    Don't mind the tutorial honestly, but the repetition is superfluous, lacking musical variety...

      IT'S GOOD, BUT WHEN YOU GO ON AND ON IT IS BORING. You play well so take heart it's not all bad news...

      Fair enough, but it's not congregational singing, it's a tutorial. Personally I'd play one part of the tune for it and then move to another, unless of course there's variation to the next verse which there's not except for a few stop pulls and then played exactly the same. Not for me I'm afraid but it's good that's all...
