This is probably my single most favorite Christian hymn ever, although there are many. This song is first and foremost about spiritual warfare, but can also be a tremendous source of inspiration in service to one's country and people. It apparently takes on its true meaning in the midst of difficult times and persecution, becoming an even more powerful incentive to move forward and never cease. A most beautiful rendition.
This march "Onward Christian Soldiers" is a wonderful old Sunday School and Vacation Bible School song I remember all of us belting as members of the children's choir in a Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, PA during the 1950's! Great, spirited playing and a glorious bass! Thank you for sharing.
This Song was Played at My dads Funeral He was In the United states Navy so they Played this at his I break down and cry sometimes Because I miss him so much but thank god for my Older sisters they are my comfort you see I was adopted and i depend on them I guess to much I been to Counseling and in the hospital for depression But Its god is my healer . sorry to bore you with my story
Dear Mr. Charles, I would like you to know that I played this at my father’s graveside memorial service yesterday as it was his favorite hymn. Your rendition has to be the most beautiful I’ve ever heard. Thank you and God Bless.
Rob thank you for this beautiful hymn. Tonight as I was going through a difficult situation in my own life and needed encouragement The Lord used your playing of This hymn to remind me that I would be safe with him and he would bring healing in this area of my life
Images come to mind of Edwardian Sunday school children in their best hats parading at the Whit walks before all Hell broke loose in 1914.---Wonderful lyrics and inspiring tune,a complete joy to hear, thank you.
I listened to this through my headphones sounds awesome especially the rich bass sound of this magnificent instrument. Very well played indeed . Keep them rolling Bravo !
Being from New England, every Congregationl Church had this as a staple for a Sunday morning service. But I never could quite figure out why it was sung the first Sunday in June every year. Anyone have any thoughts on that. Love this version . Please keep them coming !!!
A bit lively for singing, I think; it's good to be able to sing the words with some solid articulation. ;) This is, however, gorgeous. Thank you for posting this and all your other videos. They are all beautiful!
Awesome Video! I'm still marching, Lord willing, but the load seems to be getting heavier, but your great resounding Organ renditions are an encouraging psychological lift!💪👍
Excellent, Rob! I've head about three-quarters of it and then it stopped and the message came up that 'The Adobe Flash Player has crashed!' - I blame it on the speed that you made those Christian Soldiers march! :-) 'Complete Anglican - Hymns Old & New' which fails to understand Spiritual Warfare (they should re-read Paul's Letters) and assumes it all to be to do with soldiers fighting - as in places like Afghanistan - has rewritten the hymn to be 'Onward, Christian Pilgrims'.
Many thanks for posting your latest, Rob. Really enjoyed hearing you play "Onward Christian Soldiers" at such a lively tempo! And I don't think there's any broken pictures as yet in my 2 Bedroomed, pre-war Semi as yet! I've a framed photo of my lovely black cat, Bramble, taken sitting in the bath in 1994, and she's still intact! She was a wonderful pussy friend, Rob, and we missed her so much when she was put to sleep, aged 16. Thanks again and God bless. Charlie, Aberdeen.
this is How I like a Organ Being Played with lot of bass and the pipes lifting the Church roof of the Building . not he type that Play somber Music like going to a funeral Mr Rob You are Boss of the Organ You Make that baby rumble
Rob - Just wondering, have you found a suitable rendition of the 'Battle Hymn of the Republic' you could play sometime? I'm pretty sure you'd get a good response! 😃
Sounds fantastic. Thank you for putting some masculinity back in to God's music. This crippling, emasculating modernity is destroying Christian worship.
