My parents used to run a restaurant, and they play this music everyday. Now it's been a long time since then, I miss it, the memory of the crowd eating, chattering...
If someone is getting confused why do they see this in their recommendations... Beg your pardon. Totally my fault. Watched that video about 435 539 times.
A lot of people comment on how upset Shostakovich always looks in photos, and he had a lot of reason to be, but I think it's kind of sweet that the only photos ever of him smiling is when hes with his daughter.
My mother, who had been dementia since the age of 80, became increasingly memoryless. I was the only son of my mother's 1 man and 4 children, and my family lived with my parents. About four years before my mother died, I left the house around 6 am every day and went to greet my mother's hospital, which is accessible by driving for about 10 minutes. In addition to medical treatment, I hope that my mother's memory will survive even a little bit ... I tried many things such as photos, things my mother cherished, family photos, family videos, etc. Then one day, I asked my mother to listen to the nursery rhymes of the elementary school that my mother knew. When my mother heard the nursery rhymes of the elementary school, her cheeks were red, and she had tears with a happy expression as if she remembered something. Then one day, I woke up around 4 am, and in the living room of my house, I happened to see a video of André Rieu-The Second Waltz (Shostakovich), and I cried wondering if it was like heaven. I was impressed, so I talked to my wife. And about two weeks later, in the morning, I showed my mother the video André Rieu-The Second Waltz (Shostakovich) on my iPad. My mother shed tears as her cheeks turned red, like when she was listening to elementary school nursery rhymes. My mother passed away two years ago. But I will never forget my mother's tears shed while listening to music. Thanks The Second Waltz (Shostakovich). Thank you very, very, very much.

what a loving relationship!
Je ne l'aurais jamais crû si on m'avait dit cela il y a quelques années, mais je commence sérieusement à apprécier la musique classique.
This is genius, I never get tired of listening to it. Russians are brilliant, they stand out in many areas, not only in music.
like communism
@@philosophicalfalafelwaffle1355 Yes, but just in case you say it ironically, I will tell you that you are not yet ready to have that discussion, sir blinded by fanaticism towards the United States haha. I send you greetings
@@philosophicalfalafelwaffle1355 that is not a good thing to be known for

My parents used to run a restaurant, and they play this music everyday. Now it's been a long time since then, I miss it, the memory of the crowd eating, chattering...
You can eat with me ;)
I have so many memories I think I heard this song before
Ok

Hagrid: Harry your a wizard
Harry: No Hagrid, I'm a musician
jakob russell which is much cooler.
AHAHAHAHAHA I DO WATER
jakob russell it's not "harry your a wizard" it's "yer a wizard harry"
"But Hagrid, my name is Dmitri, not Harry!"
but aren't the two synonymous?
A lot of people comment on how upset Shostakovich always looks in photos, and he had a lot of reason to be, but I think it's kind of sweet that the only photos ever of him smiling is when hes with his daughter.
What a masterpiece!!!

This piece is enchanting. Once it is heard, it can never be forgotten. Russian folk songs are irresistible too.

WONDERFUL, Shostakovich!!, a true genius, as his contemporaries, Stravinsky, etc, following the classic line of Tchaikovsky etc!

My condolences, for I could not imagine what it would be like to lose a mother. I hope you and your family are doing ok :)
beautiful
It truly is an amazing piece of music.
but seriously, shostakovich is one of the best composers that has ever existed. i love his work.
Oh, how much i love this Waltz! Incredible!!!
Прекрасная музыка и прекрасное исполнение! BRAVO!!!
The most Majestic Waltz,I love this music
I agree!
I love Strauss who is the King of Waltz but I agree that this is the greatest waltz composed ever. 😇😃😊
È meraviglioso
I prefer Chopin Waltzes, but this is still one of the best Waltzes ever.
This is nice but i prefer waltz of the flowers personally
I feel perfum, I see flowers, and I see beautiful ladies floating on the notes of this waltz. A world of joy. A dream.

I see ballet girls dancing very beautyfully
I see Darth Vader on a carousel ride
I see OSP's Dionysus video, about 3 minutes in
i see the soviet union marching to execute my distanttan relative for being a spy
Many years ago my former girlfriend from Milwaukee introduced me to him many years ago. I love this music with fond memories of Mary.
This is my favorite Waltz❤❤❤
it's a mixture of sadness, joy, grace and beauty and at the same time a lot of irony

One of the top-of-the-line super Waltzes! Picture yourself waltzing over the ballroom floor to this tune with your sweetheart in your arms! Never another moment like it.
a dream
Got it one mate.
I don't hear this kind of feeling from a music regularly, but when i do i feel a sense of anemoia, a warm yet cold feeling, kind of like christmas
That's most likely why Stanley Kubrick chose this piece for his Christmas film, "Eyes Wide Shut". Brilliant filmmaker. Brilliant composer.
Thats amazing! @@tonieanne1
