    I would be very curious what Howard would have written had he lived out his life naturally

      @@libertycowboy2495ha, we just show premiers at Tx time because that's where REH was from and most of our subs are from the US. We're based in Scotland, but we hope you didn't get hit too bad by the storms either.

    So damn good.
    Im a huge HPL fan ,
    But im just now getting into REH.
    Im also really big on UFOs as ive had a few sightings,
    So when a story starts out with folks talking about elongated skulls and ancient religion...
    Im instantly 100% on board.

    Dang, got a bit racist at the end there. Ravings of a madman? Or a memory of a life lived in a different age that's has altered his thinking to a more primitive mindset.

    • @williamfawkes8379
      @williamfawkes8379 Рік тому +4

      Just at the end? This is written by Howard. It's something that factors in nearly every one of his stories. If you want to enjoy a story by him, you must accept that he was most definitely racist and not trying to hide it in the slightest bit.

    • @TheCybrarian
      @TheCybrarian  Рік тому +5

      REH has an institutional racism due to time/environment but doesn't hate any races, he loves their exoticism in his escapism. But he often writes characters who are racist or become racist, like the lead female in 'vale of lost women' who's brother is tortured and killed by a tribe, she's very racist after that. And O'Donnell in this story, isn't any kind of hero, by the end he's a raving psycho who is going to murder one of his own friends because due to a possible brain injury. It interesting to read a story told in first person from a character who virtually ends up the villian.
