A question for more learned fans. Is there any relation to the Children of Set seen in this story with the Serpent Men in the Kull story “The Shadow Kingdom,” or the Bran Mak Morn “Worms of the Earth?”

I only just found these. I've previously only listened to your Robert E Howard stuff. It's almost weird to not hear you NOT reading about gore or sorcery. I kept expecting to hear about Santa's "mighty thews" thanks for having such a wide breadth of work.

If anyone wants to know of the song of the opening its casually If I Were You by Soularflair, now i don't usually like free royalty music but this song is pretty cool to be honest.

Listening to this story. The song 'No Quarter' kept playing in my mind; mix with this was that Frazetta cover of this story, breathing with motion like a harsh wind blowing imagined in my head when hearing the introduction of the giants and the fight between them and Conan following suit.

This story is probably the actual reason Damnation sometimes reminds me of REH. Not the 1930s setting, not the fact that the sheriff kinda looks like Lovecraft, not coz that one journalist was an aspiring novelist. It's this story. Coz of that damn song at the pilot.

Took me a while to get to this one (sorry) but oohhhh yes was it worth it, cannot praise your work enough! But I'll keep trying. 😎🤣

The music at the end reminds me of That's The Way by Led Zeppelin. The story itself is excellent and well read.

I thought it was called, " The Heart Of Assurbanipal." The important thing is i remembered it well from a paperback called simply, " CUTHULU". The scariest part was when the gem went torwards the wall which had opened partly revealing monsterous eyes looking from the dark. Of how the hero and his partner kept their eyes tightly closed because if they saw what walked from its hiding place, put the gem back in the hand of the moldering corpse on the dais, he would've lost his mind- the mind cannot always handle a denizen of the Cuthulu mythos.

Love the character of N'Longa - I think he's even better in "Hills of the Dead."

Well with that reference to the Baste Priest that goes back to that cat in the Kull story, who may or may not had been said Goddess in disguise. I once had a guide for Cthulhu role-playing game and apparently Baste was actually present in Love-craft's lore among all his Great-old Ones. Its funny how this stuff goes full-circle! (That's the last Robert E Howard story I've gotten through on this channel. Phew! What a brutal yet brilliant vivid Imagination this Man had!)

The accents really detract from my enjoying it. Too much. I’m giving up on this one
