My dad passed away when I was 13, i’m 27 now, he used this knife for a lot of his outdoor activities and skinning. I have the original one he used. It’s hanging on my belt as I type this. I understand what you mean by sentimental. Much love man, keep making videos!
My dad had the Buck 110 and 112 when they were still made in San Diego. Great knives for the cost. Hope Buck gets their QC under control. Many quality Chinese companies putting out amazing knives for the cost. Great video
I recently bought a Buck 112, and it is very well made. Excellent quality and workmanship on it. Because of that quality, I am probably going to get a Buck Vanguard fixed blade knife as well.....
Excellent video my friend,i have S big collection of Scandi knives, but lately I have started collecting Buck knives and Bark river knives.Great to find a simetrical point on the Buck knife,i have more expensive knives and the point doesn't match up,I'm talking about expensive Swedish knives.Good vid stay safe.👍
Fallkniven , Casstrom , or Karesuando?!? They make beautiful knives! I've been buying more and more fixed blades (high and low end) and the bevels seems to be a "crap shoot" really! Thank you for watching and the positive comments.
I'm keeping this version unused for sentimental reasons, But the Alaskan S30V model has been stellar. Would love Buck to make a Pro version with Micarta and S45VN. Thanks for watching
I wish they’d make another knife just like this but with less of a belly and a blade better for bushcraft/survival type stuff. I have one of these mostly because I love how it feels and looks, but it’s really a skinning knife.
It's such a classic Loveless design and beautifully executed by BUCK. But you right about it's lower overall usefulness for all around camp tasks! Thanks for watching
If you want a good bushcraft/survival knife buy a 124. I carry my 124 most of the time, although there's days I carry the vanguard just for minor knife things because it's nice size to carry and catches less attention than the 124 lol
@@Kurogane_666 Hi Johnathan, Looked at knife tonight and there's no noticeable screws or pins on the handle of the Buck Vanguard. Must be attached with glue or other bonding agent .
I wish I had a better experience with the newer Buck knives I've purchased. I'm not going to stop buying them because I like a lot of their designs. Thank you for watching
Wow Bryan, That's a beautiful rifle! I need to look at one of those up close. I've been looking at the Cabelas S30V Buck Vanguard for a while now. Thanks for watching

wow.. lmassoff, you've never used a knife and doing a review. pretty funny. you've got a good knife, keep the sheath its not made in mexico, its better then you might think

Sorry for your loss. Your father is looking down at you and smiling.
@@dr.stevenpennym.d.3241 Thank you
I received mine a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. It came out of the box sharp as a razor. Perfect construction.
Great knife! I'm hoping Buck makes a legacy version with S45VN this year. Thanks for watching
that is a real leather sheath as pretty much all buck knives come with, and very high quality leather goods come out of mexico
Thank you for the info. It's actually not bad considering the price point. Thanks for watching
Not real leather/ not high quality.

You forgot the descriptive adjective "communist" before chinese
Buck are great knives. 👍👍👍
I've had a "hit or miss" relationship with Buck knives! But I keep buying them and always will. Thanks for watching
Just got one today.
I think I'm going to like it very much indeed.
And I plan on using it not just a display queen.
Thanks for watching
Nice looking knife!

Just got one of these and i love it. Feela so perfect
Still one of my favorite Buck fixed blades! I'm planning on picking up the Cabela's S30V version. Thanks for watching

I have a china copy, the pommel screws on, is it the same with the authentic ones??
Hi Johnathan, No pommel screws (none anywhere ) on the real Vanguard. Thanks for watching
@@knifevideochannel4657 thanks man can you tell me how it's actually attached I've been wondering how the real ones are
I'll examine it closely and let you know!

Hi Johnathan,
Looked at knife tonight and there's no noticeable screws or pins on the handle of the Buck Vanguard. Must be attached with glue or other bonding agent .
I believe the tang is pinned to the pommel. It's the same way that Buck 119s and Kabars are put together.
It's a knife that deserves a Custom sheath !
Hopefully my wife eventually has time to make one for it. Thanks for watching
The handle is fine with blood, I hunt seal sometimes, use this knife. It is very good, blubber, blood and saltwater, it is a super knife.

That knife would go good with my Henry Golden boy .22.

It’s a natural match with the Henry’s walnut stock and brass receiver.. Great combo out squirrel hunting. Now I just need to buy the knife.

Got it today! So nice! Nice sheath too! But it doesnt stay Still in THE sheath! So THE sheath aint optimal! But otherwise! Beautiful! 9/10!
Love the Vanguard! Hoping Buck makes one in Green Canvas Micarta and S35VN (Pro Series) like the 119. Thanks for watching
You pause an awful lot in this video, which is weird. The sheath btw is very good quality leather. Next time you do a video, don’t pause so much.
Older video but pausing (that's a first time comment) duley noted! Thanks for watching
Nothing more useful than a review of a knife by someone who's never used it. Jesus
