@@mikejurnak0324 we'll quit complaining when they get better QC than the mid-tier Chinese companies like Kizer and We. A $160 made in USA knife shouldn't be outclassed by a $160 Chinese knife in terms of QC. I am a BENCHMADE addict. I currently have 14 of them with 3 more on preorder. The reason the two speakers kept comparing the bailOUT and the taggedOUT to the bugOUT is because they are a series. The blade thickness is the exact same on all three models. The tips differ because they have different purposes. The blade length is also the exact same. The handles are slightly different to accommodate the intended purpose. The “rubberized” they kept talking about is called santoprene it is a synthetic. Both knives are fantastic plus 3V is one of my favorite steel M4 and Magnacut being my top 3. Followed by cruewear being number 4 and 1905 being number 5. For those of you who don’t know, cruewear is literally an upgraded formula of D2. CPM created cruewear in the 80’s. It’s also not a new super steel it’s old school super steel. It is what all “super steel” today is compared to. D2 is a very popular steel for all the reasons the tool steels are popular steels (tool steel starts with a letter followed by a number. I.e D2, M4, W2, A1) the reason D2 is so popular is because it’s a anomaly being that it is in fact a tool steel which means it has a higher amount of carbon. 12-13% carbon in D2. To be considered a stainless steel it needs 11% or less of carbon. So D2 is a good choice cruewear is a better choice and now Magnacut will rule them all. Btw I am so excited for my preorder mini adamas in Magnacut and my preorder taggedout in Magnacut both from BladeHQ. If you feel like buying one Benchmade is too expensive I urge you to reconsider. I do agree that if a person wants just a pocket knife to last them the rest of there life getting a basic bugout is the best option also a basic griptilion or a basic 940 also good. But better to upgrade the blade steel and the handle material. I don’t personally like S30V (It’s brittle) but most people will never meet the limit of that steel. I have been a a loyal customer of bladehq for a very very long time.
I got a bench made bug out with aluminum scales, one of the strongest tools I’ve enjoyed using. I use it for everything from boxes to simple camping tasks. I recommend it to anyone on the fence about Benchmade Knives and their warranty is incredible, and they replaced my aluminum scales when they were damaged for no cost after sending them in. A fantastic customer service team, too👍
We don't like to admit that 95% of the time we use our pocket knives to open a package, which leaves our families wondering why the heck we drop $200-$300 on a knife whose job any $5 box cutter would do. We must be crazy.
Hey. I was in the Army and they sent me to Iraq in 2003. Knifes were used for opening mail, MRE’s and the occasional 550 paracord. No knife fights or skinning game the entire time!
@@coolbreeze2399 Respect to you for your time in Iraq first of all. But going back to the knife discussion, let's be honest - if you fought a war in Iraq and most of the time a knife was only used to open mail, an MRE package, and the occasional paracord, that proves the point that we don't need a $200 knife. However, I admit that we don't act logically 100% of the time. And let me share a secret... I'm fixing to buy a Benchmade Bugout for $200 🤣shhhh 🤫
Lol hey, at least you came out and said it! I find it really hard to spend over 100 bucks on a knife when I've found quite a few really decent knives for 10-20 bucks at gun shows. Though I have bought a Buck 110 automatic for around 200 and I want a Spyderco PM 2 as well, but it's a lot of money for a knife that actually gets used. If you drop it or lose it, it's awful. Though with any addiction, it's gonna cost some money lol. I am a gun guy who has always had knives and I've just gotten into knife collecting earlier this year. I though gun people were nuts for the prices they pay, but knife people are insane lol, no offense intended. I'm just, crazy in general haha. I think these knife manufacturers got some fuckin balls though to even think about charging hundreds of dollars for a plastic handle folding pocket knife that's intended to be used. People say you're paying for the name, fuck that, these manufacturers are the real crazy fuckers. There are some nice knives out there and I have several I want that run 150-200 bucks that I'll probably have over time, but if I'm spending over that, I want a gun for my money. Hell, a classic 2 shot 38 special Derringer, got one for 100 bucks one time and it works great! Still have it years later! Anyhow, I see all these "tactical" and "survival" reviews for knives like anyone is really ever in a survival situation AND happens to have their knife to begin with lol and how many people really use a knife for anything other than opening packages with more knives in them, or cutting the tape on cardboard boxes to break them down, or cutting a loose string, or opening a bag of something or any other random light task pretty much ever? I'm at least glad to see someone be honest about it. That's all I use my knives for. I'd use it for self defense IF that ever even became necessary, which to date it never has. Been in fights, but not ones serious enough to try and stab someone. Also, my gun would be my go to in a case like that with the knife being secondary with my brass knuckles.
The Flyway refers to a migration route ducks use. It is made for the delicate work of cleaning birds. I have a Bugout, Bailout, and Infidel. The partially serrated Bailout is by far my favorite. It's like having three blades in one.
As someone who had cleaned many birds, it looks nice. Looks great for getting organ out and such. But id still want a nice big knife for necks and other big areas.
I appreciate that you have a good amount of USA knives, which most all of the Benchmade are, AFAIK. I admit, I have a bugout 535-3 as my EDC, and have a Hidden Canyon for skinning, I could skin with the bugout if I really had to, I just prefer a fixed blade. My most cherished blade doesn't have a name, it's a 4" version of a clip point (mini bowie) that my dad gave me when I was about 4 years old, I have cleaned dozens of fish and taught myself to sharpen on. The old beat up leather sheath has my dad's initials carved into it. It can shave hair, but I broke the tip off using it like a screwdriver so it's been reshaped at the tip. I think it's time to pass it along to my own son...he only got to meet my dad once and he was young and doesn't remember. I have a couple other nicer knives, an Alan Kartzen (framelock) that is much nicer than the bugout with timascus...but it's too big in my front pocket, where I carry the bugout...in the end the Bugout wins...Let freedom ring!🗽
Small knives like the flyway are nice for field dressing so you have good control over the tip while you're reached up the chest cavity freeing the top of the gut sack.
Benchmade is a great company. The knives are a little expensive but well worth it for the lifetime warranty and Lifesharp program. I still love the very first knife they made with ATS-34 Japanese steel which was called the Advance Folding Combat Knife. I carried this during me travels up in Alaska and through my camping trips in California. I still have the knife, and it still looks brand new. My daughter has laid claim to it and to the rest of my other Benchmade collection by saying, " Dad, when your gone, your knife collection is mine." 😂
Just received my first Benchmade 14:28 and it's really very good. Fantastic slim and lightweight knife. I'm worried this will not be my last Benchmade knife!
@@PeterShire WoW I really have enjoyed my Bailout and would love to get a back spacer to try that out. The glass breaker (sometimes) digs in my hand a little. Back spacers for the dugout are easy enough mainly because I guess of their populatity.
I've got a Bedlam auto, Vector, Arcane, Boost, Arvensis, SOCP, Fixed Contego and my original blue scale mini presidio auto. The 590 Boost absolutely does not get the respect it deserves. The assist is snappy and the rubberized scales are great for heavy use. Very comfortable. I like it so much I bought another for my son's first knife.
I've got the original 940 in s30v and the bailout in aluminum and m4...for those I see complaining about the action being stiff, both of mine slicked right up after a day or two of fidgeting and will now drop shut completely on their own..... although they are pricey,I'm a fan.
One thing I don’t get about guys that judge off what steel your blade is (if they’re really prepping to be in the bush or a survival situation) do they carry a Diamond stone? Because you’re not gonna sharpen a super steel on a wet stone you find in the bush. Try and sharpen some s30v lmax or m390 on a cheap sharpening tool. Gonna destroy your knife or it’ll take you forever (because it won’t work) having a softer steel that you can sharpen a rock you find at the river makes more sense imo if you’re stuck out there and it’s all you got
The idea is you won't have to sharpen your knives on a trip or in a survival situation. Sure it would take forever to sharpen maxamet or k390 on a cheaper sharpening stone but many of the more balanced steels like cruwear can be sharpened on cheaper wetstones. Most super steels are gonna hold at least a working edge for weeks with a strop and some compound. I'm not sure what cheaper sharpening tools your talking about, but the falkniven dc4 is pretty affordable. Either way, I would prefer a dulling cruwear or elmax over a river rock sharpened 440c or aus8.
I have a Benchmade bug out in sv90 with carbon fiber grips, I can honestly say I have never been more disappointed with a knife. The edge was rough at best and needed some serious work to get it straight, the action was so stiff it required two hands to open, Fit and finish on grips was poor. When I sent them an email I got an automated reply and nothing else. This is the last Benchmade I will ever buy. There are to many great knives out there for same money or less.
@@brettmorgan5129 it just feels dinky. I'm not a fan of the scales it comes with. There's just much better knives for that price range. Like the Kizer drop bear.
I’ve bought two Benchmade knifes now. And I to test the finish on the blade I’ll run my thumb nail along the side of edge. These have only had a ruff grind done to them. The 496 Vector front edge won’t cut anything. They want me to mail it back. For as much as it cost there is know way it should have left the factory or what ever you wish to call it.
@@johnqgeezer1857 I check the edge on any new knife and I expect to resharpen it but the benchmade was abysmal, I have a couple of truckstop knives that had better edges than my bugout did out of the box.
Just picked up my first higher end knife a couple of weeks ago. - carbon bugout with s90v. I was super impressed with the build quality so I picked up the hidden canyon hunter with the s90v as well. I’ll probably dive into Magnacut next but hopefully benchmade will make it in more models 🤷♂️ maybe it’s not as good as I’ve heard but Magnacut seems interesting
Loveeee me some magnacut but damn have a fallen down the rabbit whole with it, between a Chris reeves and my mcnees and more coming. And underrated magnacut knife is the hogue deka and the kershaw launch 15
I have the Hogue Deka in Magnacut. It's an AMAZING knife. However, the one I have has a polymer plastic handle. I wish it came in Micarta or G-10. I'm not a fan of after market scales not maintaining the ambidextrous clip holes. That's a deal breaker for me when it comes to handles/knives.
@@Tekrow a knife is only as good as it’s handle and also it’s blade. One without the other is always a dealbreaker for me. Typically I like g10 on working knives and I have a few knives for looks that I don’t care about material on the handle.
I’ll take my Mel Pardue Griptilian 551-1 over any other knife Benchmade makes. Been my EDC for over five years and using it for real work. It’s not a collectible. Don’t have a 940, but I love this Griptilian with the gray G10 handles, blue liners, and CPM-20CV. I may add a 940 soon. Also have a Spyderco Manix 2 XL in S30V with some upgrades that I’m really fond of.
@@RandoWisLuL no, my al time favorite is the Manix 2 in G10. But this is the only Benchmade that feels great for me. I just don't trust a omega spring that's it. It's says second favorite now..
Crooked river mini is my go to knife. Love it. It's good for everything. Love to whittle sharp bits of sticks when out with my dog. As he loves sticks. And fetch and tug of war.
You probably got a counterfeit have you watch dbk video on the bugout the Baton it to split wood they torture the fook out of it and it didn’t break it survived everything
@@Grabthembypussycat the lock itself was fine when the springs were working. just the springs themselves broke in less than 6 months. Replaced it with new after market springs and sold it off. I bought it from the knife centre, an official BM distributor so im very sure its real
Not saying these guys are posers but I use my benchmade bugout mini everyday. From rope box’s weed eater string, food flooring underlayment. You name it. Awesome knife
I love my 940 but I wish it had a lanyard hole. I put a deep carry clip on mine and I find it hard to fish out of my pocket. I think the Griptilian still reigns as the top outdoor/bushcraft single-blade folder and I love my CF Elite Bugout. Also, the Axis lock is my favorite lock and has been ever since it came out in the 710. Would love to see a lighter version of the 710.
I have a very modded bugout. 1. I adore my knife 2. I think of them as the Glocks of pocket knives. They in my opinion have more after market parts than anything else.
Lol my mini bugout is perfect, titanium everything, and upgraded the axis to a mini grip one, it extends the axis by just a millimeter or so.. action is dialed in, centered… it’s perfect… a completely stonewash/silver build
When they announced the meat-crafter I bought a custom one right way and it is absolutely insane they way it effortlessly cuts through cartilage in birds and it’s scary to use it on anything with a tough rind or a bone to stop it. It’s been a treat to keep scary sharp with just a strop and a rod. It’s my absolute favorite knife I own and it’s highly recommended to anyone who likes knives and cookin
I was looking at some of their kitchen knives and they are smoking some Grade A crack on the prices. Shouldn't a fixed blade knife always be cheaper than a folder? I get the cost of folders but a freaking fixed blade knife shouldn't cost more than 200. I don't care what kind of steel it has or warranty
The altitude is one of benchmades absolute BEST all around do everything edc or packing in fixed blade they have ever made!!!!!! I'm surprised it didn't make the cut... and s90v!!!!! Light weight yet heavy hitting in every other way possible!!!!! And it looks good
Why pay $200 for this, when I can buy a ganzo g727m with 440 steel for around $20. Built solid and looks just as good, and I don't have to pay a fortune for a logo.
Mini grip! One of Benchmades best knives..probably the best bang for buck, especially when it was under $100 a few years ago and you could choose from a bunch of different colors. I just bought a mini presidio 2 and it's a badass knife as well. But the mini grip will always go down as the most ergonomic pocket knife available. The longer you have it and use it the more everything about the mini grip makes sense. It just sits in your pocket so well and the little audible click you hear when you pull it from your pocket is satisfying. Not to mention how easy it is to open with one hang and then flick it close. You'll find yourself jonesin on Benchmades designs because they market well, but be assured that the little griptilian is their bread and butter and they are fools for discontinuing from their custom shop.
Oh and it has a full liner unlike the full size grip and bugout and claymore ! Blows all those knives outta the water and is cheaper! Anyone who says it's too small, yeah tell that too the deer I gutted up and skinned. The 20 cv on mine requires more elbow grease to sharpen but it stays sharp a lot longer. After 5 years of carrying it and it being fidgeted with thousands of times, the only that happened was the spring became dislodged and so I had to manually open and close the knife, but it would still lock into place and work! After about 4 months of it being like that, I sent it in and back she came clean and oiled, with a new spring! Sent me a couple of oxided deep carry clips for free too! If your the type of person who is constantly losing their stuff and keep nice things, these over 100 dollar pocket knives are not for you. But if you can keep track of your stuff and boy when you fork out over 100 for a knife, you will! Then they are worth it. Their prices are getting out a little crazy but it's not crazy if you're not a collector and use your stuff.
I bought my first Benchmade over 20 years ago ,And own a lot of them , But they have priced there products to close to the custom knife range, For example I can buy a Chris Reeve backpacker for $ 300.00, And it is money well spent.
I just got my Benchmade 940 Osborne, love the feel and quality of it, but I'd be lying if i said the Kershaw Iridium doesn't deliver the exact same feel and quality at a fraction of the price, sure the steel isn't AS good but D2 is still a good quality steel and came from Kershaw razor blade sharp, overall idk whether to call Benchmade overpriced or Kershaw an amazing underdog
LITTLE KNOW FACT: The best Benchmade is the Presidio 2. My fav is the Bugout, due to its almost weightless nature but the best performing, most durable, most rugged knife in the Benchmade lineup is objectively the Presidio 2. I batoned it through a tree the circumference of a double roll of toilet paper and it didn’t fail once. Absolutely incredible knife.
I have at least one or more of seven of the models on the table. The Bailout is awesome, you should get one. I also have quite a few models that aren't in this video. But my true passion is the Spyderco knives I've bought over the years!
Conclusion: Benchmade needs to offer more blade options for their more EDC focused knives like the bugout and presidio. I'd love a sheepsfoot bugout. Their pricing is also getting kinda wacky on some of their knives. Bugout shouldn't be $180 new (200+ if you add even the slightest options like ends grivory)
I was the same way about buttons until I got the Auto-Fact. Still love my push buttons, and I wish they made an Auto-Fact with a button, but I don't like the hexagonal stop pin BM uses in their push-button autos because if it rotates a bit your knife won't lock all the way. Plan on getting the Arcane next.
Any chance we can get an axis/bar lock spring from benchmade that doesnt break once a year? The only knife from benchmade that I haven't had a broken spring in is my decade old Griptilian... but every other benchmade that I own has had a broken spring at least once! I have eight of them! WHY ARE YOUR NEW SPRINGS SO CRAPPY!
I'm the basic Benchmade dude 😂. My first knife was the sheep foot griptilian, my second was an og green and purple 940, and my third was the wood and leather saddle mountain.
I know clones are wrong, bad for the economy, workers theft of trademarks but the clones on wish are actually pretty sturdy Ive carried them for several hunting seasons and they hold up and for a worker like me I can now occasionally buy a benchmade or spyderco but as a veteran most guys serving can't afford these knives
When benchmade knives were still in that 100-200 dollar price range, I bought several and really like them. They have absolutely lost their minds with pricing and I won’t buy a single knife from them at these prices. That raghorn is great but 400 dollars is asinine. I hope they take a hit to sales and reconsider their pricing.
Problem is if you account for inflation at this point, they probably are in that range, just a sad new reality, but I certainly understand ur position, all these companies are getting out of control prices, they're taking advantage of situations
It’s my first day in the “knife guy” buyers market. I’ve always just had my grandads old knife. The “this looks really good” comments is super foreign to me.
I feel like every auto I’ve ever handled from benchmade has waaay too much blade okay considering the price up against microtech and heretic. But I do like the pukka for a fixie and the bailout with original goat ti scales. I’ve been hard pressed to find anything that can dethrone my Brian Brown Raptor v2 for the price. And on skiffs, my god it’s gloriously smooth on the drop. With ergos like rassenti designs and a blade shape like the crk umnumzaan, how could you go wrong?
I own a few bench made knives. Well built and very pricey. There are many other brands that are equally well built with quality steel, at a third of the price.
Crkt? Spyderco? Buck? Or are all those brands trash. Seems almost all of them are made overseas somewhere.. Not that that's always a bad thing. But i try to avoid china made stuff for edc.
The mini presidio 2 is a underrated knife. They keep forcing the bugout & claymore down peoples throats on social media. Because its probably their most profitable knife. Just a little bit of CF elite plastic with some S30V steel and boom, slap a $180 price tag on it! For heaven sakes every knife they sell should have a full liner... Just stupid
Ive been collecting knives for 30yrs of all kinds and price ranges from Spyderco to Cold Steel to Zero Tolerance. Probably every folder you can think of but i have never purchased a Benchmade. They just dont impress me and i dont like the axis lock. Michrotech autos are where its at 👍 if you wanna be impressed
Before you buy......get extra omega springs.....and get ready to be without your knife for weeks....AND.....pay for shipping after paying the butterfly tax. Or.....buy a Spyderco, Cold Steel, Kershaw, Civivi, etc.....and save your money and your time. My money goes to the Glesser's most of the time.....
I have had Benchmade knives for years now and play with them to the point of annoying everyone around me...but I've NEVER broken an Omega spring! Not sure how people manage to do that
Have 70 BM's and fidget them all the time... No omega spring have broker over 10 years I have these knives. Sorry for your personal experience but it doesnt set anything to the BM community.
I've broken three of them..... A griptillian, bugout, and Adamas...... Also two auto springs......had to pay to have them shipped after owning them no longer than a month....and had to drive to ship the autos a two hour round trip each..... I bought them at Whitaker's in West Louisville KY (I love that store though...it's no knock on them). I have seen the deleted ones too...... I own dozens.....of Spyderco, Kershaw, Cold Steel, etc.....NEVER had a problem with any of them. I WANTED so bad to love Benchmade, but my experience has been nothing but bad. I'm sorry if that offends anyone....if you haven't had those issues that's awesome.
Before you buy a Benchmade, consider how you feel about quality control. Butter knife dull edges, blades scraping handle liners, sheaths with no retention... it could all be yours.
@@Knivess0 III dont know.... I've bought around 30 BM's from the beginning of this year. It was faulty piece that wasnt ever suppose to be out from the factory. But now... especially with newer models like Shootout, Claymore, CLA, Presidios, Redoubt.... all with late 22 or 23's "birthday" stamps on the boxes I cant say a one mean word towards my feelings with these knives out of the box. I Hope they heared and really improved. Considering higher and higher prices they are asking. But I do actually mind the rapid growth in prices. But maaan. @@Knivess0 Yea, I hear you. 👍The 2023 BM pricing can't be objectively reasoned just on the basis of inflation, raw material prices, electricity bills, war in Europe, or higher salaries for the employees. There is definitely something else going on in the BM board members and ownership that we just dont know anything about :-/ It is sad that customers just feel the consequences of such management. Hopefully they will feel the decrease in the sales and think again on their pricing policies. But dont know.
Best knife Benchmade makes. It's too bad they discontinued it from the custom shop. I had a bugout too ended up giving it to my brother who's an electrician. For not having a full liner, I must say that knife stood up to some abuse. He would strip wires with that blade and it only ever had a small couple chips in the blade. He ended up loosing it and I forsure wouldn't buy another one at what they cost now , like $180. One thing I didn't like about it was it's a palm slicer when it dropped shut. . my mini grip has never chopped my paw. It sure was a cute Morel mushroom picking knife before I gave it to my brother but I share your same thoughts. Something about the mini grip! Everything about it is perfect for a pocket knife. The way it sits in your pocket, to deploying it, flicking it close all with one hand and then back into the pocket, shit is satisfying!
I like how you mentioned the Frn format too. Even tho I have the G10 one with 20 cv. The Frn one is the best. Just feels solid , don't know why ppl complain about the FRN, it feels good even with wet hands and is pretty durable even when dropped. At least way better feeling than the full sized grip. Too plasticky. Something to be said about something more compact, itll always feel more solid. Their G10 is so slippery. Im actually not a huge fan of the free flow design with spacers like all the G10 ones were. All the lint and dust and crap gets in there and yeah I just don't like it as much as the cheaper ones! The closed back is.the way to go. I don't want lint getting onto my blade! Even if you have a bunch of loose change in your pocket, those little coins could potentially get into the backspacers and dull up your blade. Keep rocking on with the mini grip 🤟
Great overview of the Benchmade line! Got a good look at shapes and sizes I wouldn't have looked at before. And thanks for bringing the banter back to Knife Banter.
I have the baby bugout and its a great knife and all but for some reason i just can not put a decent edge on it, but when i got it out of the box it held an edge for a very long time, im also not a huge fan of the price point either thats alot of money
Before you buy a Benchmade… buy one of the many other brands that do the crossbar lock far better (and cheaper) than Benchmade. The hogue deka is cheaper with better materials than the bugout and IMO the implementation of the lock is better, it’s much easier to get good action without blade play. I have the magnacut version with OG aluminium scales on it and it’s incredible The best crossbar lock I have tried is on the Kunwu pulsar, it has beautifully textured titanium tabs on the lock rather than just pulling back the bar itself, it’s on bearings so it has perfect drop shut action while having not even a hint of play in any direction - which is something you’ll never find on a Benchmade. Also if Benchmade released the pulsar they would probably charge like $1200 😂😂 I have a Kizer drop bear on the way which has an adjustable crossbar lock and is also on bearings. Excited to see how it stacks up

It’s our past time, we like fine cutlery.
@keithsargent6963exactly how we should look at this. everyone’s allowed to have their expensive hobby/vice.
Bird and Trout style knife.
I have 7 different Benchmade models, love them all !! The Griptilian is probably my favorite workhorse knife.
They have had a mini freak for a few years now in carbon fiber. I love mine
Modified 2 Bugouts. Both times ordered on eBay factory titanium hardware for stock tolerances. They’re almost like jewelry now
Just received my first Benchmade 14:28 and it's really very good. Fantastic slim and lightweight knife.
I'm worried this will not be my last Benchmade knife!
You need to get a mini adamas
I pick mine up this week!
The Bailout is an awesome knife! Watch out as Benchmade has new colors for the Bailout shipping soon.
@@PeterShire WoW I really have enjoyed my Bailout and would love to get a back spacer to try that out. The glass breaker (sometimes) digs in my hand a little. Back spacers for the dugout are easy enough mainly because I guess of their populatity.
@@johnjoe3386 That is amazing John, I'm pleased you are enjoying it.
When I feel like the action is too stiff, I just take a little bit of tension out of the hub bolt. An 8th to a quarter turn is usually enough.
4 stitches on my finger using the saddle mountain skinner and to top it off it was on my birthday
If I bleed myself on accident within the first day of owning a knife I know it was made for me and I keep them with pride as we have bonded.
So, recent trip to the USA and Pennsylvania and I bought the T6 6061 Aluminium v4 Bugout, Art Deco styling and slick. I love it.
I really have to ask. Why would you want to come here? Sounds like a sweet bugout though.
Me to I can't stand it. And hate the bugout
@@BPF80MCar-vi1pg I don't hate the bugout but it was truly disappointing. I bought a nice Civivi Knapper not long ago and am much happier with it
@@brettmorgan5129 it just feels dinky.
Lol Bugout. You fool.
Just bought the Super Freek and I'm amazed on the fit and finish. Wow. My new second favorite folder since the Manix 2
do you like it better than the Manix?
@@RandoWisLuL no, my al time favorite is the Manix 2 in G10. But this is the only Benchmade that feels great for me. I just don't trust a omega spring that's it. It's says second favorite now..
Crooked river mini is my go to knife. Love it. It's good for everything. Love to whittle sharp bits of sticks when out with my dog. As he loves sticks. And fetch and tug of war.
Ahhh the bugout. Bought it a few years ago at Usd 130+. Both omega springs broke within 6 months and already felt it was overpriced back then.
Brother when the OG Blue bugout came out I bought it for 117.34$ out the door.
Just bought the straight edge Claymore, thing is so sick
Flyway is a companion to a skinner, its for capping the skull area for mounting the animal, also the rear end during the dressing. Good vidieo guys
I literally watched the video for the bug out in the teaser. Its got to be one of y'alls. Details would be great. Thanks in advance.
Come on guys! Info please.
And it looks good
I thought they discontinued it.
I have 8 benchmade knives, I loved them all
I carry a 940 with copper scales from Flytanium. Heavy but feels good to me. Feels more expensive like how a gold Rolex is heavy
Why pay $200 for this, when I can buy a ganzo g727m with 440 steel for around $20. Built solid and looks just as good, and I don't have to pay a fortune for a logo.
Just got my first Crooked River and Mini Griptilian.... quite happy! 😊
That Anonymous knife is cool ! If your hand gets slippery or oily very good guard on that .
Love the Griptilian
“Love” the Pukko price . One knive instead of 5 Moras.
I bought my first Benchmade over 20 years ago ,And own a lot of them , But they have priced there products to close to the custom knife range, For example I can buy a Chris Reeve backpacker for $ 300.00, And it is money well spent.
I love Benchmade knives. I have 5 of them in my collection. Great video, thanks for the tips.
I demand a video of the Blade HQ shop !!!! show us around
I have, and love, a Presidio II. It’s a fantastic knife, little bigger than a Griptillian, good cutting geometry, while still being very carryable.
I've got one of the first production run in s30v ❤❤
I like the thin blade , very sharp
LITTLE KNOWN *OPINION* 😂😂
I have at least one or more of seven of the models on the table. The Bailout is awesome, you should get one. I also have quite a few models that aren't in this video. But my true passion is the Spyderco knives I've bought over the years!
how would you compare the m4 steel to the s90v in terms of sharpness and edge retention ?
You forgot my favorite Benchmade! The Altitude. It's a cool minimalist fixed blade great for pocket carry. Like a fixed blade Bugout.
Love the claymore. I kept teetering on getting an adamas but i just prefer push buttons like the claymore, protechs, kolishnikoves
Wow that’s a beautiful fixed blade ! Thanks for video
No mention of the Barrage...WOW! I'm an ex-benchmade fan boy, but still have a few and the Barrage was the last one I bought.
I bought my mountain skinner a few months ago, It's a great knife
I love Benchmade. The first I bought was a Reptilian, also.
Just ordered a 940 Osborne of I get it monday
I currently own a custom bugout,940,SOCP Folder,Adamas D2, 557 mini grip purple, SOCP dagger.
The only hobby where you buy gear more often than you use it
Some of my favorites in my collection are the 575 & and the 555
I love the crooked river, one of y favorite folder
I don't like plastic handles even though I've got a freek in cheap plastic, great design
Love my Osborne 940
Gonna need a spyderco one next
I am so old when they said the best selling Benchmade knife of all time I thought "oh the Griptilian"
Flyway is a reference to waterfowl migration routes…I’m going to guess based on its size and name that’s a “bird and fish” skinning or filleting knife
I really like the bailout
I clutch my nimravus near and dear forever.
When he started flicking that grip as hard as he could, something came to my mind. Life-altering hand tendon slice. Scared the shit out of me
Hey, if the knife hasn’t “bit” you 🩸 it’s not really yours/broken in yet 🤷♂️
They need to work on pricing a little bit. They are high on there 154cm, but other than that, they make great knives
Oh they’ve been working on pricing, just not in the direction we would prefer 😂
Cpm154
the fillet/boning knife is a frikkin nice piece
I'm the basic Benchmade dude 😂. My first knife was the sheep foot griptilian, my second was an og green and purple 940, and my third was the wood and leather saddle mountain.
Flyway= bird and trout knife. As in waterfowl flyways
Prices are off the hook!!!
The value isn't there!
Problem is if you account for inflation at this point, they probably are in that range, just a sad new reality, but I certainly understand ur position, all these companies are getting out of control prices, they're taking advantage of situations
They need the money to donate to more Democrat politicians
I want one of these knives in their website it’s cheaper than Benchmade. Making sure I get the same quality
I got 8 Benchmade knives enjoy them a lot.not cheap .
I have:
Ranger Green Bugout & Blue Class Bugout
BHQ exclusive 940

The mini Adamas is the best Benchmade knife period!. The bugout is crap compared to it. The auto 940 is also pretty good
It’s my first day in the “knife guy” buyers market.
*Why didn't you guys include the Casbah? I absolutely love it... no one ever talks about it 😢*
I like the saadle mountain ..! But with a window breaker it should be better. ^^
Raghorn looks amazing!
Third of the price… made in china.
I love the mini presidio II and the hidden canyon hunter.
Just stupid
I have the Hidden Canyon hunter and it’s badass! 💪🏻
The sheath is absolute garbage.
@@edwardk1545 I agree. I had a kydex one made.
Flyway's are the different migratory travel sections for waterfowl
Ive been collecting knives for 30yrs of all kinds and price ranges from Spyderco to Cold Steel to Zero Tolerance. Probably every folder you can think of but i have never purchased a Benchmade. They just dont impress me and i dont like the axis lock. Michrotech autos are where its at 👍 if you wanna be impressed
I love how they look, they have good steels and heat treats, but unfortunately I will never buy one.
my EDC is the Benchmade LFK.. There's nothing like it..
It seems like Benchmade uses soft polymer so that when it's injected it doesn't peel like rubbers usually do
Strangely I just want to say I like that simple striped long sleeve shirt
Before you buy......get extra omega springs.....and get ready to be without your knife for weeks....AND.....pay for shipping after paying the butterfly tax.
Or.....buy a Spyderco, Cold Steel, Kershaw, Civivi, etc.....and save your money and your time. My money goes to the Glesser's most of the time.....
I have had Benchmade knives for years now and play with them to the point of annoying everyone around me...but I've NEVER broken an Omega spring! Not sure how people manage to do that

I've broken three of them..... A griptillian, bugout, and Adamas...... holy moly. thank you guys and gals
Love Benchmade and their customer service is top notch.
Before you buy a Benchmade, consider how you feel about quality control. Butter knife dull edges, blades scraping handle liners, sheaths with no retention... it could all be yours.
It is much better QC lately ;)
@Jiřina Fraňková I'm glad to hear that! I do love a lot of their designs.
@@Knivess0 III dont know.... I've bought around 30 BM's from the beginning of this year. I have objective feeling that it got a lot better, because in previous years I was really mad on that QC :-/ I actually had to return one of my first BM ( bugout) because it wouldn't lock properly no matter what :-/.
But maaan. I am bussiness man as well and I had to raise prices as well in my company just to pay all the higher bills and to raise paychecks of my employees so they are happy with working with me and that they continue to improve and be better. People can always choose to buy some other cheaper knives. It is not such a essential item as food or medicine.
Yeah right. Come over and let me run my benchmades down your arm and you can see how dull they are.
I have a 940 and two Bugouts but none of these get as much pocket time as my mini-Griptilian in its basic frn format.
What about there kitchen knives? Would like to see presentation of those
The adamas is always a winner in my book.
Before you buy a Benchmade… buy one of the many other brands that do the crossbar lock far better (and cheaper) than Benchmade.
The hogue deka is cheaper with better materials than the bugout and IMO the implementation of the lock is better, it’s much easier to get good action without blade play. I have the magnacut version with OG aluminium scales on it and it’s incredible
The best crossbar lock I have tried is on the Kunwu pulsar, it has beautifully textured titanium tabs on the lock rather than just pulling back the bar itself, it’s on bearings so it has perfect drop shut action while having not even a hint of play in any direction - which is something you’ll never find on a Benchmade. Also if Benchmade released the pulsar they would probably charge like $1200 😂😂
I have a Kizer drop bear on the way which has an adjustable crossbar lock and is also on bearings. Excited to see how it stacks up
Flyway, because it’s as much bird knife as it is fishing knife.
