  • Hi, this is Jia.
I would like to share my favorite Korean recipes with you.
I've been running Korean cooking class and food tour company in Seoul, Korea for the last 10 years.
I wanted to share my secret recipes which are both easy to make and delicious.
I hope you enjoy my video!
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Hotteok Korean Pancake
    Ingredients
    All purpose flour(regular flour) 150g
    Rice flour 60g
    Dry yeast 1 tsp
    Sugar 5 tblsp
    Salt 1/3 tsp
    Cinnamon powder 1 tsp
    Water 200 cc(100cc room temperature + 100cc boiling hot)
    Vegetable oil 3 tblsp
    Instructions
    1. Combine All purpose flour with rice flour and add one third teaspoon of salt and half teaspoon of sugar and mix
    2. Add little by little, warm water(combine 100cc room temperature with 100cc boiling hot) to flour mixture and mix to make a dough
    3. Put the dough in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Set it aside for 2 hours in 40 celcious degrees. Let it rise to a double size
    4. In a meantime, make filling. Combine sugar with cinnamon powder
    5. Coat both hands(palm) with vegetable oil so that dough doesn’t stick to the palm. Take one handful of prepared(risen) dough and flatten it. Stuff about 1 tablespoon of cinnamon with sugar mixture
    6. Take one side of the dough to other side and close it. Make it in a bowl shape
    7. Heat the pan with 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Put the dough to the pan and cook one side for 1 minute
    8. Flip over the dough and press it using spetula. Cook it brown and crispy both sides

This is Christmas to me as I just got back from visiting Korea and craving hotteok. Still kicking myself that I did not know about your food tour & cooking class even though our hotel was right in Jongno-gu!!!!!

I am so sorry for the late reply. 150g of flour is one and a half cup of flour. 60g of rice flour is 4/5 cup, which is little less than a cup. Thank you for the comment!
