Just made this tonight and it's the best one yet. It was a little watery, probably needed another potato or 2 as they were small, but not to worry still came out great. Thank you for a really nice vegan recipe.
this is in the oven, i skipped the herbs because i’m not a fan of them and just added garlic and onion powder instead with a bag of daiya i had in the freezer. tasted the sauce and it’s amazing, the daiya mozzarella shreds made it stretchy and didn’t affect the taste at all!
This was a very rich and tasty dish, but I think next time I'll add less coconut cream and dried rosemary for personal preference. I also used a fan oven so baked at 180c for a longer bake time. Good idea regarding the cartouche. Thank you.
I hope you love it as much as I do! I haven't tried making it ahead, but I don't see why not! Just put foil over it when you warm it up in the oven again. The baking dish used is a square ceramic dish that is 24cmx24cm (9.45inx9.45in). Hope that helps!
Girl! OMGEEE I just made this. I have never had this before. Y'all call it Gratin (looks like a casserole) Maybe that is what it's called in the States...BUT IT'S GOOOOOOOD Thanks for taking the time to make this video
I hope you still check the comments here. First, thank you very much for this amazing recipe. My husband and I are not-vegan but my friends are, and I wanted to cook the vegan dish for them. This looks really gorgeous. I followed your recipe but what I made was a bit watery.. I wonder what was wrong. I appreciate if you could give me some advice. Thank you in advance.
At what step did you notice that it was watery? When did it stop looking like the one in the video? How long did you bake it without the baking paper halfway through?
@@HeartfulTable Thank you for your reply. When I put all the ingredients into the pot, it was quite watery. I thought it might turn creamy when baked in the oven, but it didn’t change much. I baked it for 20 minutes without he baking paper. Looking back, I didn’t have nutritional yeast at home, so I didn’t add it. I didn’t think it would be a big issue, but maybe that was the problem.
@@kko2437 Yes the nutritional yeast will help to thicken it. That's most likely your culprit. I'm guessing your consistency was looser than mine in the video? The only other thing that I can think of is that you used coconut milk for drinking instead of cream from a can?
just subscribed. excellent job of teaching the steps to recipes. Not a lot of unnecessary chitchat. Well done.

This looks so good! I’m definitely making for Christmas. Is the pan you used to cook them a 9x13? Could you make a day ahead and refrigerate?
