Two awesome doctors....thank you for supporting the health of women in a world of massive gaslighting. Gyno told my sweating insomnia mother that HRT will give her a heart attack at 78 😢
I’m convinced I’m in perimenopause at 40 with irregular periods, many symptoms…worst being sleep issues out of the blue when I turned 40. I’ve been given 400mg progesterone nightly, some nights it works others it doesn’t do anything!! I’ve tried adding in low dose divigel 0.25 daily but my sleep gets worse every other night instead of the every 3 nights! It’s so frustrating with no help trying to figure it all out on my own has been so sad. I’ve been to so many doctors, had so many tests and nobody is educated on this. Even the hormone doctor I found basically just gives the hormones and that’s about it. This needs to change thank you for being such inspiring women trying to change women’s health! 💕
@@maggiemagsbond83 I'm so sorry. Did they do testing? 400 mg is a hefty dose. I'm on 200 mg. It could be related to so many things ...checking your cortisol levels and possibly adding in some testosterone sounds in order.
Im 40 also and started perimenopause last year marked by a UTI when I have never had one in my life and am celibate and I had another one this year. No gyno would admit to me that I was in perimenopause so I spent over a year not understanding I need Estrogen cream on urethra, for the tissues down there. Only around the time I read this dr’s book, You are not broken and started The New Menopause book which referred me to midi health and finally that NP diagnosed me perimenopause. My other symptom is sleep disturbance as well, which started a couple years ago marked by heightened anxiety which can be another sign. All that to say, I empathize with you and would like to share what helps me, Im deciding not to do the HRT at this time. I am trying Anna’s wild yam cream as Barbara O’neil explains this is a natural way to balance your hormones. i go to sleep at the same time, 930ish every night. Get yourself into a routine. Coffee or tea in the early morning, 1 cup but no more throughout the day. Add an adaptogen Adrenamed from Numedica and Magnesium Glycinate 2 caps a night. It doesnt work every night but there are nights i sleep 6-7hrs straight which is great for me! Another thing you can do is eat foods that have precursor to melatonin like a banana. The midi appointment NP told me I could try Cortisol Manager which has Lthianine and Ashwaganda. I bought Menomedica from Numedica too but havent tried it yet.
Watching from Portugal. Finding HRT at 69 in an EU country is extremely challenging. I did not give up and have finally found a doctor I can work with and trust. Yet, her field is “anti-aging medicine”…which means thousands of women in this country are not being provided for in the public system.
Again, you two are amazing! I felt everything you touched on. I even finished some of your sentences as you said them, or said them along with you. I started my journey to finding the old me wayyy too late, but she's coming back. And thanks to ladies like you two, maybe generations after us won't have to suffer the way we have! It's a long, hard journey! I am thankful for the support I've found on podcasts and UA-cam channels like this one!
Here in New Zealand we have a TV program called "The Restaurant That Makes Mistakes." It employes people with early onset Alzheimer's/Dementia. At least 3 of the women on it are in their late 50's and I can't help but wonder if they would have benefited from hormones if they had been seen by a GP who knew and understood Perimenipause etc. So sad.
👏👏👏👏👏👏Is everyone in the back row listening and paying attention to these two smart, professional women? The story about the woman using cocaine to stop her bad thoughts brought tears to my eyes. It makes me so angry. Hopefully one day this information will be made available to every woman who sees a doctor during annual physicals/exams. As young girls most of us are told about what happens when we start periods but, who tells us anything about what to expect during peri menopause and menopause?
@@Katepwe ... made me tear up too. Such a disgrace that most of the time, they are not offered any help but told: "That is just how women age... !: So disrespectful!!! 😔
Yes another woman whom specializes on this subject said addictions go through the roof. And trauma comes back from youth. I recommend women not to drink at all. Really by 40/41 you shouldn't be consuming it. And also Homepathy remedies from a practitioner daily will help that craving.
I've never heard you speak about lung function... I cough chronically since starting low dose transdermal estrodial plus natural progesterone plus natural testosterone. Plenty of mucus, and had to start asthma medication. What are your thoughts? And please share link if there is already a video on this topic.
I just know that estradiol is very anti-inflammatory (if given in correct, sufficient doses) and so it seems to me that might be an unlucky coincidence.... 🤷🏻♀️ Of course I am no doctor!!! And indeed, I would also love to see a show on HRT and lungs! 👍
Can you address in a future podcast about pcos in 30 year olds, my daughter has had the symptoms since she was 25 but doctors want to feed her birth control but never address the lack of periods, the weight gain, and all the other symptoms that go along with it.
I’m wondering if all my various symptoms are basically hormones! Diagnosis-Rheumatoid arthritis, atrial fibrillation , fibroids have taken stupid amounts Meds ! To then find out I have a hemangioma in my liver . (Of course they say meds don’t Cause that) non drinking /smoking -eat quite healthy . Think I have to give HRT a go 🙏
My fibromyalgic-like, rheumatoid-like muscle and joint pain symptoms got cured within weeks when I started HRT. And get your FREE testosterone tested too - after 30 years of birth control pill it is close to nil (like 80 yo"s although 54 yo😢), also SHBG up in the sky: 144! 😢😢... I started testosterone three months ago and loved it since it was giving me tons of energy. Unfortunately, now it has started to make me tired. Does anyone know why that would be?
@@Katepwe Thank you! It can’t be too high because I am only taking 0.10 mg lozenges. Even my doctor laughs at the low dose. I think you are right about the progesterone. I always feel fatigued in the morning from taking progesterone at night.
@@heiditugers I’m in Canada and haven’t heard of Testosterone lozenges. Are they over the counter or prescription? I’ve read that changing the delivery method for progesterone to vaginally could be helpful.
