Very inspiring story, but before everyone jumps out the window, use your discernment. She invested in Tesla in late 2019 and had 125,000 people in classes a year later. She was selling classes before she made the 2 million. The money is from the classes, and she invested it. She didn't make strictly from investing 5k and then 5 more.
I wish people would be more. honest you know. Dope. interview but she didn't make that 2.mill off investing alone
It sounds like that.
Yup. And it’s a moonshot. Moonshots are luck, not skill. They are not reproducible.
Thank you for explaining, I actually see it as a good opportunity to imitate this and start something
They all do that. Trade, have a little success then teach $. Then claim trading alone made them wealthy.
I am a beginner, taking baby steps gingerly, I am glad I have come across this video!
Same here! What is sad is that I’m 63, with only ~200k saved and I don’t know how to start. I made dumb mistakes, but still better than some. 😐😞
Hey, you’re in a great spot! It is never too late to get this thing rolling. It really isn’t. Great job sharpening your skills now and keep it going man. We’ve all made dumb mistakes, and we can all learn together as we go!
@@philcrowley007
thanks for the positive words. 👍🏻
Started at 25 now I’m 30 I saved and invested all my money for 5 years besides bills and have no fun in life and still don’t have 100K. Idk how you people do it… this is overwhelming
Putting your money into the stock market to work for you is not a bad idea. But I would only use low cost index funds. They track the broader stock market and if you reinvest the dividends you are pretty much guaranteed to beat the market every year (whether it goes up or down). Over time the law of compound returns makes this the best way to invest. It also gives you instant diversification and shields you from many of the risks involved in stock picking. HOWEVER, one should never put money in the stock market you might need in the near to intermediate future. That kind of money should be in cash or high quality bonds.
Love love to see black women in this space, sad to think many ppl can’t fathom. We belong in this space like everyone else.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Who’s everyone?
including some people in the comments. It saddens me to read comments some times..
Yeah it's always a pleasure to see "black women" 😔😔 such beautiful sight to behold 💀💀
@@alainportant6412 So did you take the time to watch this video just to be sarcastic?
I wish the interview was more in depth in how she parlayed $5K into $2M in a short span of time. For example, what specific strategies did she employ with TSLA & other stocks to grow her multi-million $ account? Was she primarily a long-term investor and/or was she a swing or day trader too? Did she trade options on stocks or just stocks? HOw does one reach her to learn more about her stock investing courses? Sooo many un-answered questions.
Great question. It does sound like options. With those percentage gains, it sounds like options. Unless she got in when it was dirt cheat.
Top of the day to you, I'm a Wealth-Building Specialist. To answer your question, there's many variables. What are your goals? What have you already done? Then, identifying strategies will make sense. There's no cookie-cutter answer. It's a slight bit different for everyone.
She sells course to learn to trade options since 2021 that‘s how she made it
She bought the dip before it was 650, it rallied over 1400 when it split in 2031… she got lot of shares from holding/ options etc.
I so understand. No one is giving information on UA-cam for free, they are all selling courses that some ppl my not be able to afford to keep their revenue coming in...
Great interview. If you’re reading this start investing now! I started investing at 22 with my first paycheck out of college. Best decision ever. Now all 3 of my daughters had investment portfolios by middle school.
How much did you invest? And which site bc I’ve been investing in Robinhood and I’m not seeing much growth
Please start a UA-cam channel on how you did this. I don't have kids yet, but I want what you did for your kid for my kids.
Yes Mum! 👏🏾 👏🏾 Brilliant move♟️ I don't have kids yet, but I know we can't depend on school to teach our kids how to do this ❤ I will do the same for my little one's ❤
@@jodynanciyou want see much growth. If you have debt you ain't got no business investing. If you don't have an emergency fund in a HYSA you ain't got no business investing. I'm talking 6 - 12 months savings. Your emergency savings is your 1st investment. Your 2nd investment should be a house and your approach should be to pay it off asap. Your 3nd investment is your employer's 401K if they match. Once your house is paid off and you have a 529 plan for your kids education, then you can play with robin hood.
@@lourianneapollon5282Given the statement, what exactly is it that you think she did?
I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks and made about $246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded again and now I am rounding up close to a million.
Can you teach me?
Sp500?
“You know you’re in your purpose when things are not too hard.” Truer words have never been said. Same with relationships.
“Someone taught me HOW to invest.”
It cannot be stressed enough that financial literacy is gatekept on purpose.
I really appreciate the dedication in each video you post. To be successful in stock markets, crypto and so on as a side hustle, individuals should understand the crossover between asset classes & liquidity flow. Ann Elizabeth Messer focuses on Multi-asset trading, a single strategy to manage risk, profit, and the code or the actual decision-making across multi-asset classes. Her skills set is top notch.
I'm a bit perplexed seeing her been mentioned here also Didn’t know she has been good to so many people too this is wonderful, I'm in my fifth trade with her and it has been super.
The interviewer is superb...so calm and genuine.
I second that!
Agreed! She is a refreshing change of pace from most interviewers.
Tiffany J is incredible i used to host a financial literacy room on Clubhouse and Tiffany was a frequent guest. Happy for her journey 🙌🏾💛
Can't nothing stop what's for you. Look for the grace and ease.
Financial planning is like navigation. If you know where you are and where you want to go, navigation isn't such a great problem. It's when you don't know the two points that it's difficult❤
People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.
Very possible! especially at this moment. Profits can be made in many different ways, but such intricate transactions should only be handled by seasoned market professionals.
Finding yourself a good broker is as same as finding a good wife, which you go less stress, you get just enough with so much little effort at things
Sounds interesting. I was planning to invest some few £ in some coins, stack them up and leave them for a few years, but seeing this changed my mindset. Thank you very much
I happen to see this while I was scrolling on UA-cam. This was a great interview and I'm so happy for her success. May you continue to thrive!❤
Glad I saw this Forbes interview with Tiffany James, CEO of Modern Black Girl. So gets to the heart of how to find and be your purpose: timeless.
She is THAT GIRL 💕
I will love to give back to my parents, glad I totally resonate with Ms. James i grew up in Brooklyn, NY and will love to take care of my mom and dad.
Congratulations and good for her!! I keep trying to tell the girls around me (or anyone else for that matter) who will listen - even recently started a YT channel... The potential of the stock market is absolutely limitless and while starting early is key to success, one can start at anytime. I only set up a brokerage account in 2021 and the joy I see in seeing my strides! So happy for her!!
I loved that she answered her smartest investment or purchase on her parents 😍
My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.
As a beginner, educate yourself, Learn the basics of investing and the stock market. There are many resources available online, including books, articles, and online courses. It’s a good idea to diversify your portfolio across different stocks and sectors to minimize risk. I’ve heard of people accruing over $550k during recessions and inflation, its important to do your own research.
Yes, I've been in constant touch with a Financial Analyst for approximately 8 months. You know, these days it's really easy to buy into trending stocks, but the task is determining when to sell or keep. That's where my manager comes in, to help me with entry and exit points in the industries I'm engaged in. Can’t say I regret it, I’m 40% up in profits just in 5months with my initial capital of $160k
My teacher that gave me my start in trading so proud of Tiffany and all of her continue success 🙏🏾
Buy a good cross section of an economy, Build a diverse portfolio that keeps you motivated,Speed up the process where possible:i'm all for dividends and i DRIP into etfs (ARKW, VOO, VXUS, IVV) and company stocks. After my first million I realized that when a stock starts booming chances of you finding out means you are quite late to the party, for this I make sure my CFA handles that, ever grateful to Anna Rounds Fay.it's like turning your notifications to earn more millions.
Good work. cherish variety.
Thanks for sharing, I just looked her up on the web because this is equally important to me, and I would say she really has an impressive background in investing. I will write her an e-mail shortly.
Smart, I must commend you ,you will keep making you solid profits through compounding while the other stocks pays monthly although advantageous you started big
Wondering if the stuff you recommend is USA specific or does it translate to other western countries?
Your dad's story is my dad's story. My dad had a Medallion and was a legit millionaire. Then Uber happened. He list everything. This was his retirement plan. Now he is driving Lyft. Unable to truly retire. 🇭🇹
My dad experienced the same thing. It’s really unfortunate and sad.
wow same story! my grandpa came from Haiti, had a Medallion and refused to sell. So unfortunate to see
thats so sad! how did he lose being a millionaire?
Just checked their website! Classes are coming up! I have to check them out!
what is the website pls
Halfway into this interview and i am loving every second of it!!

This interview is full of little gold nuggets 🔥
Good interview, I wish she shared more detail on what else she invested in outside of just Tesla and what her holdings are. None the less, QUALITY content! 💯
Not just on what else she invested in but when was she investing. If it was during the pandemic then it makes sense that she grew her account to 2 million. Average returns during that time for tesla was like 1000% y/y
ELF, beauty brands
That was a really good interview!! She really lay out great advices not only for investment but also about the mindset needed for entrepreneurship, here for it!🙌🏾
Truly inspirational! Wish you all the Best!
Forbes for sure I believe you add the social of your guest is the list you can do ! Thank
We don’t talk enough about the successful haters and gatekeepers in the black community.
I try to share whenever I get the chance. The flipside is people aren't always receptive and sometimes just don't want to do the work necessary to be successful! Trading is hard and requires a lot time and dedication!
@@tahntalus it’s in every industry that I’ve experienced. You have blacks who love being the only one sitting at the table and don’t make any opportunities for those they feel threatened by. I’m not talking about low class unmotivated people I’m talking about people whose talents are on par or above theirs. For example, many men don’t want to see a beautiful woman get real money with their minds. It’s just too much power for some to accept. Or even see a younger more charismatic and likable man come up. I applaud those who aren’t threatened who are actual queen and king makers. But to be real, I’ve only seen those people on TV and I’ve worked around some very successful, popular, powerful people.
@@nightlifekingno ones gatekeeping this young lady. I think folks hear this, and know this young lady is full of ish.
I could be wrong, but i think at one point she did even work at CNBC Sqwak box
why do we need to talk about that ?
@@IrresistibleWitch i could break this down, but im not going to ill just point out this:
Theres some real black dragonauts in the investment industry for sure.
Robert Smith is always willing to through his arms, money and time to black upcoming platforms. You constantly see him on even small platforms giving interviews and answering question. Melody Hobson and the whole Ariel Company the same.
Dont you think it’s quite ironic that neither has, partnered with, donate to or embraced this cause? Vista Equity Partners directly sponsor a platform that teaches investing to minority girls then creates onramps for them to have internships with Vista. So its clearly a cause Robert cares about. But he’s made no connection with this one.
That indicative of what they think.
What an amazing story Tiffany. So proud of you. During those 6 months of intense studying on how to invest in stocks, do you mind sharing what books and courses you have taken to get you to that level?
While Tiffany's success story is impressive, I can't help but wonder if her privilege played a role in her achievements. Not everyone has access to mentors or the financial resources to invest like she did. just being realistic
agreed, not everyone may have access to reliable financial advice. yet her story highlights importance of resilience which i can relate to in my own way, i was 56 and health issues threatened early retirement with little saved up i turned to investing, now 2 years later I've saved $1.6m inching closer to my retirement goal of $3m by 60. we all come from different angles but similar goals, i love her story
you were lucky to have an amazing turnaround in that situation. great to see how she's empowering black women through financial education
I credit that to my research that led me to Emily ava milligan, a top fund manager, not luck. going from just 300 grand to this was certainly not
our journeys share similarities. Following my divorce settlement that left me with $213k, I entrusted an investment to a skilled fund manager. In just two years, that decision turned my returns into $1.1 million. i’m eyeing a countryside home for retirement
after i copied her name and pasted into my browser, her website popped up. I wish i had a tangible example like yours to reference earlier, thanks for the share
Inspiring financial freedom! " Nobody's Free Until Everybody's Free. " - Fannie Lou Hamer. Thank you for this interview.
She got lucky and got rich quickly, but there are plenty who picked stocks at random and went bankrupt. We can't really call that investing; it's more like gambling.
Initially yes but she put in the work thereafter
And she gave back to the community which is how you stay rich
Agreed, but some people get the money and squander it. The real triumph is her leveraging it for even more.
As a Latina in tech, we need more talks like this. Thank you!
I will be forever grateful to you, you changed my whole life and I will continue to preach on your behalf for the whole world to hear you saved me from huge financial debt with just a small investment, thank you Gloria Robinson
She is my family's personal broker and also a personal broker in many families I'm United States, she's a licensed broker and a FINRA AGENT in United states
Isn't that the same Gloria Robinson that my neighbors are talking about, she has to be a perfect expert for people to talk about her so well. I'm new at this, please how can I reach her?
As a beginner what do I need to do? How can I invest, on which platform? If you know any please share.
I just withdrew my profits a week ago, To be honest it was an amazing feeling when the profits hits my wallet I wish I could reinvest but, too much bills
she's mostly on Telegrams, using the user name
This was absolutely amazing!
Loved this interview. Very inspiring, especially as a Caribbean girl myself. I really resonate with her passion, drive, and defiance to make true change not just for herself but others. Way to go girl!!!
This is oh so inspirational. I love her story. Will definitely look into clubhouse. God bless her and may he continue to do so.
With my very first job out of college, the first thing I did with my money was to buy health insurance for my mom and then my dad after fighting insurance company for a year because they rejected him for having smoked. By the way, thank you Obama for making it illegal for insurance companies to discriminate against us for pre-existing conditions like smoking. I’m not a modern black girl, but an old Asian woman and I really enjoyed this video. Thank you very much. I will share with my daughters.
Great interview. The interviewer has a very warm gentle voice, made the interview feel very genuine
Wish I could give this episode 1000 thumbs up....phenomenal. Thank you
Great growth, learning and success story. Congratulations Tiffany on your tremendous accomplishments and inspiring so many others!❣🙏🏽🙏🏾
You have no idea how I wish I had her knowledge at 19, I had 10k but didn’t know what to do with it and had no guidance. I brought my parents a house (just with the down payment) and they really didn’t know what they were doing, and did not want to include me in financial planning. Now I have to start from scratch and it’s really hard. But I know I can do it!
Thank you Tiffany for your advise and for representing women. Can I suggest offering classes to the kids in school. We don't start teaching about money and investments early enough.
Love this! Good for you!
Awesome interview ❤❤Love
This is good! "Investing is a necessity and its needed for your growth"
*Same her, sis!!!* *I'm spending money on books and mentors, personal growth development.*

Can’t wait to see you in the uk!
I just stumbled on this video, and this is what I’ve been looking for, for weeks now.
This was so good. I love her story and I'm glad she shared some nuggets. Truly an inspiration.
Haitian so proud 👏
Jamaicans too. Haitian and Jamaicans I love the mix
Black Brooklyn people so proud
How many of our Carribean parents had to start over from scratch. My 🇭🇹 father, too, was a cab driver/owner and was decimated by Uber/Lyft. He's since now transitioned to trucking.
I love the anchor of New Money. She is meek yet mighty. Y’all ladies feed my soul 💪🏾✨🌞🌈💃🏾 Thank You 🙏🏾
Really loved this interview. Very inspirational ❤
Thank you for appearing on my timeline. This young lady is absolutely beautiful.
How inspiring to see someone who knows they’re living in their purpose.
So proud of you Tiffy! Rep for NY ❤
7:12 Her thoughts about purpose is spot on. She mastered the art of following your interests and jumping on the opportunities that clicked.
We need a part 2 interview
I bought some of her classes back in 2020, they were terrible. Lack of structure and education, hopefully they are better now. Otherwise I would lump her in with all of the other course scammers.
She's a scammer. Read JL Collins book, "The Simple Path to Wealth". It's not some get rich quick promise. It's about investing in an index fund, holding it forever, then at retirement pulling out 4% annually. That's it. Boring, low risk, and low fees. Anything other than this is either gambling with your money or you're being taken advantage of by a financial advisor (aka salesman).
Great information, and I'm listening.❤❤
Fantastic Interview
Love the mission and impact on women
Well Done indeed
wow. what an AMAZING story. loved this.
Encouraging to see and hear your experiences.
Thank you for this
Sometimes women get that treatment because they know you’re capable and they feel threatened and a lot of times they don’t want you to be better than them. So they condescend to discourage you not knowing it was only going to bring you further into your gifts and wisdom. The passion speaks loudly and I’m grateful to hear your story.
Wonderful interview, thank you!
I love this video, she is so inspiring
Tiffany is the best! Love Modern Blk Girl
Tiffany James' story is a fantastic illustration of how aligning a business with personal values and community needs can amplify its impact and success. Her journey from financial novice to empowered entrepreneur serves as an inspiring blueprint for anyone looking to make meaningful changes in their industry. 💡
Great interview 👍🏾
Nope! This entire interview is fiction. I have 100 questions, and the first is , "Why are you lying?"Similar to the other comments, no real interest in finance, not a trader, no leverage, too short of a time period. I can go on. This is an insult to those of us who really trade for a living.
Some people become lucky, dear. Just like the lottery. Likely, you will never, ever win if you play but one person who only played once (or based on how the system was set up) as opposed to gambling all the time probably will. By the way, I don't believe in the lottery. It is a scam that takes advantage of fools who never learn.
Wow Amazing!!!! I'm so proud of you. You are proving to so many young women and older women that Yes you can Win and live a life of purpose and destiny.
Very inspired. I'm based in the UK and have just signed up to a class while watching this!
I bought some of her classes back in 2020, they were terrible. Lack of structure and education, hopefully they are better now. Please come back after you have taken the classes and let me know your thoughts.
Great Episode 💓

16:57 this is how I’ve been feeling for a few years. I’m working on my bachelors right now, but I know that I’m not going to be working for someone else after I graduate. I am currently, but not for long.
Congratulations on your achievement #ModernBlkGirl🎉
12:45 is so relatable.
I love the inspirational story where when someone tries to be little you and it makes you even hungrier. And it makes you fight above all and overcome whatever they try to say that you're not or you can't do. But I always remember and remind myself that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. It just gives me the hunger. And I love this story and the inspiration that you have given me through this podcast. Is a blessing God bless you!🔥📖🙏🏿💪🏿❤️

The comeback was strong! Great trader story and glad she took that negativity and built herself and company. All the best!
Lol when she said "bags" i thought stocks she bought in 2022 and held on to them because they are down. hmmmm
